A little over one hour ago an earthquake struck Southern California and the original magnitude of 5.9 was downgraded to a 5.4.
The shaker was centered about 13 miles north of Borrego Springs in Northern San Diego county.
It is a sparsely populated area.
But it felt very strong in the office I work at in Glendale, over 100 miles away.
It is always amazing to feel the absolute power of nature that an earthquake produces. And because it seems to have turned out to be nothing more than an annoyance rather than a big one, we who are native can and do joke about it.
But I think just the same, it is time to look over the emergency supplies.
