New Majority Is Online

Conservative pundit and former George W. Bush speechwriter David Frum has begun his New Majority website as of yesterday.

Now, it will be probably more center-right than right, but it is going to be a place to go to see what other conservatives and Republicans are thinking about now as the Age o' Obama is in full swing.

While we will always have differences with fellow conservatives and Republicans, we at the very least talk with each other about what does unite us. And at the core is a skeptical view of government. Not a hatred for government. But how the size of government really does affect our everyday lives.

The New Majority is a site that will have a more intellectual bent. And we need that as well as the practical, nuts-and-bolts, day to day political comeback that conservatism and the Republican party will make. That is why Rebuild The Party and Andrew Breitbart's Big Hollywood are go-to sites.

There is no need for despair, fellow conservatives and Republicans.

Yes, the lefty trolls like Right Wing Snarkle can come here and gloat about their victory. They can site demographics that they claim so favor them. BTW, the same was done in 1993 after former President Clinton's victory. They can make there insipid remarks in the comments section of these blogs.

But, we who are engaged in the debate have the obligation to help educate people on what the conservative message is all about. And we need all the tools at our disposal.

So, go to New Majority, get engaged and learn. And, do not forget to share that knowledge with others.

Uhm, didn't that already happen? Like starting in the 1994 House elections?

And what exactly have "conservatives" been doing with their time from, oh...say, 2000 through a few months ago?

Keep it up, my deluded friend. Conservatism cannot fail, it can only be failed.

Yeah, right.

Whether at the center or right-leaning, at least we're all on common ground. There's some comfort in that. It's a good site.

warining will robinson: building a conservatism that can win again?.. 64 conservatism doesn't need to be re-built, it needs to be LIVED!!!... i fear nothing will be "re-built" with such "minds" leading the movement!

Mr. Pat, you are correct that conservatism is lived. That is why these kind of sites are interesting. They are idea shops. But, I will caution that while ideas are great-and nessesary-the bottom line is that people have to run in, win elections and govern. And, I think that is where there is a disconnect at times.

Well, the governing part's hard to do when your basic political philosophy, as explained by Saint Ronnie, is that government is the problem.

As for winning elections, the last few cycles have shown all but the most deluded that "conservatives" have been soundly rejected by the majority, pretty much across the board, except for those places where the voters are the most overweight and the least educated.

You know, the South.

As for running, yes, please. Run all you want. Run, run, run.
