Today at 2am at Georgetown Hospital in Washington, D. C., former White House Press Secretary Tony Snow lost his fight with colon cancer http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,381250,00.html.
Mr. Snow was 53 years old.
As with the death of NBC veteran Tim Russert in June, many of the same attributes can be said about Mr. Snow. A regular guy. One who really liked other people. He would take more time than necessary to speak with people. The list can go on.
Mr. Snow started on the Fox News Channel hosting Fox News Sunday, joining the Sunday insider gab-fests, Face The Nation, Meet The Press and This Week. He all but helped start the number one cable news network in 1996 and left in 2003. Mr. Snow hosted a radio show for a time and then became the press secretary in the current Bush administration. Mr. Snow replaced the now Judas, Scott McCllean. Mr. Snow stayed on for 17 months, left government to go back in the private sector and ended up signing with CNN to do political commentary earlier this year http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/07/12/obit.snow/index.html.
What I admired about Mr. Snow is that he was willing to take a lot of flack from most of conservative talk radio during the ill-fated "comprehensive immigration reform" bill-scam. Yet, Mr. Snow went on almost any show that would have him as he defended the Bush administration position on the bill-scam. Many times, the talks were heated with many hosts and Mr. Snow, but they never ended with anger from the host or Mr. Snow.
And, I link this because it shows what a couple of other bloggers thought of Mr. Snow http://rightwingsparkle.blogspot.com/2008/07/tony-snow-rip.html

May you rest in peace, Tony.
