The Left Smears And A Great, Decent Family

I would never link to the Daily Kos, but it is the ridiculous rumor, outright lie, that was posted over this past weekend that made Republican presumptive vice-presidential nominee, Gov. Sarah Palin, release the following statement:

ARLINGTON, VA -- Today, Sarah and Todd Palin issued the following statement regarding today's Reuters story:
"We have been blessed with five wonderful children who we love with all our heart and mean everything to us. Our beautiful daughter Bristol came to us with news that as parents we knew would make her grow up faster than we had ever planned. We're proud of Bristol's decision to have her baby and even prouder to become grandparents. As Bristol faces the responsibilities of adulthood, she knows she has our unconditional love and support.
"Bristol and the young man she will marry are going to realize very quickly the difficulties of raising a child, which is why they will have the love and support of our entire family. We ask the media to respect our daughter and Levi's privacy as has always been the tradition of children of candidates."

Now, if you read the venomous smear job of Kos blogger and her allies such as The Atlantic's neurotic homosexual, Andrew Sullivan, you will think that it is some trashy television novella.
The fact that they, in true Joseph Goebbels fashion, create a big lie to force a vice-presidential candidate to tell the world something that should be between her and her family and yes, God.
I mean, these venomous beings were grouping at a rumor that was looked into by the Anchorage Daily News about the baby that Gov. Palin was carrying. The Daily News did not get the two-plus-two-equals-four out of the investigation and correctly dropped it. And, yes Virginia, there is a photo of a rather pregnant-looking Gov. Palin.
No matter for the venom. If the lie begets the truth, no problem.
I would rather spend the rest of this post about the amazing strength and courage of 17-year-old Bristol Palin and her parents, Sarah and Todd and the family.
So many young girls could not go to their parents and tell them that they got pregnant. For a lot of reasons. But, while young Bristol did have premarital sex, she seemed to be able to go to her parents and talk to them. I am certain it is not the kind of news that they wanted to hear. No parent wants to hear that their daughter is pregnant and unmarried. And in this case, a high-school senior.
I am not privy to the conversations that the family had. None of us were nor should we be.
But, one has to think that young Bristol wanted to follow the example of her mother, who went against all modern medical advice and brought a fifth child into the world. A boy born with Down Syndrome. And yes classy Kossacs, it really is Gov. Palin's baby!
It takes a very strong and yes, very mature young girl to make that kind of life-altering decision. And, it appears that the baby's father, Levi Johnston, is willing to take the also life-altering step and be responsible to marry young Bristol.
What is most important is the support and love of Bristol Palin's parents. Being a sitting governor that takes on the establishment leaves her open to any seemingly not kosher kind of event, such as a daughter becoming pregnant before marriage. But, Gov. Palin did not buckle and maybe tell Bristol to get an abortion. No, she put her faith into practice. And, while Bristol did make the mistake of having premarital sex, the end result, God willing, will be a beautiful baby. Just like Bristol's baby brother, Trig.
Put it this way. While the sex was not the ideal, outside of marriage, the end result will be that Bristol does not get an abortion. She brings a baby into the world. A baby that may grow up to be a leader, just like Grandma Sarah.
A real lesson here is that parents must be able to talk with their children. Children do make mistakes. Sometimes real humdingers. But, if they are afraid to come to you, the ones that brought them into the world with God's help, the mistake can deteriorate into something much worse. As a step parent, and even though my stepson will be 28 this year, I totally understand that sometimes, we do not want to even listen to our children. But, we have to. They have to be able to come to us no matter what.
So, Kossacs are disgusting, venomous freaks who have nothing better to do than create a scandal where there is none. And, they do not care who they may hurt in the process. Its politics, after all and all is fair game to these scum.
Sarah and Todd Palin are amazing parents. They were trusted enough by Bristol Palin that they were told about something that would make many a parent go off the deep end. And, their first reaction may have been that. But, they did not turn on their daughter. Instead they gave her love and support. And she will need that. And her soon to be husband, Levi Johnston.

It amazes me that people even speculated about the down syndrome baby being the 16 year olds...down syndrome babies are typically born to older mothers...say in their 40's, 44 to be exact. Stupid idiots. great post. :)N

THe Dimwits are having a field day because they have been able to shift the talk to a pregnant teenager and away from Wm. Ayers and Obama's lack of experience. Parents can teach children right and wrong, but children have to ultimately take responsibility for their own actions. I am sure that Biden was taught not to plagerize someone else's work, but he did it not once, but three times that we know about. Obama was lucky that he didn't get arrested or caught buying and using pot and cocaine. I heard him describe waking up in a back alley in NY and wondering what had happened. I am sure drugs put him there. If the press gives him a pass, why can't they leave a teenager alone? She is not running for anything

When life hands you lemons, make lemonade, right?

You've all got your hands full spinning this one into something fit to drink.

And I don't mean the pregnant daughter. I mean the adults that're perfectly willing to put her in the national spotlight, no matter what the consequences, because they're the ones with the lust that won't let anything stand in its way..

It seems to me that there are two possibilities:

1. McCain didn't know this was coming, because his choice of Miss Alaska was not thought through at all. That doesn't speak well of his decision-making skills, for starters.

2. McCain knew, but went ahead with his dream ticket anyway. Blaming the evil left wing blogs ("All hail, Dark Lord Kos" - sorry, it's mandatory. Gotta do it or I lose my license) as the reason for releasing the news means to me that he figured he planned to hide it from the voters until election day.

Or...what, exactly?

Miss Alaska will be off this ticket faster than Tom Eagleton, and I've got a $20 donation to the charity of our host's choice to back up that prediction.

Any takers? Because if I win, that means you send $20 to the charity I choose. (Hint - it's called 'Partners in Health').

Dumping Miss Alaska, and putting Mike Huckabee in her place, is McCain's only hope for salvaging what little shred of dignity he has left.

Oh, he's still gonna lose, whether she stays or goes, and it doesn't even matter that much to how badly he goes down.

But by sticking with this multi-layered trainwreck, the gift that just keeps on giving, McCain makes clear that he isn't just a shameless hack - he's a stone dumb shameless hack as well.

My opinion, of course ;^)

Victor's Voice, you have it right, but the most important thing to remember is we are electing Bristol's mother, a person with a lot of talent and gumption for these most uncertain times. Our present VP Chaney, worked hard with a bum ticker and everyone knew he'd never last; A lesbian daughter that everyone thought was going to be an embarrassment but no one mentions her now, and his ties to Haliburton. They got all the contracts for Iraq because they make the investment in people and technology to outbid anyone and besides no one else could do the job.
Lets concentrate on the future where I see good things happening with our GOP. Pray for the Alaska Governor and her family and while you are at it let's send a few prayers for McCain to beat off the vermin and win the election in Novenber.

The truth has no place in the demonization of anyone; "Oooo, a pregnant teen, you know what that means!" "Oooo, Cheney's daughter is gay, you know what that means!" "Oooo, Bush did drugs, you know what that means!"

Those are only issues for the left because they demonize the right as uptight, intolerant bigots. Since that generalization is patently false they MUST tell lies and create innuendo. If not their entire belief system crashes.

Since few people, right or left, are so clear-headed they can overcome their belief system by rational thinking alone, expect more of the same.

I'm just as guilty: I STILL think Bill Clinton is an arrogant, sex-obsessed bubble-head, though I have come to admire Hillary as a person (while still disagreeing with nearly every policy she's ever supported).

I can't see many on the left changing their minds though. Can you imagine? "You know, when you really look at his record, Bush accomplished quite a lot." Just reading that will send most of them into apoplectic fits. :)

Bush did drugs?!?

Which ones? When?

Snark, since you apparently missed or dis-missed my point you'll forgive me for not having a clue what you're getting at.
