Which Side Is Worse In This Election?

*****WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! THERE IS A PHOTO BELOW WITH A STRONG PROFANITY-IT IS ON THIS BLOG AS IS BECAUSE IT IS TO SHOW THE THEME OF THIS POSTING, NOT BECAUSE I APPROVE OF THE PROFANITY!!!!!*****
I have heard so much in this Death March of a presidential election that the conservative side is so unhinged and that many are saying horrible things at McCain/Palin rallies-BTW, unproven-that it is time to look at the facts.

See the photo below? It is not doctored in any way. And yes, it is very, very offensive. And worse, it was on a flyer sent out by a California women's Republican group. And, rightfully denounced by anyone with a pulse.
Now, take a look at the photo below. Nice! And what a beautiful way for young people to show their political feelings and leanings.

These are but two very bad examples of the decline in any sense that this presidential election will be different from 2000 and 2004.

Let us take a look at the above mentioned accusation that people at McCain/Palin rallies are letting loose with yelling "Kill Him!" in reference to the Democrat presidential nominee, Sen. Messiah Barack Obama.

According to the Wilkes-Barre Times-Leader, the head of the Secret Service field office in Scranton said that the allegations that the infamous "Kill Him!" are unfounded. “We have yet to find someone to back up the story,” Slavoski said. “We had people all over and we have yet to find anyone who said they heard it.”

But yet, there is the fact that the DDBMSOWM ran with this as the Gospel and now have no credibility.

Seemingly the moment that the Republican presidential nominee, Sen. John "F--- You" McCain announced his choice for running mate, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, the left wheels fell off.

Rumors, lies and dammed lies came out. Why there is Andrew Sullivan over at The Atlantic who is still trying to peddle the theory that Gov. Palin's baby, Trig, is still not hers but really her granddaughter.

The problem is that what has happened is how personal this election has gotten.

Many on both sides are assaulting the candidates, especially as we see Sen. Messiah Barack and Gov. Palin, on personality rather than issues.

Believe me, there are totally stark differences between Team McCain and Team Obama. The debate this past Wednesday showed it and that is why the polls are tightening.

At the end, I am sorry to write this but it is the left that has fell off the cliff.

Why? Is it because they will be discredited once again and a third senator in a row will go down? Is it because they tried to put up a candidate that was "above it all" and had a great story and yet is still not 20 points ahead?

It is all of the above. It is fear. It is how the left has lived the past eight years. They still do not realize that the United States is a center-right nation. Yes, many an American was frustrated enough to give the Democrats a blank check by electing Bill Clinton and a Democrat congress. But, they showed their leftism and got spanked in the 1994 midterms by a resurgent Republican party. And, much to the punditry class, they did not relinquish control for 12 years.

Fear brings out the worst in people. And that is what we are seeing here. Yes, there are people on our side that buy into fear and produce a lame and very incendiary photo shop to make it out that Sen. Messiah Barack is a total stereotype. You know, the watermelon-eating, Kool-aid drinking generation-to-generation welfare family. It is disgusting.

But it is nothing like people who are wearing t-shirts with the most insulting profanity to lob at anyone. It shows a depth of hatred. And why is there so-much hated against Gov. Palin? Because she is so normal? Because she exudes an amazing confidence? Because she is a threat?

All I do know is that we have a really bad discourse and I think that it is going to get worse before it gets better. Debate is one thing, but the way the debate is going is troubling.

We need to write and talk to each other, not at each other. Stop with the stereotypes of each other. And most important, let us be snarky without being disgusting.

These kids posed for this photos for the shock value. They are also very naive thinking that Conservatives won't use it for the internet. I am glad "WE" are using the tactics often used by Liberals to shove it back into their faces. I will add the photo to my blog to spread the photo's as far as I can. They should be exploited for what they really are, stupid kids.

I think you're clutching pearls about the swearing, dude.

Even you're favorite presidential candidate called his own wife a cunt in front of others.

You're also employing the popular wingnut technique of false equivalence.

And, finally, you're really deluded.

A 20-point Obama lead in the polls? Gimme a break. That's just not how things work.

But a serious ass-kicking for John McCain? No doubt, my friend.

Big storm soon come.

Really, Mr. Snarkle? In 1996, with everything going President Clinton's way, he did have leads as high as 20% over Sen. Dole. And he ended up winning reelection by only eight percent. That is with Ross Perot in. So, when economic times are bad, the Dems win, right? So, Sen. Obama SHOULD be ahead by larger margins than he is. The story about Sen. McCain saying that comment about his wife is about as credible as the "kill him" comment never uttered at the Palin rally in Pennsylvania. Let me ask you this. IF Sen. McCain wins election, what will you do? Will you run and hide in Canada? OOPS! I guess not because they just gave the Conservative party more seats in government. Mexico? OOPS again! A center-right government there too. I mean, usually all the lefties scream that they will leave the country if any Republican is elected. As far as the swearing. I am not a perfect person. But I do try to set a good example. And yes I sometimes fail at that. I do not think it is really all that nessecary if the point one is trying to make stands alone on the merit. On this it is very, very clear we have a real difference.

If Mad Jack was at zero and Obama at 100, wingnuts would still grasp at ways to spin it as bad news for dems.

Whatever floats your boat, my friend.

Since we elect the president via the electoral college, by state, and not by national popular vote, the whole "who's up by how much" discussion is pretty much irrelevant anyway, eh?

And on the score, we'll see if Mad Jack can crack two hundred. We'll see how he does hanging on to states that went for Mister Bush.

And we already know how the Republican National Committee is looking at this race, since they've pulled funding away from Mad Jack (and he's depended on them mightily, since he ran through his public funding).

The NRC's turned their attention to trying to hang on to some senate seats in NH, NC, GA, KY...

It's called the 'finger in the dike' strategy.

Those, my friend, are what're called facts. But perhaps you know things that the NRC doesn't.

Better take cover. Big storm coming.

Who knows who will winthis election. But, when Obama should be up by 20 and he is only up by 2 or 3 in most polls, that means that many people are still questioning whether Obama can lead this great nation.

when Obama should be up by 20

I like this new wingnut line of reasoning. "OK, Obama may be winning. But he's not winning by enough!"

Cherry pick whatever polls you like, to support whatever it is you want to think.

Delusions can keep you happy, if only by illusion.

Just get ready. Big storm coming.

It wasn't just 2 kids wearing those shirts.
and absolutely, there are idiots on both sides, but it seems there are more on theirs.

as for talking to each other.. won't happen, too much anger and vitriol with the liberal left. I have some friends who have liberal friends who won't speak to them anymore because they are not Obama-lovers. HOw pathetic is that?! Shows their true colors.

Icog, coincidence that your comment comes right after the angry left in Mr. Snarkle! As for you Mr. Snarkle, please, can you come up with some other line than "Big storm coming!" Or "Big strom soon come!" As far as state polls, generally they do follow national trends. As far as cherry-picking, it is just some factual analysis, not emotional caterwalling that you and your crowd are doing. Look, you never did answer my question. What are you going to do WHEN John McCain is elected president? Come on, let the world know!

Rightwingsnarkle said...

What are you going to do WHEN John McCain is elected president?

Is that an actual question? I mean, are you serious?

That question is way beyond hypothetical. You've fallen through the looking glass, my friend. There can be no answer to a delusion.

My question to you is - when will you finally break the grip of your distorted thinking?

If that's too hard, try this - how, in your parallel universe, can Mad Jack possibly put together an electoral strategy that adds up to 270 EV's? What states could his numbers possibly come from?

Finally, how's that Angels/Dodgers World Series coming along?

PS - I've given you a shout out in my most recent post.

righty64: "I do not think [swearing] is really all that nessecary if the point one is trying to make stands alone on the merit."

That's the crux of why the left is so unhinged: They HAVE no point to make.

With nothing but promises and hope from your everyday Chicago-style political thug to go on, they have to resort to the basest attacks imaginable.
