Obama Vs. Rush

It is truly amazing that the new President of the United States, Barack Obama, seems to have time to harass Republican congressional leaders for "listening" to radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh.
Really? The Republican party listens to Rush Limbaugh?
If the leadership and Republican voters had listened to Rush Limbaugh, maybe Sen. John "F--- You" McCain would not have been the Republican standard bearer in 2008.
If the Republican leadership did listen to Rush Limbaugh, maybe they can talk about conservative, small government principles with the same conviction and seriousness that Rush does.
I think blogger Jammie Wearing Fool hits it right on the head.
How can President Obama take the time to imply that Republican congressional leaders take their marching orders from a radio talk show host?
Because, President Obama is not stupid.
He knows that Rush Limbaugh is now the go to outside of the Washington beltway establishment. Along with a lot of other conservative radio talk show hosts. These are the building blocks of opposition to the president's policies.
And, there is always room for that. Opposition that is.
President Obama knows that it was a strong effort led by many in conservative talk radio that ended the so-called "comprehensive immigration reform" bill-scam. Also, though divided, many of the same hosts led the opposition to former president George W. Bush and his appointment of Harriet Miers to the supreme court. And to the ill-fated Dubai ports deal.
You see, conservative talk radio can be a potent force of democracy. And that has to scare President Obama.
Much of the noted areas that conservative talk radio led opposition to was against former president George W. Bush. Imagine what they will do to President Obama.
And, that is why he made the comment that he did to congressional leaders. Oh, and at the same meeting, he also told the same Republicans that he won the election. DUH! No kidding.
What the charade is being put on by President Obama is simple.
If the economic plans fail, he will be able to inoculate himself by saying that many Republicans were on board as well.
Thus, in two huffs and puffs, President Obama tells these Republicans not to listen to Rush Limbaugh and that he won the election. So, President Obama is saying listen to me. Work with me.
I agree with Rush on this.
If working with President Obama is to institute socialism in the United States, no thanks. Keep the change.
Oh, BTW, Rush will win this one. And that maybe the worst defeat of this young presidency.

Yeah, I kind of figured you were a Rush Limbaugh listener.

Thanks for making it official.

I agree with your article about opposition to the other side...that is incredibly healthy.....its just that when it comes from Rush it is diminished due to his ....well i cant think of the right word....due to HIM. The right really needs to find another outlet to gain my attention.

WTF, at least El Rushbo is constitutionally qualified to be President!

I think you make good points. I am not as Conservative as Rush and don't often listen to him but I do like his opinion on this topic. I think Obama will be shown to have some of the thinnest skin a President has displayed in recent memory. On the campaign trial Obama mentioned Sean Hannity five times. This guy cannot take criticism and it will be very obvious once the honeymoon is over. The press gave him a pass the entire campaign but I imagine once they see how quick the Obama will be to oppress bad press and any opposing views they will be forced to let him have it. I just hope that Fox and Rush keep this guy accountable.

64 we have been saying for awhile republicans have become as big as a problem for conservatism as liberals are... this will continue!

I agree, the Republicans cannot possibly have been listening to Rush, much less taking his advice.

Now if only we could get the Democrats to take Obama's advice and stop listening to +liberal+ media.
