The Complete List Of The Broken Promises Of The Dear Leader

Jim Geraghty over at the Campaign Spot has one line that seems to be used, oh, at least once a week regarding the Dear Leader, President Obama:

"All statements from Barack Obama come with an expiration date. All of them."

And, Mr. Geraghty is spot on because, well it is the truth.
Someone must have asked Mr. Geraghty to compile a list of the statements/promises made by the Dear Leader, President Obama, since he became a presidential candidate in 1961, er 2006.
Well, here it is!
The Complete List Of Obama Statement Expiration Dates.
I do not know how Mr. Geraghty did it. This is a really long list. And to think, the administration is still in it early days!
Because these expiration dates happen with such frequency, I will tell you that my current favorite is the Dear Leader, President Obama's position on recess appointments:

RECESS APPOINTMENTS

STATEMENT: Then-Senator Obama declared that a recess appointment is “damaged goods” and has “less credibility” than a normal appointment. August 25, 2005.

EXPIRATION DATE: March 27, 2010: “If, in the interest of scoring political points, Republicans in the Senate refuse to exercise that responsibility, I must act in the interest of the American people and exercise my authority to fill these positions on an interim basis.”

Hey, and it is not just one or two recess appointments that the Dear Leader, President Obama, made over the weekend but 15. Hey, if you are going to break a statement/promise, go in head first I always say!
It is fun reading.
It shows that Mr. Hopey Changy is not more than a run-of-the-mill corrupt Chicago politician that made it all the way to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, D. C.
Oh, the expiration date on that address for the Dear Leader?
January 20, 2013.

Ricky Martin Come Out As "Fortunate" Gay Man-And We Are Shocked?!

The one time member of the South American boy-band, Ricky Martin, admitted today what I think much of the world already knew.
That he is gay.
And so, should the world stop? Nah. Not at all.
While many think, including Barbara Walters herself, that when she questioned him about his sexuality, it was the moment many decided that he was gay.
No, it was not the magic moment.
My theory is that there are not many heterosexual men that have two children as he did kind of sort of gave it away.
Also, I think that the real reason he came out is to test the waters at making some new music.
I think that he wanted to see how his fans would react.
Yes, I am cynical on this one.
When it comes to the greenback, and one is an entertainer, there is not much that one won't do for it.
I hope that Mr. Martin is happy and continues to be a good father to his children.
But the shock value of this announcement is natch.

The Tea Parties, Sarah Palin And The GOP

Yesterday in Searchlight, Nevada, anywhere from 6,000 to 10,000 people, mostly self-identified Tea Party folks gave the senate Majority Leader, Dingy Harry Reid notice. That his time as a senator is almost up.
As an aside, keep in mind that the link is one to the Associated Press, a seemingly front group for the Obamawhore media in general. Of course they had to find some of the most extreme views to put in the article. Finding someone in the crowd that wanted proof the Dear Leader, President Obama, is an American citizen.
But back on point.
Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin was the headliner of this protest and she led the charge that the Dear Leader, President Obama, Speaker of the House, Jackass Nancy Pelosi and Sen. Dingy Harry are bankrupting the United States. And her message to Jackass Nancy and Dingy Harry?
YOU'RE FIRED!
Of course, that will come in November. Then, God willing, the American voter will vote out Dingy Harry completely and that the Democrats will lose their House majority and Jackass Nancy is reduced to House Minority Leader.
So, what does this all have to do with Mrs. Palin and the Republican party?
Well, it appears that many people are upset that Mrs. Palin endorsed Sen. John "F--- You" McCain in his reelection bid over former Republican congressman J. D. Hayworth. Many think, and are correct, that Mr. Hayworth is more in line with Mrs. Palin's views than Sen. "F--- You" McCain.
But there is something called loyalty. And Mrs. Palin is loyal to Sen. "F--- You" McCain the man. After all, it was Sen. "F--- You" McCain that asked her to be the Republican Vice-Presidential nominee. He gave her the platform, so to speak. She is where she is because of the one correct decision that Team McCain did in the whole Death March of a campaign in 2008.
So for me, I will give her a pass on this one.
I will also offer this about Mr. Hayworth.
I think that he will make a great senator if he does best Sen. "F--- You" McCain. But my problem in so much that there is one is that Mr. Hayworth has been there and done that. He was in the class of '94 that brought the Republicans to control congress for the first time in 40 years.
I do not see him as any more different or revolutionary than Newt Gingrich is today. They are both great thinkers and leaders. But I think that their time has past.
The Republican party is the natural home for those that identify themselves as Tea Party people. And the party need not be afraid of the overwhelming majority of those who call themselves Tea Partiers.
I have been to three different Tea Party events. Outside of the Democrat Lyndon LaRouche crazies, they have been very mixed groups. Racially, religiously and what their emphasis is on. All agree that the federal, and by extension state and local governments are encroaching on everyday freedoms in this Great Land. That is the glue that holds the movement together.
To be clear, there are few if any Democrats that even realize what the Tea Party movement is all about. They want to continue to peddle that these are just racists that have a hate for the Dear Leader, President Obama, because he is the first black president.
PLEASE!
We do not like his policies.
I actually think that if I had the chance to meet the Dear Leader, President Obama, and politics were off the table, we would have fun talking sports and being a father to young daughters in such a high stress job. See, none of us that I know in Tea Party land hate the man. We hate the policies.
Now, Mrs. Palin is making a genuine attempt to reach out to the Tea Party folk as quite possibly the most popular Republican among the rank-and-file voters. That is why she spoke yesterday. Right after she gave a glowing speech for Sen. "F--- You" McCain at a political rally in Mesa, Arizona. She is a Republican that has relations with both the establishment wing of the GOP and these potential new voters. And future politicians.
Despite this outreach, we can count on those in the conservative and or Republican establishment that want nothing to do with the Tea Party movement. They are in their little Washington cocoons and believe all the crap spewed out by their enablers in the Obamawhore media.
Fine for them. They seem to enjoy sticking it in the eye of the average Republican. These people seem to be all doom and gloom. They think that we should just accept what the Dear Leader, President Obama, and his minions are doing to this nation. Just that we can manage it better.
Here is the wrap around.
Republicans need to embrace and welcome the Tea Party people into our fold. Tea Party people need to realize the Republican party is their home. No Libertarian attempts to co-opt their message. Sarah Palin gets it. Maybe her endorsement of Sen. "F--- You" McCain gives her an ear to bend, so to speak. If the Republicans do not bring in these people, we will be going for minority party status for a long time to come.

It's Official-Over And Done For 24

With this announcement, the Fox Broadcast network hit drama 24 will end it eight-season run in May.
And while it may have gone on a season or so too long, the way that this drama set apart from others is what made it compelling.
As one that has watched many a television drama, there has never been one that can pack so much in an hour as 24 does.
I have been faithfully watching the series for the third one in a row. And this kind of sort delves into the Iran-United States conflict. And there is something for everyone.
Kiefer Sutherland is tremendous as Jack Bauer. Always doing the wrong thing for all the right reasons. Typical American hero.
And Mrs. Right View From The Left Coast and I love Mary Rajksub's Chloe character. And her perpetual scowl.
But, alas, all will be done after this season.
24 has had a great run and will continue to live on in DVDs and DVRs.

It's Earth Hour Tonight-LIGHT EVERYTHING UP!

It appears that this Earth Hour event is now going to be an annual event on the Globaloney Warming cult calendar.
I will simply let you read the link from last year's 'celebration' of Earth Hour.
Remember, the magic hour to turn EVERY FREAKING THING ON IN YOUR HOME is 8:30pm.
What makes this more enjoyable this year is the fact the Globaloney Warming, aka "climate change" is not only being challenged but utterly discredited. For spreading outright lies. For panicking people. And for what I still submit is the real motive. More government control of the economy and people's lives.
Again, please do not fall for it. The way to counter the lies is to do what I will do.
LIGHT EVERYTHING UP!

Why I Don't Listen To NPR

I am always amazed to find that some people I know that listen to National Public Radio. Some of these people even identify themselves as conservatives and Republicans.
FTR, I do not listen to NPR. Maybe I should since whether I like it or not, some of my tax dollars go to support NPR.
But, here is a reason that I do not listen to NPR.
Why are they changing the language to describe those that support the current abortion laws and those that oppose them?
Well, here is directly from the above link:

On the air, we should use "abortion rights supporter(s)/advocate(s)" and "abortion rights opponent(s)" or derivations thereof (for example: "advocates of abortion rights"). It is acceptable to use the phrase "anti-abortion", but do not use the term "pro-abortion rights".

In the paragraph that precedes that, it claims that it is seeking neutral language wading into the abortion debate.
Part of why that is not possible is the fact they describe abortion as a "right".
To many of us that oppose abortion on demand, we do not see that having unfettered access to abortions as a "right".
Even the current terms I find a bit silly.
When describing a pro-abortion advocate as "pro-choice", it is not entirely an accurate term. The Obamawhore media can not bring itself to accurately identify these people as in fact being pro-abortion.
I would have to argue that there are three categories.
There are those that advocate for unfettered access to abortion. For any girl or woman, right up to the ninth month. There is no other way to describe these people as anything but pro-abortion.
Then there are those that at the very least want access to abortions heavily restricted. Yes, there are those that want abortion banned outright. Then there are those like myself that want to see heavy restrictions and banning most abortion. I would leave some room to determine if abortion is appropriate if the life of the mother is threatened or a rape is involved. In that sense, I think the accurate term is pro-life.
Then there are those people that truly find themselves in the middle of the two.
There are those who feel that the option of abortion should be available with restrictions. And those that really believe that a woman should have some kind of choice. All the options laid out for a woman to make the ultimate decision.
That is the true definition of what pro-choice means.
The reality is that the new NPR language is not in any sense neutral. The language implies that it is settled that abortion is a right and anyone opposed is against this right.
Language is important and NPR is not being neutral in any sense of the words it is using.
And it is one reason I exercise my choice and do not listen to NPR.

Are We Living Another Big Lie?

To hear our friends on the other side, there is a near civil war breaking out since the passage of the so-called health care "reform" scam.
Why House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Maryland) raised the hackles that opponents of the just passed "reform" scam were threatening members of congress. Mr. Hoyer even went so far as to say that the Republican party should condemn these threats. As if somehow these "threats" were being coordinated by the Republican National Committee and right in Chairman Michael Steele's office.
Then the House Majority Whip, James Clyburn (D-SC) said this gem that Republican opponents were 'aiding and abetting terrorism against Democrats'.
These two accusations come on the heels of Democrats accusing Tea Party protesters of using racial and sexist epitaphs against Democrat lawmakers who walked into the Capitol building over the weekend.
Of course, no one is being investigated and or arrested in these "threats" and heckling.
So, let me introduce you to The Big Lie.
Yea, I know, hard to imagine the minions of the Dear Leader, President Obama, or the Democrat National Committee, possibly staging these "events". After all, while the Obamawhore media ignores the fact that none of the accusations against the Tea Party protesters have been proven (thanks to video and sound), it does the bidding of the Dear Leader, President Obama's administration.
What is an example of The Big Lie.
Consider this.
In 1933, in Germany there was the beginning of a new era in Germany. Some guy got elected to be Chancellor and he promised a lot of new things for the beleaguered German people. Then suddenly, a mere four weeks after this guy became Chancellor, the Reichstag, or parliment, is set on fire. This new German leader does not like the Communists. And by sheer coincidence, there is a suspect who happens to be a Communist from The Netherlands.
Now, who was this German leader. I think his name was, I don't remember. Was it. Hmm. Maybe Schkilgruber? No, wait a minute. YES! Adolf Hitler.
The whole Reichstag episode has been debated over the years. The fact that the Dutch man was convicted and executed meant nothing. A future German court overturned the verdict.
The point is that it is not out of the realm of possibility that the Democrats are trying to gin up their base by making these accusations with absolutely no proof. OK, they have some voice mails that Rep. Bart Stupid, er Stupak, was only happy to give to the Obamawhore media now that he is the hero of those who passed the so-called health care "reform" scam.
Name some names people. And do not act like whinny crybabies. After all, you won. If this legislation is so peachy and wonderful, why are you giving these "threats" the time of day?
I throw this out there because I am one of those incendiary folk. Wanting to stir the pot.
But I really put this out there for those of us to be aware that the modern Democrat party can stoop to levels not seen in our lifetimes. And we have to be vigilant.
I hope that this is not some Big Lie. And if these "threats" are credible, then these imbeciles should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
And if these are not credible, then shame on these instigators and their enablers in the Obamawhore media.

Memo To Sen. Cornyn: Shut Your Hole!

UGH!
If there is nothing worse than now having the so-called health care reform now the law of the land, it is a senior Republican senator trying to nuance his way around the core Republican message: Repeal and Replace.
It appears that Texas Sen. John Cornyn did not the the Republican memo.
That Republicans are running on the pledge to Repeal and Replace.
It appears that Sen. Cornyn is, well to coin a phrase, using a little nuance in reaction to the passage and signing of the Dear Leader, President Obama's only accomplishment to date.
Here is what Sen. Cornyn had to say:

In the wake of the passage of health care reform, nearly the entire slate of Republican senatorial candidates seems ready to run on a repeal of the bill. But now, the lawmaker overseeing their election strategy is softening the message. Rather than promising to scrap the bill in its entirety, the GOP will pledge to just get rid of the more controversial parts…

“There is non-controversial stuff here like the preexisting conditions exclusion and those sorts of things,” the Texas Republican said. “Now we are not interested in repealing that. And that is frankly a distraction.”

What the GOP will work to repeal, Cornyn explained, are provisions that result in “tax increases on middle class families,” language that forced “an increase in the premium costs for people who have insurance now” and the “cuts to Medicare” included in the legislation…

The senator’s comments on Tuesday also included a push to restore funds for Medicare Advantage — an odd political moment, considering the GOP’s self-promotion as the party that trims the fat off entitlement programs.

Again, UGH!
No, Sen. Cornyn, the whole abomination must be repealed. Not the stuff that does or does not poll well. EVERYTHING!
Keep this frightening thought in mind. This Sen. Cornyn is the head of the National Republican Senatorial Committee. He is the guy that is in charge of the 2010 Republican election effort in the senate.
So far, he is awe-inspiring.
Now to be fair, Sen. Cornyn claims that he was misquoted. So, here is a kind of sort of retraction from Sen. Cornyn:

Some media outlets have misrepresented my position on repealing and replacing the President’s $2.6 trillion health care bill. Make no mistake about it: I fully support repealing this Washington takeover of health care and replacing it with a bipartisan bill that lowers the cost of health care.

“Republicans have long pointed out that there are areas of health care reform where there is bipartisan agreement. Yet, instead of working with Republicans to solve issues of bipartisan concern such as pre-existing condition exclusions, Democrats insisted on a purely partisan bill that included massive tax hikes, trillions of dollars in new taxpayer spending, and cuts to Medicare, while failing to address rising health care costs.

“We will do what Democrats failed to do; start with common-sense measures and craft a truly bipartisan bill that does not raise taxes, does not pillage $500 billion from a bankrupt Medicare program and does not increase premiums on working families.

Hey, Johnny. Is it all right that I call ya' Johnny? Here is clue number one.
If the Democrats really wanted a bipartisan deal, they would have actually included Republicans from the beginning. Not in the end-game as window dressing. That is why Republicans must run on the pledge to repeal the whole abomination. Yes, unless there is a total sea change, the Dear Leader, President Obama, will veto it. And more than likely, congress would not be able to over ride the veto. But the message will be fast and hard for the Dear Leader. There is a new team in town and you better work with that team.
Also, Johnny, what you suggest by keeping the "good stuff" means that you are looking at the situation from a position of weakness. Be bold, Johnny! Talk the talk! That the only way any thing of the original abomination that may be a good thing has to be to start from scratch.
REPEAL AND REPLACE!
Johnny, we plebeians do not want to hear inside-the-beltway crap. No nuance! We, the frustrated citizens want to vote for candidates that stand up to the Democrats. From the Dear Leader, President Obama, on down to Jackass Nancy Pelosi and Dingy Harry Reid.
This administration has committed the largest nationalization of private business since the whole panoply of New Deal legislation in the 1930s.
For the first time, the public has in a loud and unmistakable voice shouted HELL NO! To an expanse of the Welfare State.
Yet the Democrat congress passed this abomination.
People want to take to those that committed this grievous act. They do not want to be led by a pantywaist.
Now, Johnny, get back to Texas and man up!
We want to see a Republican senate come November 5th!
The best way that you can do that Sen. Johnny Cornyn is this.
SHUT YOUR HOLE!

A Reminder For Democrats For 2010

Last March, I stumbled onto a piece by Jeffrey Lord of The American Spectator about the contrast of the 1964 Democrat election landslide and the 1966 midterm elections. And I had a post on it here.
Keep in mind that Medicare had already been passed by healthy majorities in both houses of congress in 1965. And a helluva lot of the so-called "Great Society" was already in place by the time the 1966 midterm elections had taken place.
Even with a Johnsonwhore media (President Lyndon B. Johnson), the Republicans took 47 seats in the House. And made marginal gains in the senate.
This is something to think about fellow Tea Party people.
April 15 is coming fast my friends.
We have a chance to make last April 15 seem like nothing.
We need to channel our energy to support candidates that will restore common sense to Washington. And Sacramento. And Pasadena. Every where in the United States.
You, the people, are not going to take this assault on health care lying down. You are going to remind these Democrats from now until November.
Tomorrow I will comment about the lessons that should have been learned in this saga and where we really go from here.
But read the article I linked. And keep in mind. 47 seats would give the Republicans the House.

So The Abomination Goes To The Dear Leader

In the end, I suppose, it had to happen this way. That the Democrat controlled House with Jackass Nancy Pelosi and her Goon Squad cutting deals like one cuts bread, passed the abomination known here as the so-called health care "reform" scam.
The vote in the end was actually rather close as the most important of three votes passed 219-212.
As expected, my congressman, Adam Schiff, or as he is known here as Adam Schift, did vote for the abomination. You can donate to John Colbert's congressional campaign here. He will be the Republican nominee to replace Rep. Schift in the November election.
In fact, the California congressional delegation voted on the abomination on a straight party-line vote. So much for alleged "Blue Dog" Democrat congressmen Dennis Cardoza, Jim Costa and Loretta Sanchez.
Now to be fair, some 34 Democrat congressmen did vote against this abomination. It may or may not save their jobs in November (I do not think it will), but they did vote against it in the end. All 178 Republican members of the House voted against this abomination and for the American people.
Please keep the link of the vote on your computer.
The reason is that we are not going to let this scam become the law of the land quietly. Nor should we. After all, as I noted yesterday, this scam only has the support of 38% of the American public.
Folks, I am positive that this is not the end of this debate. Sure, the Dear Leader, President Obama, will sign this into law immediately. But, there will be court challenges and an election coming up in November. And that new congress will reopen this debate for the crux of the legislation does not even begin to kick in until 2014.
I AM READY MORE THAN EVER TO FIGHT! WE WILL SEND CONSERVATIVE, COMMON SENSE REPUBLICANS TO CONGRESS IN NOVEMBER! NOW IS NO TIME TO GIVE UP!

The Nationalization Of Health Care Is On

It appears that with votes to spare, only Democrat members of the House of Representatives have voted 224-203 to suspend the Rule and vote to advance the so-called health care "reform" scam.

And we have a so-called "pro-life", "moderate" Democrat, Rep. Bart Stupid, er Stupak (D & Soon to be voted out-Mich), to thank for advancing this abomination.

All it took to get Rep. Stupid, er Stupak, on board was the promise of the Dear Leader, President Obama, signing an Executive Order that would ban federal funding of abortion.

The little photoshop below says it all.

Here is a little primer on what an Executive Order means.

It is as good as long as that president is in office. If even that long. Oh and it does not trump the actual law. If that were the case, we would not need a legislature and would be ruled by a king or queen. Or in this case, a Dear Leader.

But why would Rep. Stupid, gosh darn it, Stupak, agree to such a non-commitment from the most pro-abortion president in history if he is really pro-life?

Because he is a Democrat politician first and foremost. And as we now see, there are very, very few Democrat politicians that would truly put their careers at risk to vote for pro-life legislation. But, they will listen to people like the Dear Leader, President Obama, Jackass Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House and Dingy Harry Reid, Majority Leader of the Senate. These folks basically put the screws to Rep. Stupak and his so-called "pro-life" caucus. The threat of money drying up for reelection trumps protecting human life before coming out of the womb.

Now that we know Rep. Stupak is but a cheap crack whore for selling out the pro-life movement, there is something we can do about it.

Meet Dan Benishek. He is the Republican that Rep. Stupak will face for reelection in November. Now, go to his Facebook page because the website is under construction. Mr. Benishek will be the most popular Republican from now until election day in November. Because he will be the 2010 Michael Flanagan. A man that will have brought down a titan of the left. Oh, and before one argues how "moderate" Rep. Stupak is, his American Conservative Union lifetime rating is 21%. I guess in Democratland, that is a "moderate".

I hate to admit this, but we on the other side put too much in these so-called "moderates" within the Democrat party. After all, it is a political party that has corruption down to a fine-art form. And for many so-called "moderates", all it took was a little cajoling from the Dear Leader, President Obama, Jackass Nancy and her Goon Squad and Dingy Harry Reid and his phony carrots for support.

What the Democrat party has done with this ram down is awakened the movement to defeat them in the mid term elections in November and defeat the Dear Leader, President Obama, in 2012.

And the fight to stop the nationalization of health care in the United States will not end with this vote and or a presidential signature.

38% Favor The So-Called Health Care "Reform" Scam-And The Dems Are Pushing It Anyway

In the latest polling data from Pew Research, it shows that a rip-roaring 38% of those polled favor the ram-down so-called health care "reform" scam that will be voted on tomorrow.

If you go to the link, yes there is a sharp partisan divide.

But, and this is the key but, independents are very much against the so-called heath care "reform" scam by large numbers.

Take a look at those numbers. A strong plurality of 56% of independent voters oppose the current bill or bills moving in the House of Representatives.

Yet the Democrat controlled House under the stellar leadership of Speaker Jackass Nancy Pelosi is doing everything it can to ram through a bill that only 38% of people support.

Everyone has a theory as to to why this is being done in such a way at this time.

The one that I believe to be right is that the left believes that because so-called health care "reform" failed in 1993 under then President Clinton, that is why the Republicans had such an election romp. They believe that their base was demoralized and did not show up.

The reality is that the American people were fed up. They saw their taxes rise. The corruption in congress was non-stop. They saw a president and a congress not doing their job. Trying to pass legislation that, surprise, the American people did not want.

The Democrat leadership really believes that if they pass this by any means necessary, the issue will go away and the Democrat base will be happy and turn out to keep congress in the hands of the Democrats.

Well, these people better get off the wacky tobacky they are smoking. Or the Night Train or Thunderbird they are drinking.

The aggregate congressional polling according to Real Clear Politics is at a great 19%.

Yes, 19%.

No these are not just Fox News polls. They are from all the major polling companies. In fact, the latest Gallup poll shows this number

Approve: 16%
Disapprove: 80%

And the four percent that are not sure.

These numbers will not improve between now and November.

In fact, the Democrat base may be so confident that they will not show up in the November. And maybe it will not matter because the White House and congress have lost the independents. And losing independents means losing elections. Ask the Republicans in congress right now how the fire up the base theory only works out.

One other note about independents.

Many are indeed conservatives. Many of these self-identified conservatives do not align with the Republican party because they feel the party does not reflect them on a whole host of issues.

The whole reason that the Democrats are pushing this so-called health care "reform" scam is that they really believe this will keep them in power.

We shall see that in November.

And remember, there is still time to keep the pressure on so that the Democrats do not get more than 210 votes on the so-called health care reform "scam"!

Health Care "Reform" Scam Update

Despite the Big Mo' you are reading and hearing about that Jackass Nancy Pelosi and her Goon Squad are rounding up recalcitrant Democrats to vote for the health care "reform" scam, here is a fly in the ointment.
According to this in The Weekly Standard, no matter how many votes Jackass Nancy and the Goon Squad turn around, without Rep. Bart Stupak and his pro-life coalition, they do not have the votes. There is a lot of inside baseball in the link, but the bottom line is that the Democrats do not have the votes.
So, keep the pressure on. Call these members of congress. And also call these members as well. E-mail them all as well. If they are on the fence, remind them that you have the power to vote them out of office. Tell them not to trust Jackass Nancy and her Goon Squad. Remember, the magic number is 210. Keep the Dems from getting more than that in the vote on Sunday!

Encourage Some California Congressmen To Vote No On Obamacare

Even here in the once Golden State, there are at least a couple of Democrat congressmen that tacitly pass themselves off as "Blue Dog" Dems. They sound moderate at election time yet vote strangely to the left of their voters.
But, no matter that minor detail.
Here is a way to make your voice heard, whether you live in their districts or not. Whether you live in California or not.
These three members of congress, Dennis Cardoza, Jim Costa and Loretta Sanchez, like to tell voters they are fiscally responsible. Well, tell them that if they vote for the abomination known as so-called health care "reform", you will not forget them at election time. If you do live in their district, tell them that if they intend to vote yes, you will vote against them. And donate money to their Republican opponent. And that you will tell your friends in the district and they will do the same. And that you will tell people across the United States so that they can donate cash to their opponent.
Here is the contact info for the three aforementioned congressmen:

Congressman Dennis Cardoza

Email form HERE

Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez
District Phone: (714) 621-0102
Washington Phone: (202) 225-2965

Some caveats.
Messrs. Cardoza and Costa are attempting to be bribed by opening up some water spickets to some desperate farmers who need it. Oh, the spickets are on to "protect" the California Delta Smelt. It is an out and out bribe. If one was not a member of congress, they would be with Bernie Madoff.
I do not put much stock in the "Blue Dog" image Mrs. Sanchez puts out there. But she may be in some real election trouble. Her district is becoming much more Asian. And Republican. And her GOP opponent, state assemblyman Van Tran, is her toughest opponent in a while. A little pressure may not hurt to put on Mrs. Sanchez.
I will add my own congressman, Adam Schiff. OK, you can call him Adam Schift. He is going to vote for this abomination. But, you can let him know that you will not vote for his reelection. And that you will actively campaign for and donate to his Republican opponent, John Colbert. Rep. Schiff may have won reelection last year with ease. But in a year of angst and visceral hatred of the crooks in Washington, Mr. Schiff can live in the bubble. But like many before him, he may lose come November.

Do not believe that this abomination is inevitable. Call and let your voice be heard. It is the best way to make sure that the Dear Leader, President Obama, Jackass Nancy Pelosi and her Goon Sqaud do not get more than 210 votes!

HT: California Republican Party @ www.cagop.org

I Still Say The Vote Will Be Against So-Called Health Care "Reform"

I know, the Dear Leader, President Obama, cancelled his Asia trip once again. The vaunted CBO "score" has come out. And there are still a lot of Democrats that are still wondering what to do on the so-called health care "reform" scam.
In which I will continue to predict that if the abomination does come to a vote on the floor of the House, it will lose. I will continue to stand by my count of 210-220 being the vote tally.
There is no good way out on this issue.
If wavering Democrat House members turn tail under pressure from the Dear Leader, President Obama, Jackass Nancy Pelosi and her Goon Squad, they might as well kiss their congressional careers over. If these wavering Democrats vote with the people, who are against this abomination and actually want congress to start over, they may have a chance to retain their seats in the November election.
Those left-wing Democrats that voted no the first time around are coming home. They do not want to be the blame for the Dear Leader, President Obama's singular issue going down in flames. And because they figure this is the best they can do for now, they will take it.
Centrist Democrats from Republican leaning districts have a high-wire act that they may not be able to walk across. Many of these centrist Democrats have serious concerns about the cost and benefit factors. Some are the pro-life Democrats that worry this abomination will provide federal funding of abortion.
So, if one figures there are about 175 true-believer, left-wing Democrats in the caucus, that leaves about 82 centrists. And they are rather divided. So, say about 40 cave and vote for the abomination, that leaves 42 to vote against the abomination. That would leave the Democrats one vote away from abomination.
My guess is that there are a few true-believers that think the abomination does not go far enough. They do not see a better chance than now to get there. They may break and vote against the abomination. I would put that number at roughly five to seven. And maybe the cave among the centrists is more like 30 to 35. That would mean as many as 45 to 50 will vote against the abomination. And there is not one Republican lifting a finger to get the Democrats out of the mess of their own making.
That is why I believe that there is no more than 210 Democrats willing to walk the plank for the Dear Leader, President Obama or Jackass Nancy.
Oh, there is one other thing that I left out.
The one thing that transcends what I wrote above is the E word. Or better yet, the R word. No, not reconciliation. R E E L E C T I O N.
That may be what tips the balance away from the Democrat party leadership. From the Dear Leader, President Obama all the way down.
Remember, the Dear Leader, President Obama, will be gone in 2016. More than likely, Jackass Nancy will be long gone by then as well. So will much of the current Democrat congressional leadership.
But, so many of those elected in 2006 and 2008 may want to stick around for a while. And that selfishness may transcend a phone call from the Dear Leader, President Obama. Or pressure from Jackass Nancy and her Goon Squad.
We have to keep the pressure on. Call your congressman, no matter what they publicly say they will vote. E-mail. Send even snail mail. Anything that is legal and may get their attention.
Come Monday, the number 210 will hopefully be the best sounding number. And the final nail in the so-called health care "reform" scam/abomination.

The Count To Defeat The Dear Leader And Obamacare

Thanks to Gabe Malor over at The Ace of Spades, we are given a public head count on those who have stated how they will vote on the abomination known as Obamacare.
There are a lot of caveats, but so far it appears that the numbers are in the negative for Jackass Nancy Pelosi and her Goon Squad to force a vote to pass the senate bill as is and hope some fixes are done later.
According to Gabe's numbers, Jackass Nancy has a count of 194 for the abomination. She needs 216. That puts her 12 short of the magic number.
Surprisingly to me, this may prove Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich) right. That Jackass Nancy is not even at 200 yes votes for the abomination.
But the Dems may have an Ace up their sleeves to avoid taking such a vote in the first place.
Jackass Nancy and the Goon Squad may simply claim that the senate bill "deem" passed as is. It is convoluted and has been used before by both parties. But never on such a piece of legislation.
Oh, and when people will talk about reconciliation and this potential procedure being used before, remind them that it was never on legislation that will affect every man, woman, transgendered, child, born and unborn, in the United States. Never, evah!
As more light is shed on this convoluted procedure, the harder it will be to try it in the first place.
Which leads back to where this will be going.
I stand by my predicition.
If there is an up-and-down vote on this abomination, it will fail by a vote of 210-220.
Keep following the yeoman work of Gabe Malor over at Ace of Spades.

Health Care "Reform" Scam Will Not Get Out Of House

I do not like to make such a bold prediction with out a round number.
The prediction that Jackass Nancy Pelosi and her Goon Squad do not have the requisite number of suicide representatives to get the so-called health care "reform" scam out of the House.
I do not necessarily share Rep. Bart Stupak's (D-Mich) optimism that the Democrat-controlled House does not even have 200 votes.
So, here is how the vote will go down.
The final tally will be 210-220 and the bill will burn in flames.
Bill Kristol over at the Weekly Standard has been saying that there will not be a bill this year.
I think that he is right.
And I think that this will kill it once and for all and the Dear Leader, President Obama, will have to go back to the drawing board if he wants any kind of bill on so-called health care "reform".
But, come back here this weekend and see if your humble blogger is correct.

Thw Washington Post Praises Sen. Lindsay Graham-What Can Go Wrong?!

Ah, to be Sen. Lindsay Graham (R-SC) when he is getting praised by Dana Milbank in the Washington Post!
What a joy it must be for the senior senator from South Carolina to go down this road:

"The people that call me a RINO would call Ronald Reagan a RINO," he protested. "Reagan worked with Tip O'Neill to increase taxes to save Social Security."

Ah, Lindsay, whats the matter? You can not take that there are Republicans that see things differently from you? Is that it?
Now, I think that by and large, Sen. Graham is one that I would refer to as instinctively conservative. The natural thought process is that of a conservative.
But there are some really serious issues that Sen. Graham just gets wrong.
One of those is the willingness to deal with the Dear Leader, President Obama on two issues.
The closure of the Guantanamo Bay detention center and so-called illegal immigration "reform".
The issue that Mr. Milbank is focused on is the closure of the detention center.
The Dear Leader, President Obama, made it a hallmark in the opening days of his administration. Why the Dear Leader, President Obama, went so far as to sign an executive order that the detention center would be closed by January 20, 2010.
OOPS!
Well, January 20, 2010 has come and gone. And there are still enemy combatants still imprisoned at Guantanamo Bay.
And to make matters worse, the Attorney General, Eric Holder, decided that hey, a really swell idea would be to try the mastermind of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Khalid Sheik Mohammad, not only in civilian court. But right in New York City, mere blocks from the World Trade Center site.
And now, Mr. Holder and the Dear Leader, President Obama, are backtracking on that.
Here comes Sen. Graham offering the Dear Leader, President Obama, a, ta da!-compromise!
The Dear Leader, President Obama, can send Mr. Mohammad to a military tribunal and he would help provide the votes to fund the closing of the Guantanamo Bay detention center. And also try another way to try the baddest of the bad terrorists.
This is why Sen. Graham does not get it.
See, the terrorists do not care one wit about our legal system. Or how some people would rather make an impression on the world than protect the American people. The terrorists will use our legal system and the natural sense of fair play against us. That will make us less safe. It will embolden those who aim to kill as many of us as possible, disrupt and destroy our way of life.
That is why we must use the military tribunals, not civilian courts to try those who have or will do any of the above. And, those that we are holding should not be held on American soil. That of the 48 contiguous states, Alaska or Hawai'i. And yes, these are enemy combatants and they have declared war on the United States.
That is why it is mind-numbing to conservatives when someone like Sen. Graham, a JAG in the marine corp, wants to cut this kind of deal with an administration that will bend it on its ear.
I do believe that Sen. Graham thinks this is a good compromise.
But, what Sen. Graham does not mention in his attempt to paint former President Reagan as a RINO is this.
Mr. Reagan had a Democrat-controlled House and a Republican senate. He knew that he could not do what really needed to be done in regards to Social Security. He needed a compromise. And a commission decided the tax hikes that "saved" Social Security. Which may go belly-up well before 2020.
Some compromises are a good thing.
What Sen. Graham wants to do in regards to Guantanamo Bay and military tribunals is not the way to go.
And getting praised in the pages of the Washington Post adds little to those that think his ideas are not all that great.

Food Police In New York May Ban Salt

In another nanny-state move that defies logic, a New York state assemblyman is proposing legislation to ban salt in restaurant prepared food for the whole state.
This buffoonery is being proposed by Assemblyman Felix Ortiz (Guess the party*-Brooklyn) would ban salt from being used in the food preparation and cooking. Mr. Ortiz does share his logic:

"In this way, consumers have more control over the amount of sodium they intake, and are given the option to exercise healthier diets and healthier lifestyles."

OK, I get that.
But, hey Mr. Ortiz, have you ever heard of asking for no salt to be added to your meal? What, you can't wait an extra few minutes as your meal is specially prepared? Hey, even better. Why do you don't patronize restaurants that do not used salt in meal prep? Or start one of your own. How about that, Mr. Ortiz.
Well, Jeff Nathan, the executive chef and co-owner of Abigael's in New York City on Broadway had this to say:

"The consumer needs to make their own health choices. Just as doctors and the occasional visit to a hospital can't truly control how a person chooses to maintain their health, neither can chefs nor the occasional visit to a restaurant,"

Exactly! It is called taking one's own responsibility for caring for one's own health.
I almost never add any salt to any meal. Only occasionally when I have Macaroni and Cheese. But otherwise I never add salt to a meal. Was not always that way. I used to pour the salt on almost everything. But, one day, I realized that it maybe too much and just stopped adding salt. What I realized is that so much food already has a certain amount of salt. And yes, it adds flavor.
The point is that I made the decision. I did not need a nanny-state butinzky putz to tell a restaurant owner and or chef, NO! NO! NO! Can't add a little flavor to food! No, you are putting people at risk.
Mr. Ortiz, when one truly lives life, it is a total risk!
The old saying rings true here. Everything in moderation.
Many restaurants already have some menu items that are low-sodium or no salt. I do not get the big wow about asking if no salt be added to food.
But once again, it shows how legislators want to deal with real problems. New York state is one of many states on the precipice of bankruptcy. There are serious decisions that will have to be made. And this guy, Ortiz, thinks top of the list is being chief of the food police and trying to ban salt in restaurant food.
This guy needs to be voted out of office. Yesterday.
I have faith and trust in people to make their own choices. Especially when it comes to food and how they choose to season it.
People like Mr. Ortiz have no faith in the people. He believes that he and the government know best.
Sorry, this bill has to die!

*-Democrat, of course!

A Newbie To Rule 5 Blogging

Sitting in the Right View From The Left Coast headquarters on a Saturday night. Mind numbed by the endless droning on the so-called health care "reform" For some reason, tonight I am bored by all of this. Maybe it is discovering an old friend on Facebook and his blog have me in this frame of mind.

Well, I am finally succumbing and entering my first post under The Other McCain's "How To Get A Million Hits On Your Blog" under Rule number five.

With a little twist.

I have always had a thing for athletic gals. I had a huge crush on ice skating goddess Kristi Yamaguchi back in the day. Hell, she was the reason I watched "Dancing With The Stars" when she won the competition.

Does anyone remember beach volleyball hottie Gabrielle Reece? I do and I still think that she is hot.

But since the 21st Winter Olympic games have ended, I have thought about the gal athletes. There were many and from other lands than the United States.

But for this post, I present to you exhibit A

Julia Mancuso, ski goddess.

Yes, I know that everyone goes ga-ga over Lindsay Vonn. And with good reason. She is also one hottie of a skier. But, that is another post.

Now, look at the photo above. Does that not get you in a great frame of mind? Oh yea, she is wearing ski boots too!

What I like about Miss Mancuso is that she is not just a ski goddess. She likes all outdoor sports.

You see what I mean?!

Then when Miss Mancuso is not on the ski slopes, she is on the beach catching a wave as Julia
Mancuso, surfer girl.

Makes me want to take up surfing!

But in all seriousness, gals like Julia Mancuso are not the norm. Most gals would not be the kind of athlete that she is. Most gals are, sad to say, like us men. They get used to being in a rut and, well you know the rest.

I do not know her politics, religion, any of that stuff. And, since I am loyal to Mrs. Right View From The Left Coast, this is simply some eye candy. Yes, dare I write, a fantasy. And that is OK.

As the saying goes, I am married, not buried.

One other thing. It makes me realize that I really, really should start taking care of myself. Not that I could have that kind of body (unless I get a sex-change operation!), but I realize I have packed on the weight. If this Rule 5 blogging is successful, maybe it is but one more incentive on that front.

Anyhow, I ask that you enjoy the hotness that is Julia Mancuso!

It Is Woman's History Month-Except For Real Women

Thanks to Gay Patriot, B. Daniel Blatt, I found out that it is Women's History Month.
It is a time to revel and reflect on the role of women in the American society. How under the way we became a nation, women gained more than in any other nation in the world.
But, as B. Daniel reminds us, if one lives in West Hollywood, California, one would not actually know about women that actually accomplished something real and tangible in their lives. And in the lives of many women.
It is nice, I suppose, to see women the likes of Billie Jean King, Zelda Gilroy, Susan Sarandon, Hillary Clinton and Betty Friedan featured in images around WeHo.
But, too bad some other women did not get an image on a street lamp in WeHo.
Here is where B. Daniel gets interesting:

You know, like, well, the first (and so far only) female Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, the current Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, the first female Ambassador the United Nations, the first African-American woman Secretary of State, the first woman Governor of Alaska or the woman who led a successful grassroots movement to prevent the passage of the Equal Rights Amendment.

So that you know, since if you are a yout and will not learn this in school, I will name the aforementioned above.
First female Prime Minister of the United Kingdom: Margaret Thatcher (Conservative party)
Current Chancellor of Germany: Angela Merkel (Christian Democrat and conservative)
First female American ambassador to the United Nations: Jeanne Kirkpatrick (Democrat but became a Republican)
First Black female Secretary of State: Condolezza Rice (Republican and conservative)
First woman governor of Alaska: Sarah Palin (Republican and conservative)
The woman who defeated the so-called Equal Rights Amendment, a hero to your humble blogger: Phylis Schaffley.
These women actually did something rather than blather on about how they were somehow victims. They got out and ran for office. Or actually realized that women and other groups did not need special treatment dressed up as "equal rights". Many of these women went on to get a higher education and serve admirably in some of the highest posts in this Great Land.
It would be nice to celebrate the accomplishment of a wide variety of women, not just the politically correct ones. Too bad the city leaders in WeHo did not get the memo.
Oh, my bad!
They did get the memo! But, they do not believe the aforementioned women accomplished anything.
Thanks to B. Daniel Blatt, a proud gay American and patriot, for reminding us of the accomplishment of some other women.

Nancy Pelosi Is A Jackass

There, I wrote what even the most partisan Democrat must be thinking!
There are soooooo many reasons for Mrs. Pelosi's jackassery, but this thought of why we must, must I tell you, pass the abomination of so-called health care "reform" is quite possibly the capper.
Here is the money quote from Mrs. Pelosi:

"Think of an economy where people could be an artist or a photographer or a writer without worrying about keeping their day job in order to have health insurance."

Yes, I would like to think of getting those that choose to be lazy actually doing something productive.
Now, I do not hate artists and or photographers. And, clearly, not writers. But come on, Jackass Nancy! You can not be serious?!
My bad!
Of course you are.
Here at this link, Mary Katherine Ham deconstructs the idiocy of the gal that is two heartbeats away from becoming president. God forbid! Makes me think that Vice-President Biden is not so bad after all.
See, Jackass Nancy, there have to be p r o d u c t i v e people, ie, w o r k e r s, to fund this so-called health care "reform". Without the p r o d u c t i v e, w o r k i n g people, the tax-payers, there will be no unicorns for the artist, photographer or writer.
Someone has to pay for all of this, Jackass Nancy!
The other thing is that there is a point in life in which one should realize that there is a passion and then there is making money, providing for one's wife or husband, and a family. Today, people can really do both. It is not like in any other period of time in human history.
I love doing this blog. I have total freedom to write about what I want to any time and almost any place. But, can I make money doing this? Maybe, maybe not.
But I have a responsibility to the greater society to be productive. I get up at 5:50am Monday through Friday and have a "day job". So does Mrs. Right View From The Left Coast. We do our jobs, pay our own way in this Great Land of opportunity.
And because we have so many modern conveniences like a computer and the like, I can do what is a passion. And, I do not want anyone else subsidising my passion at the expense of my wife and myself being productive members of society.
But to hear Jackass Nancy tell it, somehow I will have to subsidize someone who can produce a gem piece of art such as Piss Christ. Because after all, he would not have the trouble of having a "day job" just to pay for health care. I mean, it is not enough that the "artist", Andres Serrano, received $15,000 from you and I-the American taxpayer. We should make sure he gets to some good ol' government health care!
Hey, maybe we can make sure all those photographers that take pictures of porno stars and starlets are signed up for Jackass Nancy health care. Well, at least they make money doing what they do.
Hey, maybe I should quit my "day job" and while I am at it, maybe the government should pay for my housing as well. You know, that gets in the way of my writing. Having to pay someone for a place to live.
And these people, the Dear Leader, President Obama, Jackass Nancy and Dingy Harry Reid wonder why the majority of the American people are not keen on this power grab by the federal government. The majority of people are working, taxpayers. People that already have health insurance. Usually through the employer. And they are not selfish that they do not want to find a way to help truly down-and-out people. That is the American way. But it is not the American way to subsidize sloth. And that, whether Jackass Nancy realizes it or not, is what she actually suggested.
My fellow Americans, we have a week to slay this multi headed dragon. Jackass Nancy and company are desperate to find ways to ram this so-called health care "reform" down our throats.
It is why we all need to get busy and reach out to our congressmen and senators. Even if their minds are made up to vote for this abomination. The more that they hear from us, the hard-working regular American people, the more possible it is to change minds.
Some minds are already numb. One of those would be that of Jackass Nancy Pelosi. Let's see to it that we help her off the government dole come November!

Eric Massa Exposing The Dear Leader's Thuggery

One thing that we have to admit about Eric Massa. His time in congress has been an amusing one.
Last week, Mr. Massa (D-NY) announced that he was retiring at the end of his one term in congress. He said that it was for health reasons.
Then revelations came out that Mr. Massa was being investigated on charges on sexual harassment of a male staffer.
Now, Mr. Massa is saying the real reason he is leaving congress is because Team Dear Leader was pushing him out.
Why you may wonder?
Why because Mr. Massa voted against the Dear Leader, President Obama's so-called health care "reform" scam.
Here is some wit and wisdom of Mr. Massa:

"Mine is now the deciding vote on the health care bill, "And this administration and this House leadership have said, quote-unquote, they will stop at nothing to pass this health care bill. And now they've gotten rid of me, and it will pass. You connect the dots."

OK, time to get Mel Gibson and Julia Roberts and the movie "Conspiracy Theory" out of mothballs.
But, wait! Mr. Massa went on his radio program last night to, essentially, out himself and the claims of the male staffer.
If that is not enough, and it really should be, Mr. Massa paints a very ugly picture of he and White House Chief of Staff, Rahm Emmanuel in a shower as Mr. Emmanuel is harassing Mr. Massa over his health care "reform" vote. BLEECH!
Now, Mr. Massa is heading to Glenn Beck's television program tomorrow afternoon for the full hour. This may make the whole of the United States cry.
The worst part of this story is that it may all very well be true. That Mr. Massa may have been set up by the White House. But that Mr. Massa was stupid enough to know that in this day and age, one should not make any comment that you think may get you in trouble.
I kind of wonder if Mr. Massa is not making himself more of a messiah figure than he is. After all, there are the Bart Stupak Democrats that may kill this Godforsaken legislation. There are still a lot of moderate Democrats that may not be so keen as to be part of Nancy Pelosi's Suicide Squad.
But one thing is for sure.
It is good to see that the Repub, er Democrats are keeping their kooks in line. Unlike the Demo, er Republicans.
Even if Mr. Massa's claims of White House chicanery pan out, Mr. Massa looks like a nut job. Mr. Massa looks like former Democrat congressman Jim Traficant. Only without the cool rug on his head.
This shows that the White House really is the amateur hour.
And you trust these guys with your health care?

It Is A Sad Time When A Heathen Atheist Defends The Church Of England

It really is sad that a vowed atheist takes to defending the face of Christianity in England, the Church of England.
The linked column by a vowed atheist, Nigel Farndale, takes up the cause of the last real Archbishop of Canterbury, Lord Carey, and pushing back on those in England that now worship at the Church of Political Correctness. Or the Chuch of Anything Goes But Christianity.
Mr. Farndale gives examples of what rankles Lord Carey. But what I like is Mr. Farndale quoting Lord Carey directly. Lord Carey says that it is time for Christians, particularly the Church of England, to stop being like doormats.
What is interesting is the take of a non-believer as to the value of having an "established" church over no church at all. Mr. Farndale makes a stunning confession about life in a secular land:

Despite my atheism, I would rather we remained a Christian country with a politicised church than became a secular country with no established church at all. That, it seems to me, would be a colder and gloomier place to live.

Exactly!
When an atheist realizes that a faith tradition is not a bad thing, that it adds to rather than hurts a society as a whole, it is a revelation.
Mr. Farndale may be a heathen, a heritic, but he is one that has come to the realization that the Church of England is good thing. A very British thing. And one that is good for the society as a whole.
Now, if the Church of England can get a real archbishop, now that is a different post.

Get In The Bunker! The Academy Awards Are Almost On!

In less than 15 minutes, the most self-indulgent night in American entertainment begins with the "red carpet" leading to the 82nd Academy Awards.
It is the time for the Hollywood libertard set to pat each other on the back. Give awards to movies that may not deserve it. Get a bit o' praise for the Dear Leader, President Obama. To try a dig maybe at former President George W. Bush. Or maybe former Alaska Governor, Sarah Palin. In other words, an absolute waste of one's time.
The good thing is that it appears fewer and fewer people are wasting their time watching all the self-indulgence. All the self-love.
As for me, I am preparing to enter my bunker. Will not emerge until Mrs. Right View From The Left Coast returns from her Academy Award watch party.
Yes, I know. My wife will watch while I rail. That is real diversity, folks!
I exercise my choice not to be taken in by the hoopla. I really see no point in it. But, some people do. And, Mrs. Right View From The Left Coast is one who does. Mrs. Right View From The Left Coast does see a lot more movies than your humble blogger. I am rather selective about what I will spend my money on. And yes, sometimes I will see a movie with someone that I can not stand. But think that they are good actors or actresses. But it better be one damn good movie for that to happen!
No, there are really more important things than the Academy Awards. And I will not watch. And many more people are beginning to realize that they do not have to watch either.

State Sen. Roy Ashburn Another Reason For A Part-Time Legislature

I am certain that you have heard the news of California state Sen. Roy Ashburn (R-Bakersfield) and his arrest on suspicion of DUI, or DWI, this past week.
Yes, the story is that Sen. Ashburn was with another man and leaving a gay-oriented bar in the Sacramento area.
FTR, my beef with Sen. Ashburn is not his possible closeted homosexuality. That is between him, his family and God.
But, my issue is that Sen. Ashburn is the classic "moderate" Republican that runs as some kind of conservative, but when push comes to shove, never actually does anything to stem the tide of rising government.
And rising government, my friends, is a real thing.
Unlike Globaloney Warming.
Sen. Ashburn was drinking and driving. In a state car. A Chevy Tahoe to be exact. Good to see the senator buys American. I guess.
But, why does this state senator need a state car? Is the $116, 208 annual salary not enough for Sen. Ashburn to buy his own car? Oh, and yes, on top of that $116,208 annual salary, Sen Ashburn also gets a $173 per diem allowance. And, since California is a full-time legislature, well, you figure that out, good readers.
The real outrage is that Sen. Ashburn was one of the Republican sellouts that voted to assist Gov. Benedict Arnold to raise taxes last year. Sen. Ashburn even used Ronald Reagan to justify such a vote.
But here is the thing.
Maybe if the state government was not so huge and bloated, and that bloating being added by the likes of Sen. Ashburn, there would not be this horrendous budget mess in the first place.
Again, this brings to mind the need for the good people of this state to rein in the people making this mess in the first place.
A return to a part-time legislature is one thing that is needed yesterday.
Consider that if these clowns only had 45 days a year to wreak their havoc, so many pointless laws would not be passed. So many pet projects of, name the legislator, would not see the light of day. And that 45 day legislative meeting would primarily deal with budgetary matters. No more or less. And that would be a two-year budget. In the next year, the legislature can take up other legislation not dealt with in the budget-only session. And again, all that would be needed is 45 days.
Consider that if the legislature is part-time, the majority of the time these clowns would have to actually live under the laws that they pass. These clowns would be driven as crazy as we are by what such legislation hath wrought.
Back to Sen. Ashburn.
Sen. Ashburn has a history of voting for tax hikes.
As a member of the Kern County board of supervisors, then Sup. Ashburn voted for tax hikes 12 times.
And Sen. Ashburn is a Republican. He claims to be a conservative. And yet he seems to not have a problem voting for tax hikes that increase the size of government. And of bureaucracy, by default.
Had Sen. Ashburn voted against the tax hikes, he would be a hero.
Instead, he is a goat. And one that seems to have a lot more problems than whether or not he can be a legislator of any kind.
When we get a chance to vote on making the California state legislator a part-time one, keep Sen. Roy Ashburn in mind. Not for being arrested for DUI or DWI leaving a gay-oriented night club. But for raising your taxes. And abusing his power.

A Frightening Magazine Cover!

This deserves an OMG!
The worst part is that this is probably what Al Gore, the Globaloney Warming King, may really look like outside the tents of suits we see him in. On occasion.
The thrust of the cover story in the upcoming Weekly Standard is that Mr. Gore and his fellow Globaloney Warming cultists have used faulty, at best, science and misinformation to dupe a public. A public in believing that we, the human species, are responsible for the seas rising, the melting of the polar ice caps and all kinds of environmental sins.
What Mr. Gore and his followers have done is try to tweak the way that Globaloney Warming is framed. They now use the moniker "climate change" because most people have caught on to the fact that the planet is not warming in the way the alarmists have said.
It does seem to sell a little better. But people realize that "climate change" is really just a different way to sell the Globaloney Warming scam. And the resistance is building to another socialistic scheme for the government to control the economy. That would be the so-called "Cap and Trade" legislation that is making its way through congress now.
Read the linked article.
But avoid that cover on the website.
YUCK!

The Desperation Of The Dear Leader

This will clearly disappoint those that voted for the Dear Leader, President Obama, but it appears in a desperate move to win over votes for the so-called health care "reform" scam, he is naming relatives to federal judge ships.
The Dear Leader, President Obama, had a pow-wow this past evening with 10 Democrat congressmen that voted no in the original bill that passed the House last year.
One of those no votes is that of Congressman Jim Matheson (D-Utah).
Yes, there are some Democrats in Utah.
Congressman Matheson has a brother, Scott M. Matheson, Jr.
In a turn of coinkidink, Scott Matheson is being appointed to a federal judgeship by the Dear Leader, President Obama.
How about that?
The Dear Leader, President Obama, asks Congressman Matheson to dinner at the White House. And just before that dinner, to talk over the so-called health care "reform" scam, brother Scott is being named as a judge on the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Amazing.
This from the man who spent a two-year presidential Death March of a campaign railing about the way things were done in Washington. Railing about the way so much was done behind closed doors. How favors were doled out. This man, Messiah Barack Obama, promised to be a different kind of leader.
Turns out he is just a product of the most corrupt Democrat machine this side of Massachusetts.
The Chicago Machine.
To me, it is no surprise. The Dear Leader, President Obama, is so desperate for anything that looks like a victory on this abomination of legislation that he will openly intimidate members of his own party to get in line and change their minds. And vote yes on so-called health care "reform".
And that is what he is doing in regards to Congressman Matheson.
This is one more indication of why congress needs to change hands in November. A new group of Republicans, those outside the beltway, need to run for congress and the senate. Win their primaries and storm the steps of the capitol the first Monday in January as the majority party in both Houses of congress.
Until then, and this is especially for those who voted for the Dear Leader, President Obama, we will see more desperate displays of payoff like this involving the Mathesons of Utah.

Gov. Perry Wins Big In Texas

In one of the most bitter Republican gubernatorial primaries in memory, Texas incumbent Gov. Rick Perry easily defeated Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison and Debra Medina in his bid for a third complete term as governor.
The battle was really between Gov. Perry and Sen. Hutchison.
Gov Perry has ridden the anti-establishment express and scored over Washington insider Sen. Hutchison. Mrs. Medina was a Tea party activist, and could have forced this race into a runoff. But, Mrs. Medina did not do herself any favors when seemingly tacitly wondering if there were nefarious forces behind the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
Gov. Perry has had his ups and downs. Just when one thinks that he is out, he gets up and fights like the dickens and has won most of the time. Whereas Gov. Perry is more of the street fighter, Sen. Hutchison is the type of classy, above-the-fray politician. And it showed.
One of the things that hampered Sen. Hutchison was that she promised to resign as senator and devote all her energy to fighting with Gov. Perry for the Republican governor's nomination. But, Sen. Hutchison never did. And Gov. Perry bludgeoned Sen. Hutchison for that probable fatal mistake. It was a classic outsider, Gov. Perry. vs. entrenched insider, Sen. Hutchison.
And, Gov. Perry took advantage of anti-Washington, anti-Dear Leader, President Obama, sentiment in the Lone Star State.
Gov. Perry also ran a very unconventional campaign.
There was no yard signs. No annoying phone calls. Little of the traditional nuts-and-bolts of the modern campaign.
Except that the Perry campaign was all over the social network sites such as Facebook, Twitter and even Craig's List. And the Perry campaign played this for all it was worth. And that was victory.
For the Democrats, former Houston mayor Bill White will be the sacrificial lamb to Gov. Perry.
This race is done.
Now, on to November!
