UPDATE: Well, my Dodgers apparently made the Pittsburgh Pirates look really good in losing to them today, 11-5. Vicente Padilla lasted a rip-roaring 4 1/3 innings. Hmm, maybe this is hopeless and change?!
Today is Opening Day in major league baseball and the best time of the year.
It is the time that winter says goodbye and spring brings hope to all-even the Washington Nationals.
In less than two hours, my beloved Los Angeles Dodgers begin their quest for another National League Western Division title against the increasingly hapless Pittsburgh Pirates.
If the rain stops by 7pm Pacific time, the Anaheim Angels* will also begin their quest to repeat as American League Western Division champs.
Ahh, all teams start the same but within the next couple of months, we will separate the pretenders from the contenders.
Here is to a great 2010 baseball season. And once again, my wish that we will see a real Freeway Series-in October-between the Anaheim Angels* and Los Angeles Dodgers.
*This blog will NEVER refer to the Angels as the "Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim"!

Opening Day is magical!!
God there was nothing like Opening Day. It was the advent of a new life, a new arising!
And finding $20 bills didn't hurt either, wink wink!
Oh boy! Do I remember that day!? But this I DO remember. It was 1988 Opening Day, the Dodgers were playing the Dodgers and the Dodgers did lose. I think the score was 4-3. Yet remember, they went on to win it all that year! Maybe this is the year. We should get together for a game this year. But take public transportation. I don't want you driving drunk!
