While this blog relishes in the multiple people, even whole churches, that Sen. Messiah Barack has thrown under his bus, it is with regret that Sen. John "F--- You" McCain threw Dr. Phil Gramm under his "Straight Poop Express" for speaking the truth.
In an interview with The Washington Times published yesterday, Dr. Gramm said the following:
"You've heard of mental depression; this is a mental recession," he said, noting that growth has held up at about 1 percent despite all the publicity over losing jobs to India, China, illegal immigration, housing and credit problems and record oil prices. "We may have a recession; we haven't had one yet."
"We have sort of become a nation of whiners," he said. "You just hear this constant whining, complaining about a loss of competitiveness, America in decline" despite a major export boom that is the primary reason that growth continues in the economy, he said.
"We've never been more dominant; we've never had more natural advantages than we have today," he said. "We have benefited greatly" from the globalization of the economy in the last 30 years.
Oh, but the Dinosaur, Drive-By Mainstream Media had a field day with this. What they did is, selectively, take the part where Dr. Gramm, a former economics professor, congressman and senator, said that we, the United States, have become a nation of whiners and ran with it as if Dr. Gramm indicted the whole of the United States.
What Dr. Gramm was talking about was the doom and gloom, perpetuated on the left, about the decline of the United States as a economic power. Dr. Gramm was not talking about the American people just being whiners.
But, lets say that he meant just that. Is Dr. Gramm wrong? Not on your life.
The fact is that the DDBMSM easily finds many a person, rightfully, griping about the cost of gas. But, many of these same people were probably in line from midnight til Apple stores opened up to be the first to drop a couple of hundred dollars for an updated Iphone. Many of these people are enamored to the latest and newest craze, which costs money. Do the same people think about where money comes from? No, most do not because they got sucked into multiple credit cards. And if they were not sucked into the credit cards, they are homeowners that let some lenders sign them up for loans that they knew would never be paid. Most of these people did not take the time to read the fine print. But, it is not their fault. It is the credit card company for enticing me with their faux low-interest for nine months and then, POW! right in the kisser, a new very high interest rate. And, I had to sign that loan I could never pay back. The lender made me do it.
Although, Dr. Gramm did not say it at all, the DDBMSM has made the whiner comment a story all into itself. Thus, casual news watchers like Mrs. rightviewfromtheleftcoast think such a comment is horrible.
But, it is truth.
And, if Sen. "F--- You" McCain took the time to read the comment in full and in context, he would have to agree with Dr. Gramm.
But, Sen. "F--- You" McCain does not want his media "friends" who travel the Straight Poop Express to paint him as insensitive.
Insensitive about what? The truth?
Yes, there are some in the political, union and some in business are whiners. These are the ones who would think that the federal government may have to bail out General Motors, who just can not seem to sell a car to save their lives. Why? No one put a gun to their heads to cave in every time the United Auto Workers union struck. Now, these are some of the highest paid workers in the United States. And, they keep putting out a product a lot of Americans do not want to buy. These are the whiners that Dr. Gramm was talking about.
Sen. Messiah Barack made a funny reference that the United States already has one Dr. Phil. As in "Dr" Phil McGraw, the "psychologist" forced upon the American people by Oprah. And, Sen. Messiah Barack said we do not need another one, as in Dr. Phil Gramm.
But, we do, and Sen. "F--- You" McCain should not have thrown him under the Straight Poop Express. Sen. "F--- You" McCain should not distance himself but bring Dr. Gramm back and let him explain, so that even a mediocre DDBMSMer can understand.
The whiners are not the American people. It is those that want to see America's best days behind her and speak gloom and doom. The American people are the backbone of the economy. And, Dr. Gramm was not talking down to them at all. Too bad that is not what the DDBMSM wants you to know.

I think most of the nation is stuck in "It's a crisis!" mode. The economy slows, it's a crisis. Global temps are up a fraction of a degree, it's a crisis. Gas prices rise, crisis. There doesn't seem to be any perspective left.
People don't have enough perspective? It's a crisis!
It seems I'm constantly asking frazzled friends and co-workers WHY they're so upset over one thing or another. I try to give them some perspective (on the subjects I am informed enough to do so). Some come around, some don't. Some wind up more confused than ever, some refuse to accept that they MIGHT be overdoing things.
Have we become a nation of whiners? It's a crisis!
