Romney Tops In Cash

For those who buy into polls that show the inevitability of former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani as the Republican standard bearer for president in 2008, the first quarter fund-raising numbers should put a lot of cold water on that.
The numbers show that former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney leads the pack with $23,000,000 raised, and all for the primary season. Coming in second is Rudy Giuliani with $15,000,000. Sen. John McCain has not, as of this, released his numbers. But, Mr. Romney is numero uno-number one!
So, this is from a candidate with some polls showing him in single-digits? Well, yes.
I think this shows that the Republican party, like the probability the Democrats will, have a first time candidate for president. The GOP will have possibly a Mormon at top of the ticket and the Dems may have a woman or black in the top spot.
It will be interesting indeed.
