Speculate On Obama's VP Pick

After a disastrous weekend at Saddleback Church in Irvine, California, it appears that the presumptive Democrat presidential nominee, Sen. Messiah Barack, is poised to end the running mate speculation as early as Wednesday.
My two cents.
If Sen. Messiah Barack wants to double-down on the experience, or lack thereof, issue, Virginia governor, Tim Kaine, seems to be a good choice.
But, Sen. Messiah Barack may want some more experience and a fellow senator who knows his way around Washington. My guess is that would lead to Indiana Democrat senator Evan Bayh. He brings a famous Democrat name, a heartland state and someone who gives the secular messiah a bit of real world experience.
Here is a wild card. Former NATO commander and loudmouth Gen. Wesley Clark. A devoted Clintonista, he would bridge that gap between the St. Hillary supporters and the secular messiah. And, although questionable, he would add a great deal of foreign policy credibility.
Who will it be?
I think that he is going to double-down and chose Gov. Kaine of Virginia.
For whatever reason, Sen. Messiah Barack will buy into the possibility of snagging Virginia for the Democrats. And, he wants to emphasize change.
It will be a disaster for Sen. Messiah Barack and once again bring into question his judgement.
All speculation and we shall soon see.

Well, I think you're right about one thing, anyway - your post is entirely a matter of your speculation.

I disagree with your quickness in labeling Obama's appearance at that church as a disaster.

If you think it was so, how so, and why?

Obama's never going to get the wingnut fundie vote, and that was never in the plans anyway.

He's not going to get the tired, wrinkly, old white man vote, either.

Or the votes of anybody else who votes mostly, or entirely, out of fear (fear of blacks, Muslims, gays, women, immigrants, or other boogymen who hide under their beds and haunt their dreams).

But to the extent that folks with two or more functioning brain cells were watching that night (and I sure wasn't - I thought the entire basis for the program was offensive), they saw a thoughtful and articulate person enter the lion's den, answer a bunch of rigged questions respectfully, and then leave intact.

They saw that Obama wasn't at all afraid to show up, no mater how badly the deck was stacked against him.

But I personally hope he doesn't do any more of this crap. There's no need to lend these circuses and their ringmasters any credibility.

As for VP choices - Crash McCain's painted himself into a corner, and will have to pick some fundie nutjob like Huckabee, or maybe he'll suck it up and pick my former one-term governor/carpet bagger.

Personally, I'm really hoping it's that lunatic Bobby Jindahl, but that's asking for too much.

Obama's choice? If I was betting money, I'd bet on Hillary to win, Gephardt to place, and Joe Biden to show.

But I'd need huge odds to maximize my upside, and I'd buy just a $2 ticket for each.

Fact is, I haven't a clue.

Whoever is in the White House come January 20, 2009 - the country loses. The VP couldn't be more inconsequential. What did John Nance Garner say... a warm bucket of spit?
