Take a good look at this photo of our president, Barack Obama, in the Oval Office.
What do you notice? Or to be a little more direct, what do you not notice?
No suit jacket?
BINGO! DING! DING! DING!
In and of itself, it is not all that big of a deal. Former President Bush 43 made the rule that the coat and tie was to be worn at all times in the Oval Office. Clearly, President Obama prefers to be a little more workman-like sans the coat. But, you may be surprised to know the real reason that there is no coat on our president.
Well, because President Obama likes it a little warm. In fact, he likes it down right hot. So hot, that according to top advisor, David Axelrod, “He’s from Hawaii, O.K.? He likes it warm. You could grow orchids in there.”
Does that mean that the White House thermostat is above 72 degrees, Fahrenheit? If so, it would appear that our president is, well, kind of sort of going back on something that he said about the rest of us on the campaign trail. In a campaign rally in Portland, Oregon, then Senator Messiah Barack delivered this little gem:
“We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times … and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK,” Obama said.
“That’s not leadership. That’s not going to happen,” he added.
Hmm, very interesting.
Oh, and speaking on the food front, did you know that then Sen. Messiah Barack had a private chef? Well, you do now! Sam Kass will be assisting the current White House head chef, Cristeta Comerford, appointed to her perch by former First Lady, Laura Bush.
So, lets review.
President Obama likes the Oval Office a lot hotter than 72 degrees. Because he is from Hawaii after all. And, he has a private chef that will be assisting the current White House chef to make "healthy, local and sustainable" food to the Obama's taste.
What about the SUVs?
Are we soon to see hybrid Toyota Prius' in the White House motorcades? I doubt it.
So, I guess leadership by example is not exactly on President Obama's front burner.
Oops! That front burner is the Oval Office, I guess!
Hope and change, baby! Hope and change!

He's setting the environmental standard for the rest of us.
his carbon footprint aside, 72 is pretty darn hot. it must be a sauna in there!!
Do as I say, not as I do. Or as Leona Helmsley would have said: "freezing is for the little people".
How do you spell hypocrite?
O-B-A-M-A.
Cripes, I've had my thermostat at 66 degrees all damn coldest-on-record Winter long! I'm wearing heavy clothing, got a blanket by the TV, freezing my behind off. Screw that baby, I'm turnin' the Obama-stat to 80!
