Great News! Tax Cheat Tom Is Gone

Ahh, the hypocrisy continues. But maybe some of the wind in the sails is going to be taken out but former senator Tax Cheat Tom Daschle has withdrawn his name to become the next Health and Human Services Secretary.
And why did Tax Cheat Tom take himself out of the running for this important cabinet position? Because, once again, Tax Cheat Tom "forgot" to pay $142,000 in taxes. Now, these are back taxes, which makes the situation even worse. Oh, and Tax Cheat Tom had this hanging over his head for six months.
Now, one can scratch their head and wonder why does Tax Cheat Tom have to withdraw his name and the current Treasury Secretary, Tax Cheat Timothy Geithner, did not?
One can make a case that one tax cheat is OK, but two or more and it looks like, well the same old, same old that President Obama promised to avoid by changing the way Washington does things.
Here is the problem.
The Obama administration is totally Washington-centered.
Starting with the Vice-President, Joe Biden. A now former senator.
No fewer than four people from the senate and or former senators have been appointed to cabinet positions. And, there are several former and current members of the House of Representatives that have been appointed and or are serving in the cabinet at this point.
For President Obama to change the tone and or the way Washington works, he needed to bring people that did not serve inside the Beltway. And, not cronies from the Chicago political machine.
And, he has not.
And maybe had President Obama done that, they would have been doing a better job in the vetting process, we would not have had the Bill Richardson withdrawal from Commerce Secretary. And, Mr. Richardson has been replaced not just by a Republican senator, Judd Gregg, but a senator that voted to abolish the department that he will now head. And, there is the former senator and now Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. One can not think that her husband, the former president, Bill Clinton, by taking loads of cash from foreign sources that Mrs. Clinton will have to deal with, will not cut deals and corners. And, of course there is Tax Cheat Timothy who got a pass because, well we are in such financial trouble that we need a tax cheat to figure it out. And, if Tax Cheat Tom is not enough, there is Nancy Killefer who was appointed to be another "czar" in charge of "performance". Do you want to guess why? Taxes. Taxes, damn taxes!
Folks, those of you that support President Obama must wonder how come he can not find people that do not cause him heartburn? What happened to all the hope and change?
Maybe it is going away with Tax Cheat Tom!

It's beyond strange that Obama's vetting process apparently asked dozens of invasive questions, but didn't bother to ask: Have you paid your taxes?
