With this announcement, the Fox Broadcast network hit drama 24 will end it eight-season run in May.
And while it may have gone on a season or so too long, the way that this drama set apart from others is what made it compelling.
As one that has watched many a television drama, there has never been one that can pack so much in an hour as 24 does.
I have been faithfully watching the series for the third one in a row. And this kind of sort delves into the Iran-United States conflict. And there is something for everyone.
Kiefer Sutherland is tremendous as Jack Bauer. Always doing the wrong thing for all the right reasons. Typical American hero.
And Mrs. Right View From The Left Coast and I love Mary Rajksub's Chloe character. And her perpetual scowl.
But, alas, all will be done after this season.
24 has had a great run and will continue to live on in DVDs and DVRs.

I actually watched the first 3 or 4 seasons pretty religiously. I didn't so much lose interest as the fact that I got read of my DVR and it's impossible to get me to commit to sitting in front of a TV the same time each week.
Oh well, like you said, I'll hold out for the DVD sets.
