Whew! What a title! But, as you will read, the presumptive Democrat nominee for president, Sen. Messiah Barack has offered a solution to help the American people combat high gas prices.
There's things that you can do individually though to save energy. Making sure your tires are properly inflated. Simple thing. But we could save all the oil they are talking about getting off drilling if everybody was just inflating their tires. And getting regular tune-ups. You could actually save just as much.
That is right. The Mr. Goodwrench solution so that a) we make sure our tires are properly inflated. b) and do not forget the 3,000 mile oil change along with that tire inflation.
It is absolutely disturbing that this man, Sen. Messiah Barack, says such ridiculous things and no one calls him on it.
What Sen. Messiah Barack is saying is that one of the reasons there is a spike in oil prices is, once again, we are stupid. If we just took better care of our cars, we would not be spending so much for gas. Ridiculous.
It is not a tire inflation problem, Sen. Messiah Barack.
It is a problem that we have heard for almost as long as I have been alive, 44 years on God's green earth. The problem is that the United States is not energy independent. We import more of our oil, made into gasoline for our cars, trucks, airplanes than we produce. We have not built a new oil refinery in more than two decades. That's decades! We have not built a new nuclear power plant in more than three decades. Again, that's decades!
So, because we import a great deal of our oil from rather unstable parts of the world, whenever there is tension, there will be a spike in the price of a barrel of crude oil.
It is not just speculators. It is looking into the future and seeing trends. If there is any serious possibility that Israel will militarily stop the maniacal Shia Islamofacist regime in Iran from developing nuclear weapons, that will create huge problems. And that will directly affect the United States in almost any way imaginable. Economically, politically and possibly socially.
The solution that the Republicans have offered is very comprehensive.
Allow for offshore oil drilling. Open up exploration in ANWR. Continue to look for viable alternatives, such as biofuels. Allow for 45 new nuclear power plants. Developing wind power, solar power. It is something for everyone, sort of a smorgasbord of aspects with one goal in mind. Making the United States energy independent once and for all.
But, no, the Democrats do not want that nasty oil drilling off shore. Nor in ANWR. No new nuclear power plants. But, they do want to develop wind and solar power. As long as it does not affect the view of many a liberal elite.
And, today, Sen. Messiah Barack said we just need to get more air in our tires and get those tuneups.
Question for The Anointed One. Will you be donning your Mr. Goodwrench uniform and making sure that our tires are properly inflated? Are you going to do that oil change? Na, I didn't think so!
