And Republicans Helped This Guy?

The comments of former Republican and senator Lincoln Chafee are no surprise.
I never understood why the Republican party put so much on trying to get this ingrate reelected in the first place.
Even in a liberal a state like Rhode Island, former Republican and senator Chafee could not win. Mr. Chafee's record was far to the left of the Republican center and well in the left on the Democrat center.
I never had doubts that Mr. Chafee would have switched parties if he had won reelection.
What a waste of time and money on the Republicans part.

Actually, Lincoln Chaffee was one of three repub senators who toyed with the notion of switching parties (they don't cross the aisle in the senate - everybody sits together) in the first Bush term.

The second was Jim Jeffords of Vermont, who did make the switch and caucused with the dems, until he retired and was replaced by Bernie Sanders,

The third was your latest heartthrob, McP.O.W.

But in the end, he decided to cast his lot with the fundie nutjobs. And the rest, they say, is history unfolding before our eyes.

Ron, but Mr. Snarkle is amusing. He is a lot like most members of my family. Except he is not as annoying if you can believe that! And agreed, Lincoln Chafee IS an ass!
