Palin Endorsements Pay Off

Former Alaska governor, Sarah Palin, is endorsing many Republicans in the primaries for the upcoming mid-term elections.
And, according to this map, her endorsements are paying off.
In 14 contested races, Mrs. Palin has backed the winner in 10 of the 14. And they are candidates that are both establishment and Tea Party backed.
For instance, here in California Mrs. Palin backed Republican senate candidate Carly Fiorina and she won her primary. And she has endorsed longtime conservative activist Star Parker in the California 37th congressional race against Democrat incumbent Laura Richardson. And, Miss Parker did not have a primary opponent. And she is considered to be Tea Party friendly. So, Mrs. Palin is batting 1.000 in California.
Not that she has taken her licks in endorsements.
The two most glaring losses are Vaughn Ward in Idaho and Tim Burns in Pennsylvania. And the Tim Burns endorsement is not a total loss. Mr. Burns did lose the special election to replace the late congressman John Murtha earlier this year. But, Mr. Burns did win the primary to face current congressman Mark Critz in November. So, that is one we wait to see on.
And there are still some primaries to go and about 19 endorsements to pan out. That includes her endorsement and support for former Republican presidential candidate Sen. John "F--- You" McCain.
But it does appear that careful and sometimes surprising endorsements have paid off for Mrs. Palin. It does appear that she has a pulse on the Republican primary voter.
The real test will be in November when the candidates have to win in the general election. If many of these candidates do win, there will be a groundswell of support for Mrs. Palin to take a shot at the Republican presidential nod in 2012.
But, a lot will have to happen other than endorsements winning elections.
Winning candidates will help bring credibility among some that feel Mrs. Palin is a lightweight in the national political scene. If that happens, well it will complicate some Republican presidential candidate's plans for '12.

Chelsea Clinton Weds

Today, Chelsea Clinton wed longtime boyfriend Marc Mezvinsky in a lavish wedding in rural New York state.
And I for one am happy and glad that they have had a big blow out affair.
This column over at The Wall Street Journal does fault the wedding in terms of economics. And while there is truth in what was written, one should note that this is, God willing, a one-time event.
Many people get so stressed about the impending nuptials that they elope. Parents get way too involved in the process. And because they are the ones usually forking the cash for the wedding, they get to have final say on a lot of the events of the happy day.
When Mrs. Right View From The Left Coast and I wed 10 years ago, we made it very small, intimate and about the wedding vows, not a lavish affair. After all, Mrs. Right View From The Left Coast had been married before. And I looked at the event as affirming our love for each other before Almighty God and wanted it to be about that rather that the hokeyness that most weddings have.
But to each his own.
I do not fault Chelsea and Marc (BTW, wrong spelling!) for wanting a big affair.
What will count is that they are still together 20 years from now and still have wonderful memories of their special day.

What 2 States Lead In Job Creation? Hint-Neither Are Blue

I find these kind of stats to be interesting. You know, the kind that show where jobs are and where they are not.
According to this article, the two leading job-creating states are Alaska and North Dakota.
Now, one may ask, what is different about these states?
Maybe that they are not governed by Democrats. Nor are the state legislatures Democrat. Maybe because both states have low taxes and not a lot of excessive regulation. Maybe because both economies are driven by oil.
The answer is probably a little of all of the above.
What is not mentioned in the article and the accompanying comments is that these states are business friendly.
That is why businesses are moving to both states. That is why both states are recruiting workers from other states to fill jobs.
In the article, G. Scott Thomas, a Portfolio.com demographer, said that in both states cases, they did not fall victim to the housing bubble and that the kind of jobs added helped overcome a bad economy.
Oh, and who led the United States in job losses? Wait, wait for it. . .no, NOT California but its neighbor to the east, Nevada. But California, Florida and Nevada combined to lead the United States in job losses since 2005. Combined the three states lost 1,629,000 jobs. And by a coinikidink, California leads the nation in high taxation and regulation. While Florida and Nevada are not nearly as bad, they too have a climate not favorable to diverse economic growth.
Alaska and North Dakota should be looked at by the rest of the United States. And the federal government. But alas, because they are doing something right, they will not be looked at. No, only states in the dumper get a look at and the analysis is usually wrong.

A German Lesson In The Excess Of The Welfare State

Miss Linker is a single mother of three children and she lives in Berlin, Germany.
Miss Linker's three children, ages six, seven and 10 years old. And they attend a private school.
Oh, BTW, Miss Linker is unemployed and gets government assistance to help pay for a $1,500 a month apartment. In the photo below, Miss Linker appears to have a notebook and or lap top computer.
Not bad for an unemployed, single mom of three kids in private school.
So, how does Miss Linker feel about all of this?
Here it is in her own words:
"It's my opinion that as a mother of three, I deserve a comfortable life."
Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot?!
Miss Linker, you do not deserve a comfortable life. You certainly can aspire to a comfortable life. But judging from this comment, you believe that a comfortable life includes being a sloth on the government dole.
Miss Linker has an unf---inbelivable sense of entitlement. On the backs of her fellow Germans.
What is really sad is that people like her do not realize that because of her attitude, government after government in post-war West Germany and united Germany have created a Welfare State that is absolutely unsustainable.
So much for the Protestant Work Ethic of many who came from Germany to the United States.
It is dying little by little thanks to people like Miss Linker.
Now, because the article in the Left Angeles Times did not go in depth about Miss Linker's reasons to be on the dole, I can not write with absolute certainty that she has not tried to look for work. But remember, essentially the government pays Miss Linker and in turn for her children to attend private schools. All part of making the moms of the Fatherland live comfortably, I guess.
But it is the whole reality that in Germany, being poor is not being poor at all.
Again, from the article is this comment from Hans-Peter Burghof, chairman of the banking and financial services department at the University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart:
"They have everything — a television, a car."
Bingo! And what's more, it is expected of the "poor" in Germany.
What Miss Linker reminds me of is Peggy Joseph.
Remember Peggy?
Miss Joseph explained why she was helping then Democrat presidential candidate Sen. Messiah Barack get elected president:
I never thought this day would ever happen. I won’t have to worry about putting gas in my car. I won’t have to worry about paying my mortgage. You know, if I help him [Barack Obama], he’s going to help me.
Miss Linker and Miss Joseph agree. They are entitled to have someone else pay for them.
News flash ladies and all others on the government welfare train all over the Western world.
We are running out of money. We are running out of people to tax to pay for redistributing wealth from the productive to the sloven. And maybe, just maybe ladies, you will be asked to pull your weight. You know, maybe W O R K a wee bit for the government cash.
Now to be fair, there is the tale of one Isabella Hatadym.
Miss Hatadym is also a single mom of a 13 year-old. But, Miss Hatadym was one that actually tried to better herself. She and her boyfriend opened a bar in their hometown of Stuttgart. But, in a real irony, no smoking laws in bars went into effect and the bar went belly up. It was a dream-crusher for Miss Hatadym. And, as fate would have it, Miss Hatadym was diagnosed with uterine cancer.
The government pays 75% of her rent, an additional $700 for expenses. And yet Miss Hatadym still works part-time for $6 an hour. Because of all of that, Miss Hatadym can have a flat-screen television. And can live with some comfort. But, Miss Hatadym is doing something to get that assistance from the government.
Miss Linker, no she can not be bothered while she is on her computer doing what ever she does with her busy days. Miss Linker thinks that it is wonderful that the government, her fellow Germans, help with her slovenly lifestyle:
"I see it as a privilege that we as citizens are not simply left alone by the state."
Yes, a real privilege, Miss Linker.
But the moral of this tale is that the thinking of Miss Linker and her American counterpart, Miss Joseph, is slowly creeping into American life. And it is being fed by a Democrat party and presidential administration that see government as the savior of the people.
Young people believe that they are entitled to attend college and or university. And someone else should pay for it. Old people think that they are entitled to free health care, no matter their ability to pay or not. People believing that a government-ran health care system can free people to pursue passions without having to worry about paying for health care out of pocket. Even if that means not actually working. Oh yeah, they can just keep collecting unemployment benefits for at this point up to two years.
This is creating a righteous backlash in the United States.
For those of us still fortunate to be working, many are realizing that hey, wait a minute! WE are paying, through our taxes at multiple levels, for others to get a free ride.
It is not unlike the era from President Franklin Delano Roosevelt's Raw Deal, er New Deal, to the election of Ronald Reagan in 1980. It took a economic calamity, the reign of Jimmah Carter, to wake up the American people.
And under the stellar leadership of the Dear Leader, President Obama, we are at that point once again in our history.
What is happening in Germany is instructive to us in the United States. And people like Fee Linker are going to further open up the American eyes to the dangers of an excessive Welfare State.

Mosque Wars In So Cal

Most people across the United States have a general knowledge of a war of words between those that want to build an Islamic mosque at the site of the 9/11 attacks in New York City.

But right here in rural So Cal, there is a another version of what I can only call Mosque Wars.

Members of the Islamic community in Temecula/Murietta California want to move out of their warehouse mosque into a new one that they want to build on a pretty large swath of land in Temecula.

In and of itself, I have no problem with Islamic believers wanting to pray in an actual mosque rather in a rented warehouse. Many Christians and Jewish believers would feel the same way.

But, it is what happens in a mosque that should have people concerned about what the Islamic Center of Temecula Valley could be preaching or teaching.

Yes, the current mosque has been around for 10 years. Yes, it is inconspicuous, so people more than likely do not even give it a second thought that there is a mosque in town. And because of that, people do not give a thought to what maybe going on in there.

But, what they want to build will be rather large when there are currently about 150 practicing Islamic people in the whole valley area. An area of about 250,000 people.


The above photo shows what the new mosque would look like. It would start off as a 4,100 square-foot mosque and eventually be almost 25,000 square-feet. That clearly is for the hoards of Islamics that the Islamic Center hope to have attend the new mosque.

The opposition is being led by Pastor Bill Rench of Calvary Baptist Church. One comment that Pastor Bill made is, regrettably, correct:

The pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, just across a cul-de-sac from the site of the mosque, said the two religions "mix like oil and water"

Just ask Coptic Christians in Egypt. Or Christians in Saudi Arabia. Oops! My bad. There are NO Christians in Saudi Arabia. They are banned with any other religion that is not Islamic. The pastor is correct.

Now, one way that the Islamic Center of Temecula Valley can diffuse the potential problem is to be in the forefront in condemning the radical elements of Islam. These Islamics must stand for the rights of women. They must stand for religious freedom and tolerance. They must say unequivocally NO to terrorists that act in the name of Islam.

But I believe that they will play the victim rather than be proactive in gaining community support.

The area that this mosque is being proposed is conservative and a place that strongly attracts Evangelical Christians. If you look at the mosque, it would serve as a reminder that Islam believes that they are on the rise. It is a large undertaking for a minuscule faith community.

This little version of Mosque Wars does not have the emotional element of the 9/11 mosque proposal. But it is an indicator of many more skirmishes that will not go away anytime soon.

Great Take On The Dear Leader's Maine Sojourn

This post by Victor Davis Hanson is a great one on the Dear Leader, President Obama, and his vacation that he and the family are taking in Maine.
I do not begrudge the Dear Leader, President Obama, taking a well deserved rest on the doorstep on Kennebunkport. After all, the more he is there, the less damage he can do a the Dear Leader.
But it is the sheer hypocrisy that the minions, followers and sycophants of the the Dear Leader, President Obama, in justifying this kind of behavior.
Look at something that Mr. Hanson did not report.
That the First Dog, Bo, travelled all by his lonesome ahead of the family.
Can you imagine the hoot, hollering and cries if one George W. Bush had done this with the family dog, Barney? Because remember, all eeevvviiilll happened when Mr. Bush was president. This president, the Dear Leader, President Obama, can do no wrong even if it right in front of people's eyes.
But what Mr. Hanson also pointed out, and this is what is important, is that the eeevvviiilll rich and or wealthy are not Republicans and definitely not conservative. That this nouveau riche is very liberal, even left-wing. And wracked with White, liberal guilt.
Note that Mr. Hanson used the example of Bill Gates.
Mr. Gates was going along with life until a lot of lefties made an issue of Mr. Gates not doing "something" with his wealth. That something is giving it away and or setting up some kind of foundation that would support some lefty cause. Suddenly, Mr. Gates followed the and has given away a lot of his money and set up foundations.
Not that there is anything wrong with that.
But it was not done because Mr. Gates wanted to. He was pressured. And now he is A-OK with the nouvaeu riche crowd.
And the Dear Leader, President Obama, is right at home with this crowd. These people that truly look down on the "little" or "small" people.
As Mr. Hanson wrote, the Dear Leader, President Obama, needs to update the populist, anti-wealthy hand book just a bit.

Michael Gerson's Weak Attack On "Fellow" Conservatives

Former George W. Bush speechwriter Michael Gerson has had a gig as a house conservative/Republican over at The Washington Post.
It appears from this latest column, the lobotomy that The Post does to conservatives seems to be taking hold nicely.
In the latest tome from Mr. Gerson, he goes out of his way to gratuitously attack, well "fellow" conservatives.
See, Mr. Gerson seems to think that the yucky conservatives, you the Sharron Angle, Rand Paul types are going to hurt the conservative cause and the Republican party.
Take Mr. Gerson's attack on Mrs. Angle for this comment that she made:

"They put that Second Amendment in there for a good reason, and that was for the people to protect themselves against a tyrannical government. And in fact, Thomas Jefferson said it's good for a country to have a revolution every 20 years. I hope that's not where we're going, but you know, if this Congress keeps going the way it is, people are really looking toward those Second Amendment remedies."

And Mr. Gerson, not realizing that Mrs. Angle is indeed playing over the top compares her to those that wear Che Guevara t-shirts:

It is the conservative equivalent of the Che Guevara T-shirt - a fashion, a gesture, a toying with ideas the wearer only dimly comprehends.

Somehow, I am rather offended that a so-called conservative would compare another conservative in any way, shape or form to a mass-murdering thug like Guevara. And I am certain most conservatives and yes Republicans feel the same way.
Now, FTR, Mrs. Angle was on a radio talk show, Lars Larson, when she made the comment. And she did take a look and realized that she was over the top and backed off the hardness of the comment. John McCormick over at The Weekly Standard puts context into the comment and the aftermath.
Then Mr. Gerson slams Kentucky Republican senate candidate Rand Paul and his libertarian leanings.
Here is a palate cleanser:

The fear is not that Paul will make gaffes or mistakes, but rather that he will further reveal his own political views. In America, the ideology of libertarianism is itself a scandal. It involves not only a retreat from Obamaism but a retreat from the most basic social commitments to the weak, elderly and disadvantaged, along with a withdrawal from American global commitments. Libertarianism has a rigorous ideological coldness at its core. Voters are alienated when that core is exposed.

And voters are not turned off by the excess of the Dear Leader, President Obama and his minions? In that one paragraph, it is why so-called "compassionate conservatism" turned out to be a failure. And yes, I do not consider myself a libertarian. But I agree with Mr. Paul that the government at all levels is too big and too unyielding. And back to socialism. It is much colder than libertarianism. It takes away any sense of individualism and allows a large government to be excessive.
But what really drives Mr. Gerson mad is the "anti-immigrant" rhetoric. That means that people that do not support so-called comprehensive immigration "reform"-amnesty-are hurting the Republican party.
Here is what Mr. Gerson has to say about the Arizona law recently passed and signed into law:

In addition, the Republican wave carries along a group more interested in stigmatizing immigrants than winning their support. Some conservatives have found Arizona's anti-immigration law a cause worth fighting for - a law that is poorly written, ineffective, symbolically toxic and likely to be overturned.

Just because one is not for so-called comprehensive immigration "reform", one automatically "stigmatizes" all immigrants.
Please, what childish tripe!
The overwhleming majority of those opposed to what the Bush 43 administration and the Obama administration want to do about illegal immigration want two things done before there is any talk about major "reform".
First, secure the border. Do what ever it takes, reasonably, to stop the tide of those entering the United States, illegally, from primarily the Southern border.
Second, enforce the laws already on the books from the 1986 Simpson-Mazzoli act that should have done border enforcement in the first place.
And most want laws reformed that place a priority high value immigrants. Not just the cheap labor favored by some businesses. And future Democrat voters.
I have a three-tier plan that I will summarize.
If anyone is in the United States illegally for five years or less, deport without any questions asked. And ban them from ever being considered for a work visa, guest worker or American citizenship.
If anyone is here five to 10 years, give them an opportunity to get a Green Card and or apply for citizenship. But at the back of the line. No if, ands or buts.
If anyone is here 10 years or more, give them amnesty. So long as they have no criminal record or do not pose a long term threat to the security of the United States.
But, back to Mr. Gerson.
See, the compassionate conservative that he is does not realize that the American people have had it with big government. A big government that is only going to increase if there is not a change in direction come November.
Some of those elected will be a different kind of conservative. But, we should all keep our eye on the big picture. That is winning both houses of congress and the majority of governors offices and statehouses.
Some primaries are over and now is not the time to replay them as Mr. Gerson wants to do. The voters have spoken. And the voters will speak in November.
I wonder if people like Mr. Gerson will be listening?

Boxer Underwater In Survey USA Poll-Oh Yeah Baby!

The news is something to behold as you can see by this link Fiorina Leads Boxer for First Time in California Senate Race.
According to Survey USA, in a poll of 1,000 voters (840 registered voters and 614 likely voters), Republican senate candidate Carly Fiorina is leading Sen. Ma'am Boxer, 47%-45%. And it is within the margin of error. But, it is the first time that Mrs. Fiorina has a lead in any recent poll since winning the Republican nomination in June.
The trend is clearly going towards Mrs. Fiorina and away from the cancer of the senate, Sen. Ma'am Boxer. Mrs. Fiorina has gone from a six-point deficit to a two-point lead. But, note the trend. And this is when people are supposedly not paying all that much attention, with it getting into the heart of summer.
According to the same poll, that leaves about eight percent of voters undecided. Split that vote and Mrs. Fiorina wins.
Again, this is no time to gloat or think that this means the race is over. It is nowhere near over. Sen. Ma'am Boxer always pulls the rabbit from her hat-abortion.
Almost any Sen. Ma'am Boxer commercial in election season is a primer that she has been steadfast in the "right" of women to kill their babies. And that she is tireless in so-called "women's issues".
Too bad that in Sen. Ma'am Boxerland, that seems to not include such things as the economy, how the government is taking away many a woman's income for redistribution. Nah, not important in Sen. Ma'am Boxerland.
That is where, I hope, Mrs. Fiorina gets her but good.
Mrs. Fiorina has had to make difficult decisions as a businesswoman. And yes, she had to cut jobs. And no, she did not do a Snidely Whiplash, play with a handle-bar moustache and gleefully cut thousands from her stint as CEO of Hewlett-Packard. But that is the difference between a real world business executive and a career politician who seems only capable of shooting her mouth off.
The trend is going our way. Keep it going against Sen. Ma'am Boxer.

Bob Inglis And The Garbage Out Theory

What do Bob Inglis, Robert Bennett, Arlen Specter, Lincoln Chaffee have in common?
Three of these people will be joining Mr. Chaffee out of politics soon. Or actually out of elected office as Mr. Chaffee is running as an independent for governor of Rhode Island.
These are all people that have lost either in Republican primaries (Mr. Inglis and Sen. Bennett), switched parties to avoid defeat (Sen. Specter) and ran so far to the left no one could tell he was a Republican (Mr. Chaffee).
Count soon to be former congressman Bob Inglis in the garbage out category. The six-term South Carolina Republican unloaded against those Republicans in South Carolina that just said no.
Jimmie Bise over at Hotair.com has the goods on this reprobate. Remember, when people remind a politician that their votes mean something, such as voting for the TARP bank bailout, they are the bad ones. Not how said congressman voted.
Now Mr. Inglis says that the Republican party is being led by demagogues and talk-radio types. As if. And he pulls the ol' rabbit out of the hat when all else fails.
RAAAAACISM!
Here is Mr. Inglis lying about the infamous "spitting" incident against Black congressmen as the so-called health care "reform" vote was taking place:

Inglis said he was shocked during the health care votes as he watched protesters jeering Rep. John Lewis, a Georgia Democrat who was beaten as a leading civil rights activist in the 1960s.
Inglis said he was too far away during the jeering incident to hear whether the protesters shouted racial epithets, as Lewis and other black lawmakers have claimed. But Inglis said the behavior was threatening and abusive.
“I caught him at the door and said, ‘John, I guess you’ve been here before,’” Inglis said.


First, the protesters were not jeering at Mr. Lewis specifically. They were hooting and hollering at the collective of Democrat congressmen making themselves a laughingstock. Remember, it was Speaker Jackass Nancy Pelosi walking with the Black congressmen with some ridiculous over sized gavel. The protesters were righteously angry with any supporter of the so-called health care "reform". And since by Mr. Inglis own admission, he was too far away to know anything that the protesters said or did. Yet he made a comment to Mr. Lewis trying to indicate that he knew what these people were all about.
RAAAAACISM!
What Mr. Inglis did not want to tell in the same interview is that he was trying to pass a watered-down version of the so-called health care "reform". See, Mr. Inglis plan was also one that would have forced Americans to buy health insurance. Read the following:

Mr. Inglis favors requiring everyone to carry health insurance, which he said the government "is uniquely suited" to enforce. He also supports making insurers guarantee coverage to anyone willing to pay for it, subsidizing premiums for people on low incomes and a series of policy changes intended to reduce premiums for everyone.

Really, what is the substantive difference between Mr. Inglis and the Dear Leader, President Obama, and what the Democrats did?
Hmm, it appears that the major difference was on the abortion issue. Continuing,

Mr. Inglis says he opposes what he calls "Obama Care" because it includes public funding for abortion and a government-provided option for coverage that would ultimately cause "a devaluation of life" and public costs to spiral upward.

And again, what was the major difference between Mr. Inglis ideas and the Dear Leader, President Obama and the Democrats.
N O T H I N G!
In the end, Mr. Inglis was actually trying to jump on the health care "reform" express and in the end got burned.
But it is not his fault that the Republicans in his district found this the wrong approach. No, he blames talk radio, Glenn Beck and raaaaacists.
What Mr. Inglis does not realize is that we the people are not interested in big government "solutions" to problems. We do not want to be told we have to buy health insurance. We do not want to be told what to eat, how to dress, when and what we can drive, whether or not we can use plastic shopping bags. The list goes on.
Had Mr. Inglis actually looked at and promoted a free-market approach to health care reform, he would probably not have been defeated in a primary as he was last month. What the people are saying is look at other ways to deal with problems.
It has nothing to do with talk radio, Glenn Beck, racism. It is the feeling the government at all levels is getting bigger and bigger and the individual is getting smaller and smaller.
My advice to people like Bob Inglis, Robert Bennett, Arlen Specter and Lincoln Chaffee is this.
Stop demagoging people that oppose you. Listen to them. If you can not convince them of what you believe to be right, then let the chips fall where they may.
But in the meantime, with Bob Inglis, it is garbage that voters chose to remove. Rightfully so.

Sen. Ma'am Boxer Tanking!

The good news, if there is any, for California Democrat Sen. Barbara Ma'am Boxer, is that the election is in November.
The bad news is that the election is in November.
According to the latest Field Poll, Sen. Ma'am Boxer is ahead of her Republican opponent, Carly Fiorina, 47%-44%, within the margin of error in the poll.
As expected, Republicans and conservatives are all in for Mrs. Fiorina. The primary campaign is over and the focus is on beating Sen. Ma'am Boxer.
The poll was done in a kind of strange manner.
A total of 1,390 registered voters was the overall sample. Out of that, 1,005 were considered likely voters. And, if you know anything about this blog, I take likely voters over any other group in any poll.
But the news for Sen. Ma'am Boxer does not get any better.
Sen. Ma'am Boxer has her worst numbers since becoming a senator in 1992. In the poll and among registered voters, Sen. Ma'am Boxer is at 43% disapproval and 42% approval. But worse was the number among likely voters. There, Sen. Ma'am Boxers numbers are worse with 48% disapproving of her performance as senator. You know, the title that she reminded an army general she "worked" so hard to get.
These are lousy numbers for an incumbent and even worse considering that California is a Democrat state that has sent Sen. Ma'am Boxer three times to the senate since 1992.
And Mrs. Fiorina has not even begun to fight as hard as she will to wrestle this seat away from Sen. Ma'am Boxer.
Remember, at some point, something about a blimp and Demon Sheep will certainly rear their heads. And laugh all you want Sen. Ma'am Boxer supporters, but these ads more than likely helped Mrs. Fiorina gain the Republican nod to face this embarrassment of a senator.
For the first time since she won election in the Bill Clinton year of 1992, the Gods are smiling on the side of the Republicans. That finally, there is a candidate that might, no more than might, will finally rid the state of California the cancer that is Sen. Ma'am Boxer.
Imagine this.
As bad as these numbers are at this point for Sen. Ma'am Boxer, they will only get worse. And once Mrs. Fiorina gets on the airwaves on radio and television, and of course the internets, it will be a long hot summer for Sen. Ma'am Boxer.
If the Field Poll, a Democrat-leaning poll is already showing these dismal numbers, wait until a real pollster like Scott Rasmussen gives us what is really going on here.
We can not let out guard down. If you want to fork a little cash before Team Obama and sycophants like Sen. Ma'am Boxer take it away, here is where to go.
We need to keep those numbers tanking against Sen. Ma'am Boxer. It is time to send her back here to California to retirement.

The New IRS Symbol? Looks Kind Of Familiar!

I was looking around at The Corner on National Review Online and I stumbled onto this rather frightening photo that seems to look like the new symbol of the Internal Revenue Service.



Now, does this not look familiar? Where have I seen it before?
Oh, yes! It is the election symbol for the Dear Leader, President Obama.

LeBron Going To The Miami Heat And It May Be An Issue In Ohio Governor's Race

I am certain by now, you are aware that basketball star LeBron James is going to be playing for the Miami Heat in the next National Basketball Association campaign.
The residents of Cleveland and fans of the Cleveland Cavaliers are ready to jump into Lake Erie over this abomination.
So, what does this have to do with the Ohio governor's race?
Well, it appears that the incumbent governor, Democrat Ted Strickland, went so far as to participate in a parody of the 1980s moment of celebutard wailing, "We Are The World". It was done to encourage Mr. James to stay a member of the Cavs.
As Jim Geraghty, Mr. Campaign Spot, points out in this post, it looks like this is a nice little issue for Republican gubernatorial candidate John Kasich to pounce on.
In fact, Team Kasich said this in regards to the issue on Alan Colmes radio show:

“Alan, we’ve lost 400,000 jobs out here and the last guy I worry about is LeBron James. You know I mean, we all hope he’ll stay in Cleveland. We think we’ve got a great guy there that can turn everything around, but we got some serious problems,” Kasich said.
Kasich, flashing a bit of sports knowledge, did sympathize with Cleveland fans who are still waiting for a championship from the Cavs, Browns or Indians.
“It’d have been so great for the Cavs to be playing because Cleveland has struggled with its sports teams and we need a little, we need a little victory so we might need to steal some players out of New York to help us out,” Kasich told Colmes.


Great move on Mr. Kasich's part to feel the pain of Cleveland's hapless sports teams while making the overwhelmingly obvious point that Ohio is not leading the United States in job growth.
Mr. Kasich is a serious man and wants to be the governor of Ohio to bring the state back from the abyss.
Gov. Strickland thinks that worrying about one whole job is worth a song comes off as someone out of touch.
Well, John Kasich comes out on top on this one. And Gov. Strickland, along with that brain trust, Vice President Joe Biden, look rather foolish.
I'm sorry for Cleveland. As a Browns fan, believe me I feel pain every dead of winter as the Browns fight to flee the cellar. But there are some serious issues such as jobs. Jobs for those that need work. And Gov. Ted Strickland does not seem to get that.

A Little Shaking In Cali

A little over one hour ago an earthquake struck Southern California and the original magnitude of 5.9 was downgraded to a 5.4.
The shaker was centered about 13 miles north of Borrego Springs in Northern San Diego county.
It is a sparsely populated area.
But it felt very strong in the office I work at in Glendale, over 100 miles away.
It is always amazing to feel the absolute power of nature that an earthquake produces. And because it seems to have turned out to be nothing more than an annoyance rather than a big one, we who are native can and do joke about it.
But I think just the same, it is time to look over the emergency supplies.

HAPPY 234TH INDEPENDENCE DAY!


Today is July 4, 2010, the 234th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
Without a doubt it is one of the great secular documents ever writen, along with the United States constitution.
That is why today, I decided to let the founding document do the talking.
Here is the Declaration of Independence as written and signed on July 4, 1776:
When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Televisions Six Most Annoying Talk Hosts

Hmm, do you want to know what is interesting about this tidbit on the Six Most Annoying Televison Talk Show Hosts? Not one is from the eeevvviiilll Fox News Channel!
Well, who would have guessed that the most annoying host would be Larry King?!
When Mr. King is not busy cheating on multiple wives, he is asking softball after softball questions to his multitude of guests. And he proudly admits to ignorance on many of the subjects that he has a guest on.
Amazing!
But I would have put Joyless Behar at number one, myself. But hey, it is not what I think on this subject.
But the writer of the piece, Allison Waldman, is rather spot-on with those on the list and what is so annoying about them.
I have always thought that Bob Costas was the smartest kid in the class type. And a Mr. Know-it-all. You know what is said about Mr. Know-it-all types. They know a lot about nothing. That is what is becoming more and more obvious about Mr. Costas.
To be honest, I had not heard of Andy Cohen, but then again I do not watch Bravo all that much. But all one needs to know is that Bravo is a subsidiary of NBC Universal. Enough said.
And James Lipton is also on Bravo. What another shock and surprise! It is not that I find him annoying as much as what comes off as a condescending tone. Makes the show kind of sort of unwatchable.
I have never watched Jonathan Ross. So, I have no opinion of him.
But what is interesting is that two of the six are on CNN. Mr. King is on the big one, CNN. Miss Behar is on the rebranded, sappy HLN. Which used to be Headline News.
And they wonder why they are mired in last place in the cable news wars.
I think that this list can be easily expanded and include David Letterman. Mr. Letterman is one of the most loathsome people on television today. I do not get why people watch the guy.
And I would like to see a list of Six Of The Best Television Talk Show Hosts.
Maybe a future post?!

A Happy Independence Day-From Calvin Coolidge

On July 5, 1926, President Calvin Coolidge delivered this speech at Independence Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the birthplace of the United States of America.
What is fascinating about this speech is that it was less than 75 years after the dreaded Civil War. And yet, even today, it is one of great clarity as to why and how this Great Land came into being.
But it is the last paragraph that hits me like an 18-wheeler:

No other theory is adequate to explain or comprehend the Declaration of Independence. It is the product of the spiritual insight of the people. We live in an age of science and of abounding accumulation of material things. These did not create our Declaration. Our Declaration created them. The things of the spirit come first. Unless we cling to that, all our material prosperity, overwhelming though it may appear, will turn to a barren scepter in our grasp. If we are to maintain the great heritage which has been bequeathed to us, we must be like-minded as the fathers who created it. We must not sink into a pagan materialism. We must cultivate the reverence which they had for the things that are holy. We must follow the spiritual and moral leadership which they showed.

So-called "Silent Cal" could give this speech this Independence Day, 2010 and it would be 110% correct. But the time is worse as we are sinking into pagan materialism. And President Coolidge was spot-on with giving props to the fact that the Founders were driven by a spiritual and moral leadership.
No, it was not perfect. In fact, the issue of slavery threatened the whole concept of a United States of America from the beginning. And not even a Civil War stopped the residual effects of such an odious stain on our Great Land. But it was the willingness of so many to strain towards the concept of the second paragraph of the Declaration of Independence:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.

That battle is still ongoing today, and peacefully, thank God.
The Declaration of Independence is one of the most important documents is the history of man. It can not be forgotten or its meaning perverted.
President Calvin Coolidge got it. And many Americans are getting it. And I think President Coolidge would be proud.

A Former President, A Dead Segregationist And A Whopper Of A Tale

I really was trying to avoid writing about the death of Sen. Robert Byrd (D-WV), but at a memorial service in the senator's home state, the former President, William Jefferson Blythe Clinton, told a whopper of a tale about Sen. Byrd.
If you read, watch or listen to the Obamawhore media, you will be led to believe that Sen. Byrd was a great man who changed from "segregationist" to leader in civil rights.
Please.
What many will not be told in truth is that long before he was Sen. Byrd, he was a member of the Ku Klux Klan. Yes, the White dudes in the white hoods. And then Mr. Byrd was not just a member. Mr. Byrd was a recruiter for the Klan. And a damn good one as a keagle, he recruited 150 more members of the Klan. And he continued up in the leadership gaining the title of Grand Cyclops. And while gathering new members and going up the leadership ladder, Mr. Byrd even wrote this lovely letter to a segregationist senator, Theodore Bilbo (D-MS):

I shall never fight in the armed forces with a Negro by my side ... Rather I should die a thousand times, and see Old Glory trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds.

Beautiful!
And it should be noted that Mr. Byrd never served in the armed forces with any of the blackest specimens from the wilds.
But to hear the Great Whoremonger, Mr. Clinton tell it, ah shucks, Mr. Byrd was just a passing member of the Klan. After all, he was trying to get elected to office. Read the following:

There are a lot of people who wrote these eulogies for Senator Byrd, and the newspapers, and I read a bunch of them. And they mentioned that he once had a fleeting association with the Ku Klux Klan. And what does that mean?
I'll tell what you it means. He was a country boy from the hills and hollers of West Virginia. He was trying to get elected.


A fleeting association?!
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?!
The man, Mr. Byrd, was a keagle, a recruiter for the hated Klan. He became a Grand Cyclops, what ever the hell that means. He was moving up the ladder of the Klan.
Now, if Mr. Byrd was in South Carolina, another segregationist, J. Strom Thurmond, would have been prosecuting him for being a member of the Klan. Sen. Thurmond may have been a segregationist, but he also opposed lynching and poll taxes that were introduced as a was to keep Black Americans from voting in the South.
As late as 1968, then Sen. Byrd referred to the Rev. Martin Luther King as a trouble maker. Sen. Byrd did not vote for either Black appointed to the supreme court, Thurgood Marshall and Clarence Thomas.
And this doozy from a Fox News Sunday
interview in 2001:

They're much, much better than they've ever been in my lifetime ... I think we talk about race too much. I think those problems are largely behind us ... I just think we talk so much about it that we help to create somewhat of an illusion. I think we try to have good will. My old mom told me, 'Robert, you can't go to heaven if you hate anybody.' We practice that. There are white niggers. I've seen a lot of white niggers in my time, if you want to use that word. We just need to work together to make our country a better country, and I'd just as soon quit talking about it so much.

Oh, if Sen. Byrd were truly with it, he would have used the term "wigger". But, that would show him to be too cool, right?
But remember, folks, Sen. Byrd just had a fleeting moment with the Klan. You know, to get elected.
This pearl of wisdom comes from a man that counts as one of his political hero's the late senator, J. William Fullbright. And, surprise! Sen. Fulbright was a segregationist. Oh, I guess just to get elected, right Great Whoremonger?
No, Sen. Byrd covered up his blatant racism in his later years. But in his public politics, even as late as 2001, it came out. In a futile effort to try to say that things are just peachy in race relations. But damn if he did not slip in a nigger. For old time sake, right?
Robert Byrd maybe answering for his sin of racism as we speak. But the record is clear and can not and will not be ignored by those of us wanting the truth. Not the cover up of the Obamawhore media and one William Jefferson Blythe Clinton.

Jackass Nancy Pelosi. Stupidest. House Speaker. EVAH!

It pains me to write this about the Speaker of the House, Jackass Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), but just when one thinks this brain surgeon can not top stupidity, well, dammit! she does.
Today, the Speaker said, with a straight face, that unemployment benefits are-get ready for this-creating jobs faster than any other program.
WOW!
Amazing!
Only this imbecile can say such a thing with a straight face.
And as the television pitcher says, but wait! There's more!
Here is some more wisdom from the worst and stupidest House Speaker. EVAH! :

"It injects demand into the economy," Pelosi said, arguing that when families have money to spend it keeps the economy churning. "It creates jobs faster than almost any other initiative you can name."

No Jackass Nancy. Something else would create jobs faster.
That would be having an economy that has a lot of money in the private sector where entrepreneurs can get projects going and, yes, get Americans back to work.
But, under the leadership of the Dear Leader, President Obama, Senate Majority Leader Sen. Dingy Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and yourself, more money is in the hands of the federal government. And, surprise, unemployment is hovering around 10%. Oh, that is the official numbers from the Labor Department. Unofficially, unemployment may be as high as 17% in the United States.
Right now, unemployment benefits last 26 weeks. But, for some chronically unemployed Americans, they can get up to 7 3 weeks of unemployment insurance.
Unreal.
As the linked article points out, these unemployed Americans could be contributing more to the economy if they were working. While unemployment insurance is helpful, it can be gamed by many unemployed and it is. And those of us still working are paying for it.
I have had to use unemployment insurance in my life. But instead of depending on it alone, while looking for work I did temp work for quite a while. I did not find it a fun way to go, but many do not mind. And if they are given no incentive to look for full-time work, well some just will not do so.
If you want to get the economy moving in the United States, on November 2, 2010, elect a Republican congress.
And please, please, send this imbecile, Jackass Nancy Pelosi, back to minority leader. Or better yet, back to San Francisco.
