Fred Phelps And The Hard Left Are Made For Each Other

It is sad times indeed in which a so-called reverend will take a band of minions and protest at the funeral for former White House press secretary, Tony Snow http://msunderestimated.com/2008/07/13/westboro-baptist-church-to-picket-tony-snows-funeral/. But, it is just as sad that many people are so disturbed that they write the most vicious, hate filled comments and it is allowed, with no filtering, on the Left Angeles Times website http://patterico.com/2008/07/12/la-times-commenters-joyously-revel-in-tony-snows-death/.
Fred Phelps, the "pastor" of the Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, Kansas, is the cretin who protests at the funeral of soldiers who have died in the War Against Islamofacist Terror. Why? Because are defending a nation that these inbreds do not think is worth defending. Because it is a nation that is allowing homosexuality to run rampant. Now, it is Tony Snow's turn. Because he worked for President Bush, you know, the defender of all things gay and lesbian! That is because these so-called Christians have berated grieving families by protesting at their family member's funeral. So, congress passed a bill and President Bush signd that made protesters have to be away from the view of families at military funerals. And, "pastor" Phelps thinks this is persecution. "Pastor" Phelps has no idea about persecution. He should be waking up every morning and thanking Almighty God that he is in the United States and not in some place like Iraq or Afghanistan.
But, "pastor" Phelps is in wonderful company with some equally demented people on the left who are happy that Mr. Snow has died.
Many a writer to the Left Angeles Times website got to have their digs in on Mr. Snow. Here is a short sample:

I hope he suffered at the end. Just a terrible person.

I hope the rest of these criminals die too. Good riddance to a person who contributed to making this world a worse place.

There is special place in hell for Mr. Snow. As a co-conspirator of the Bush administration, I have no special sympathy for him. I only wish his suffering were more prolonged.

Welcome, Mr. Snow. I believe your roommate, Mr. Helms, has already arrived.

All you right wingers would be saying much worse things if the same had happened to Ted Kennedy or Obama - you are nothing but trash and liars just like Snow job was. good riddance to bad rubbish

Now, these are some of the tame ones. I really think that "Hell's Receptionist" got in a twofer-you know, slam both Mr. Snow and the late former Sen. Jesse Helms, in a short sentence.
And Alan, I think that you are very delusional. You really think that serious conservatives would relish in what is happening to Sen. Kennedy? Or if something like this happened to Sen. Messiah Barack? Maybe fringe people like your self would be happy. But, serious people are not happy when anyone meets their maker.
What is so pathetic is that one man, "pastor" Phelps, claims to be just doing the Lord's work. Exposing the charlatans. The people who have such hate for Mr. Snow are not in any way doing the Lord's work. They are both showing an intense hatred that is bordering mental instability.
As noted in the link to the Whackboro Baptist Church, there is a group called the Patriot Guard Riders http://patriotguard.org that makes sure people like "pastor" Phelps and the anti-war crowd show respect to those who have served this Great Land and made the ultimate sacrifice. They are needed at Tony Snow's funeral and anyone else that these two types of degenerates want to raise a ruckus.
Fred and the anti-war fringe. What a lovely pair.

I'm reminded of when Reagan died. I was listening to a late-night radio show that night, ostensibly about music, and one of the guests said about Reagan, "I hope he died with his diaper full."

Some people are just disgusting examples of humanity at its worst.

Hmm. When Tim Russert died, who was a liberal journalist, no conservative said ill words about him. Conservatives are by nature, polite.
