Yesterday, I posted on a new DDBMSOWM meme that the McCain/Palin campaign is stoking anger by their supporters.
Some of it is over the top.
But, the anger is and never will be the same as the George W. Bush hatred that permeates on the left.
Michelle Malkin walks us down a very troubling road of many people and whole organizations that have a very, very bad case of Bush Derangement Syndrome, or BDS.
No doubt, many of these people are on the fringes of the left. But, there are some that are very mainstream.
How about the singer, Madonna? She gave a crowd at one of her concerts a taste of BDS. Hey, maybe there were some Republicans and, HORRORS!, people who still support the president. No matter. Must get the Bush-bashing in ASAP!
Or there is washed-up "comedienne" Sandra Bernard on a Bush-hating rant.
These are just two examples of mainstream people caught in Bush hate.
in this column of Mrs. Malkin's, there are many new ones and some I had forgotten about.
So, when people like The New York Times' Maureen Dowd or Frank Rich take us down a road of a presidential campaign supposedly stoking hatred, remind these folks who started it in the first place.
It was the fringe left that has utter contempt for President Bush and wished many worse things on a consistent basis than a few frustrated conservatives giving the Republican presidential nominee, Sen. John "F--- You" McCain a kick in the rear to get him to fight for the presidency.

They Just Don't Get It
Suddenly, the Dinosaur, Drive-By, Mainstream, Obama-Worshiping Media has found an angry mob.
And it is on the right!
Yes, it are some people who are very much conservatives and very concerned over the direction of the United States.
But once again, some oracles from the mother ship, the Old Gray Lady, aka The New York Times, are alerting the frightened masses of the hostility of many a conservative that are attending McCain/Palin rallies across the United States.
Take this from The New York Times oracle number one, Frank Rich.
Mr. Rich starts off his rant about the biggest fear when the Barack Obama campaign started was that a "crazy person might take a shot at him". I guess that is not incendiary since it comes from the left. It is just projection, after all. But the following paragraph makes me laugh. Really. Look at this:
Until now. At McCain-Palin rallies, the raucous and insistent cries of “Treason!” and “Terrorist!” and “Kill him!” and “Off with his head!” as well as the uninhibited slinging of racial epithets, are actually something new in a campaign that has seen almost every conceivable twist. They are alarms. Doing nothing is not an option.
Really?! Has Mr. Rich ever seen the venom of the left directed at President Bush? Vice-President Cheney? Former defense secretary Dick Rumsfeld? Hell, any member and or supporter of the Bush administration? Apparently not. Otherwise, he would realize that the left has had its stingers in for President Bush, hm, since January 20, 2001. And it has not been pretty at all.
And Mr. Rich reminds all of us that Sen. "F--- You" McCain was not really into all of this frenzy as noted in the same column
It wasn’t always thus with McCain. In February he loudly disassociated himself from a speaker who brayed “Barack Hussein Obama” when introducing him at a rally in Ohio.
Well, one could make the argument that Sen. "F--- You" McCain should not have done that. Maybe had he just let the comment go, it would have been nothing than a DDBMSOWM creation that it really was.
But the thrust of the diatribe of Mr. Rich is that it is all about race. From the full name of the Democrat nominee for president, Barack Husein Obama, to saying that Sen. "F--- You" McCain running mate, Alaska governor, Sarah Palin, has no clue when she says her home state is a microcosm of America. Because there are not a lot of blacks and or Hispanics. Gee, I guess Eskimos and Native Americans do not count as minorities in Mr. Rich's world. Oh, and when a small state governor, former Vermont governor Howard Dean ran for president in 2004, one assumed that Vermont was a microcosm of the United States, right Mr. Rich? News flash, Mr. Rich. Vermont has less blacks and Hispanics than Alaska. But, dammit, don't let facts get in the way of sliming the McCain/Palin ticket. Because of their supporters maybe getting a little frustrated.
And then there is the queen of verbose, Maureen Dowd. Her latest rant gives us a little Latin.
Her little ditty starts off that we are in a decline of modernity. And it deteriorates from there. It goes on to piggyback on the rant of Rich. That it is the McCain/Palin ticket that is riling up these crowds and the like.
Here is a view from out here. In Blue as Blue California. I know, Miss Dowd and Mr. Rich, you do not think that there are people who are conservative such as myself. But we are here. And I will try to explain to you why there is a sense of frustration and yes, even hostility, on display at some of these campaign rallies.
While you two and most of your DDBMSOWM crowd have done nothing to accurately "vet" the Democrat nominee for president, Sen. Messiah Barack Obama, and have all but carried water for him, it gets really hard to take. Most of you and your ilk within 48 hours of Sen. "F--- You" McCain asking Gov. Palin to be his running mate, were digging into every, and I mean every aspect of Gov. Palin. Not limited to her as governor. But as to whether or not her fifth child, Trig, was even hers at all. We all know more about Gov. Palin than it appears we ever will about Sen. Messiah Barack.
How about your Mother Ship, the Gray Old Lady and the hit job on Sen. "F--- You" McCain after he secured enough delegates to become the Republican standard bearer? You know, the one in which you implied that Sen. "F--- You" McCain may have had relations with an attractive, young lobbyist? Oh, there was no proof but a helluva lot of innuendo. What used to be in the back pages of the National Enquirer appeared on the front page of your beloved newspaper. Oh, may I remind you that when there was a real story about former Democrat presidential candidate John Edwards not only having an affair but a love-child from said affair, that did not seem to make the front page of your newspaper until there was enough "proof".
A personal frustration of mine has been spending the past eight years having to defend the Bush administration against some of the most scurrilous charges that have made the front pages of most newspapers, the top stories on the three television networks, and everywhere else that people get information from in the United States. The worst has been the fringe theory that the 9/11 terrorist attacks were nothing more than an evil plot cooked up by the Bush administration.
Oh, but it goes on.
I see more "impeach Bush" bumper stickers around than I care to count. I have been to many a mainstream event in which among the anti-Bush crowd are so-called 9/11 "truthers" trying to peddle their garbage. Why, there is even a name for it. Bush Derangement Syndrome or BDS.
But, all that is A-OK in the world of The New York Times, and Maureen Dowd and Frank Rich.
A very few people at several McCain/Palin rallies let their emotions and frustrations get the best of them and WHOA Nellie! !
No, get out with all the people a little more Miss Dowd and Mr. Rich. We really are not all that bad. We have valid and important points of view. But when we are not taken seriously, we get frustrated. And sometimes it shows in ways that I admit are not great.
But, it is nothing compared to the eight long years of BDS.
And it is on the right!

Some Sane Analysis Of The Current Economic Situation
In light of the worst drop in the history of the New York Stock Exchange, Larry Kudlow offers some history and sage wisdom.
Essentially, Mr. Kudlow explains that these economic downturns happen roughly about every 20 years.
In fact, Mr. Kudlow give a little history lesson that the first treasury secretary, Alexander Hamilton, had to engineer a bank bailout/rescue in 1792. And, Mr Kudlow points out that out of that came a regular money-supply system, a credible government debt system, and a more disciplined banking system.
A lot of this does bring back the 1987 stock market dive. In retrospect, it does not seem all that bad because the stock exchange value was nothing like it is now. The Dow Jones industrial averages were in the 2,000s. On the infamous Black Monday, October 19, 1987, the DJIA dropped 508 points or 22% of value. Even the day that the market lost 778 points, it was only seven percent of value. In other words, because the average is high, the point loss are seemingly huge. But, the percentage is not.
It is not to downplay the obvious terrible numbers. But it is to put it in perspective. And if it is all in perspective, then we as a nation will get through this situation. Like so many situations of this nature, it is a crisis of confidence. Now, more than ever, we need to regain our confidence in the economy.

"Troopergate" Explained. . .In Only 263 Pages!
Well now the world can rest easy as the Alaskan Legislative Council released it vaunted report on whether or not Gov. Sarah Palin abused her power by firing the Alsaska director of public safety, Walt Monegan.
It had been alleged that Mr. Monegan was fired for allegedly refusing to fire a state trooper that turned out to be a former husband of Gov. Palin's sister who was embroiled in a very, very bitter divorce.
Well, here are the major findings that come out of the 263 page tome:
1) For the reasons explained in section IV of this report, I find that Governor Sarah Palin abused her power by violating Alaska Statute 39.52.110(a) of the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act. Alaska Statute 39.52.110(a) provides
The legislature reaffirms that each public officer holds office as a public trust, and any effort to benefit a personal or financial interest through official action is a violation of that trust."
2) I find that, although Walt Monegan's refusal to fire Trooper Michael Wooten was not the sole reason he was fired by Governor Sarah Palin, it was likely a contributing factor to his termination as Commissioner of Public Safety. In spite of that, Governor Palin's firing of Commissioner Monegan was a proper and lawful exercise of her constitutional and statutory authority to hire and fire executive branch department heads.
OK, I am missing something?
It appears that the two paragraphs contradict one another. Because it does.
On the one hand, investigator Steve Branchflower, writes that Gov. Palin abused her power in relation to two sections of the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act.
Then it appears to exonerate Gov Palin by citing the thrust of the investigation, whether or nor Mr. Monegan was fired for refusing to fire state trooper Michael Wooten. It says so right there.
So, a strong supporter of the Democrat presidential nominee, Sen. Messiah Barack Obama gets everyone all riled up by saying there will be an "October surprise" that would be damaging not only to the governor but by extension Republican presidential nominee, Sen. John "F--- You" McCain. All state senator Hollis French could do is get this mish-mash of a report that essentially says two different things. And in the end, it exonerates Gov. Palin.
Of course the DDBMSOWM is misreporting this by emphasizing the section in which Mr. Branchflower says that Gov. Palin abused her power. Never mind that the report essentially is a big fat nothing.
And to show that this was not the big "October surprise" that Sen. French had promised, the report was released much earlier than the October 31 date-yes Halloween-that he wanted.
If this gets more coverage than the clear contradictions that Sen. Messiah Barack is being caught in trying to explain his relationship with American terrorist William Ayres, it is all we need to know about the total bias of the DDBMSOWM.

The Washington Times Report On Obama's Attempt To Sway Iraqis
Yesterday I posted that the Drudge Report had a screaming red headline that the Democrat presidential nominee, Sen. Messiah Barack Obama, was trying to sway Iraqi officials to force the Bush administration to seek congressional approval to keep American troops in Iraq.
According to the Washington Times, Sen. Messiah Barack went to Iraq two weeks after he all but clinched the Democrat party presidential nod and tried to persuade the Iraqi government to wait until there was a new administration in Washington. Presumably one led by Messiah Barack.
There appear to be two issues at work here.
One, the obvious, is whether a sitting United States senator acting on his or her own should be conducting contrary foreign policy to the sitting administration.
FTR, I do not care who is president. If it was not authorized by a sitting administration, then it is freelancing. And it is wrong. And it appears that this was clearly not approved by the Bush administration.
Secondary is whether a presidential candidate should be doing this kind of travelling in the middle of his or her campaign for president. I do not think that going on fact-finding trips is a bad thing. And, it was Sen. Messiah Barack's second trip to Iraq. So, on that score, it is not a real issue.
Back to the obvious.
It at the very least in bad taste to do what Sen. Messiah Barack did. Some of the justification is that Sen. Messiah Barack was doing his freelancing as a member of the senate Foreign Relations Committee.
So, I am not certain that this is going to be all that much of a big deal. It had already been reported by Amir Taheri in the New York Post about this meeting. And it did not get much traction.
What it does is show that campaigns need to understand its boundaries. In this case, Team Obama seemed to at worst overstep it's boundaries. But, it sets a dangerous precedent for whoever becomes the next president.

But, once again a state court divines a "right" and in another 4-3 decision, the Connecticut state supreme court ruled that same-sex marriage should be legal in that state.
Connecticut joins California and Massachusetts that have seen 4-3 supreme court decisions overturning traditional marriage and saying same-sex couples have a "right" to marry.
It is but just one of the issues that are bubbling up a lot of pent-up anger among a lot of Americans.
Can Republican presidential candidate Sen. John "F--- You" McCain harness this frustration to the White House? He better.
Note also that every single court ruling has been a 4-3 decision. There is clear division in the courts. And there is the same division in the rest of the United States.

I had linked many a reader to a post from National Review's Jim Geraghty that had some figures about the early voting in Ohio and how it was underwhelming.
Well, since Mr. Geraghty had to make a correction about it, I will link you to that.
Although the figures make it seem more favorable to the potential that more voters had voted than the original post indicated, I agree with Mr. Geraghty's analysis that it is still underwhelming.
I think Team Obama has to be careful to just assume that because things look bad for Team McCain due to the mess in the financial services sector, voters will flock to him and the Democrats.
The real worry, and it is for both the Democrat and Republican parties, is that this could be a ripe time for a strong push for an alternative political party.

Where Have All The Real American Men Gone?
A break from all our troubles and a question that I am certain is one on many an Americans mind.
Where have all the real American men gone?
I ask this because of this depressing article in The New York Post about the fact that many of the leading men on television shows this season are. . .imports!
Here is a growing problem. And while it is a bit tongue and cheek, it reveals something worrisome about the role of the traditional male in American society.
But, back to television and movies.

I think that one of the few real men on television today is the former Doogie Howser, Neil Patrick Harris. And, he's gay!
Mr. Rosenberg laments,

From Aussies Simon Baker and Anthony LaPaglia to Brits Hugh Laurie, Rufus Sewell, the American male on television is not American. The Lee Marvins, Robert Mitchums, William Holden, the Rat Pack guys, Davis, Lawford, Martin, Sinatra. They are but a memory.
Now, we have to look to Aussie Russell Crowe to define the American male. So sad.
We are, dare I write this, raising a generation of wussified men in the United States. (It is a family blog or I would use stronger language in place of wussified!)
Look at youth sports.
It is great to teach the sportsmanship because it is what makes the athelete. But, when there are many a little-league baseball teams that do not keep score and statistics, it is taking away the instinct to be better. It, in fact, takes away the sportsmanship because it makes all equal. What is the point?
And I am as sensitive as the next guy.
But, I do not need to be trained that way.
And yet, that is what we are doing to another generation of young boys.
Do we wonder why the misogynistic rap music is listened to by mostly young, white males? It is their release. But, it is a bad release.
We need to grow a generation of real men in this nation. What we need is a balanced approach, not extremism.
Soon, being a real man is a job that American men will not do.
Where have all the real American men gone?
I ask this because of this depressing article in The New York Post about the fact that many of the leading men on television shows this season are. . .imports!
Here is a growing problem. And while it is a bit tongue and cheek, it reveals something worrisome about the role of the traditional male in American society.
But, back to television and movies.

I have wondered how the latest Gallup daily tracking poll has the Democrat presidential nominee, Sen. Messiah Barack Obama, an 11-point lead over the Republican presidential nominee. Sen. John "F--- You" McCain.
Now I know.
Thanks to blogger WLS over at Patterico's Pontifications, we know that Gallup is using registered voters rather than likely voters.
The question is why?
Because registered voters always favor Democrats. Likely voters generally favor Republicans.
There are seven polls that are using the likely voter scenario. They all show Sen. Messiah Barack in the lead from as little as three percent to as much as eight percent. That averages out to Obama +5. Almost within the margin of error.
Three polls are using the registered voter scenario. They also all show Sen. Messiah Barack in the lead by as little as six percent up to the 11%. And that averages out to Obama +8. And no doubt that is outside the margin of error.
One thing of great importance no matter where any one stands on the election. Polling should be done at this point using only likely voters. Not because it favors Republicans, but because it is less than a month before the election. Likely voters are, likely. Registered voters are notorious for having lower turnout rates. Which is why they tend to not be all that correct.
If you favor Sen. Messiah Barack, both scenarios are good for him. But, the likely voter polls have been tightening. So, he needs to have the most accurate polling to know where he needs to spend resources. Same for Sen. "F--- You" McCain. If the McCain camp goes by registered voter polls, it looks bleak. But, one thing is certain. It is not all that bleak for Sen. "F--- You" McCain nor a runaway for Sen. Messiah Barack.

Bottom line, folks.
Team McCain still has a chance and the so-called negative advertising may lead the way. Like it or not. Team Obama can not rest on it's lead. And it may happen. Remember how Sen. Messiah Barack cruised at the end of the Democrat primary season? Sen. St. Hillary Clinton almost pulled off the Democrat nomination.
Watch the polls and how they are reported throughout all media outlets.

Blogger Dean Barnett, late blogger for the Weekly Standard blog and substitute host for radio talker Hugh Hewitt is in the ICU unit of a hospital back East. It is due to complications from his life-long battle with cystic fibrosis.
It is very poignant for me as Mrs. rightviewfromtheleftcoast and I lost a dear friend last night in his battle with the disease. Our friend was the oldest living recipient of a double lung transplant that gave him 10 more years on God's Green Earth. But, all the medication he was taking destroyed his kidneys and thus while waiting for a kidney donor match, our friend could not wait any longer and is now with the Angels.
So, say a prayer and hope that Dean is back blogging away and subbing for Hugh very, very soon.

Some Interesting Information On The Ohio Early Voting
Many of us have been worried that the unchecked early voting in Ohio, a swing state, would be a treasure trove of votes for the Democrat presidential nominee, Sen. Messiah Barack Obama.
But, according to Jim Gereghty, the effort to ramp up the early voting may have been a dud.
According to Mr. Gereghty, only 28,466 took advantage of this early voting and or same day registration and voting.
The vaunted efforts of Team Obama may be a lot like the way he finished the Democrat primary/caucus season against New York Sen. St. Hillary Clinton. And, that was rather ugly.
Sen. St. Hillary won major primaries in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, and let us not forget Michigan and Florida. And also, right after Sen. Messiah Barack won the Iowa caucus, he seemingly was hard to beat in New Hampshire. And look who reared her ugly head from the dead? Why, Sen. St. Hillary of course.
Even now, as it appears that Sen. Messiah Barack is faining in many a battleground state, I would not be overly confident in these polls staying that way. For whatever reason, somehow, Sen. Messiah Barack has had a lot of trouble closing the sale, so to speak. And that may happen here.
Read the Geraghty piece. It is very interesting. And should be a bit unsettling for the Team Obama supporters.

Can Obama Fraud His Way To The White House?
Well, well, well !!! What a tangled web we weave when we try to deceive!
It appears that the Democrat presidential nominee, Sen. Messiah Barack Obama's favorite community organizing group is embroiled in voter fraud investigations in as many as 10 states.
Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or ACORN, is the leading group in registering new voters across the United States. In and of itself, no problem, right?
Well, the closest case to California being investigated is in Las Vegas, Nevada as ACORN is accused as going so far as fraudulently using the names of the starting lineup of the Dallas Cowboy's football team.
This quote from the Nevada Secretary of State makes me laugh, slightly:
"Some of these (forms) were facially fraudulent; we basically had the starting lineup for the Dallas Cowboys," Secretary of State Ross Miller said. "Tony Romo is not registered to vote in Nevada. Anyone trying to pose as Terrell Owens won't be able to cast a ballot."
For the record, in the Las Vegas investigation, the secretary of state and the state attorney general, Catherine Cortez Masto, are both Democrats.
This is just one of many investigations and or scrutiny on this ACORN group and its questionable voter registration practices.
There are investigations going on in Missouri, Ohio, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Michigan, and New Mexico.
What is the trend here?
These are all so-called "swing" states that can go either way in this Death March of an election campaign.
According to Fox News, ACORN has registered 1,300,000 for the upcoming presidential election.
But look at this.
If so many are potentially fraudulent, how many are legitimate? If the fraudulent ones can be weeded out before election day, will it help either candidate?
I am afraid that we will have to wait until election day to find out.

ICELAND Banks On The Ropes?
In this article from the Times of London, it appears that no nation is safe from the meltdown in the financial services sector.
It appears that Icelandic banks went into investing overseas and it was much more than the small island nation's entire gross domestic product. And worse, because the Icelandic government has had to rescue one bank and is trying to do the same to another, it appears that Iceland may go bankrupt.
And this is the amazing part of the story:
In a surprise move, this morning the Icelandic central bank announced that it hoped to arrange a €4 billion loan from Russia to stave off financial meltdown. Officials will travel to Moscow tomorrow for talks.
Russia is now possibly going to help stave off bankrupcy in Iceland.
This is a real mess and one thing that Sen. "F--- You" McCain pointed out in tonight's "debate" is that energy independence is a vital national security issue.
The fact that some American money ends up as petro dollars and in the Russian treasury is bad enough. But, no doubt, some of that money will go to help Iceland stave off bankrupcy.
This is really astonishing.
If tiny Iceland may go belly up, what is to say that a much larger nation may not have the same fate?

Debate Round Two-Z Z Z Z Z Z Z Z Z! ! ! ! ! !
I was hoping that tonight's "town hall" style debate would be better than the first debate between Sen. John "F--- You" McCain and Sen. Messiah Barack Obama.
Unbelievably, it was worse and even in this, Sen. "F--- You" McCain managed a very marginal win. Only because it is his more natural setting. But, the way it was run made it really impossible for both candidates to do anything that could articulate something that neither one has not said before.
The problem is that there is the group that sounds so important. The Commission on Presidential Debates.
This commission works with both campaigns to set up how many debates there will be, where and type of debate. Also, the commission provides the moderators. In and of itself, it sounds reasonable.
But, the problem is the Commission on Presidential Debates itself.
IT IS RAN BY FOSSILS! IT CHOOSES FOSSILS TO BE "MODERATORS"! AND IT CHOOSES BAD FORMATTING!

Two fossil Republicans that stick out are two former senators. John Danforth and Alan Simpson. These are two of the most inside the beltway types one can imagine.
Again, that is the problem.
The leadership of this commission needs to be changed.
The need is there to have the new media have a way to steer these debates. And, there are really good people on both sides that can do a better job. They can use the internet not to promote canned questions, but some that can actually make the candidates have to get off their talking points and answer. And that is for both candidates.
That is what was missing tonight.
Because tonight's moderator, Tom Brokaw, is fossil media, the kind of questions that he ended up choosing were yawners. Most have already been asked in two previous debates. And the one at the end about what either Sen. "F--- You" McCain or Sen. Messiah Barack did not know landed like a turd.
Get this.
According to sources, there were over SIX MILLION questions that were asked over the internet. That is 6,000,000 questions. So, of course Mr. Brokaw picks one from another fossil-a 78 year old one-about "sacrifice". I was ready for a sacrifice!
So, there were no questions about anything but the economy. No questions about the candidates picks for judges. No questions about where they stand on same-sex marriage. No questions about the candidates stand on abortion on demand. No questions about what either candidate thinks of the proper role of government is in the everyday lives of Americans. No questions that asked either candidate about whether or not the war we are in is even against Islamofacism.
And that is because the "moderator" chose all the questions he wanted to ask. And because Mr. Brokaw is a fossil of media, he had no idea to choose a wide variety of questions.
Here is a clue.
We already know both candidates talking points. We hear them day in and day out. If Mr. Brokaw got of Manhattan and or the tony salons of Washington, D. C., he may get a clue that there are a whole host of issues that Americans have not heard about from either candidate. And, do not hold your breath that anything will change in the next debate. That is going to be "moderated" by CBS news Bob Schieffer. Another old media fossil.
I am very hopeful that this Commission on Presidential Debates can replace their "leadership" and usher in some 21st century leadership. It is really needed.

This is a short buy sweet little "cheat sheet" if you will for the Republican presidential nominee, Sen. John "F--- You" McCain courtesy of David Gerlanter in the Weekly Standard.
It is one of the multiple, but disciplined ways that Sen. "F--- You" McCain has to hit at the Democrat presidential nominee, Sen. Messiah Barack Obama.
It was wonderful to see Sen. "F--- You" McCain go on offense today.
Today in a campaign rally in New Mexico, Sen. "F--- You" McCain called Sen. Messiah Barack a liar in regards to Sen. "F--- You" McCain trying to tighten regulations of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. And, Sen. "F--- You" McCain is right. Sen. Messiah Barack is lying when he says
that Sen. "F--- You" McCain did not meet a regulation that he liked.
As an aside, beyond wanting more regulation in regard to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, we know that Sen. "F--- You" McCain has no problem regulating freedom of speech with the moronic "campaign finance reform".
Back on point.
And, did you see Republican vice-presidential nominee Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin over the weekend and today?
Gov. Palin took off the gloves and slammed Sen. Messiah Barack over his ties to unrepentant terrorist William Ayres and wife Bernadine Dohrn. And, Gov. Palin even dared to go after Sen. Messiah Barack's relationship with the "Rev." Jeremiah Wright.
And, all this comes on the heels of a CBS News poll that shows the race tightening and even closer where likely voters are concerned. Among registered voters, Sen. Messiah Barack leads 47%-43%. But, among likely voters, the numbers narrow and Sen. Messiah Barack leads Sen. "F--- You" McCain, 48%-45%. And that is within the margin of error.
So, I think that the discipline is getting back to Johnny Mac and company and taking a little advice such as that of Mr. Gerlenter is only going to help close the gap and to a possible, no probable, Team McCain victory.

Some Questions, Some Advice And Something Positive
I have been reading a lot all over the place about the state of the presidential race. And, lets be honest. At this point, it looks very good for the Democrat presidential nominee, Sen. Messiah Barack Obama. Many polls nationally and in key states are breaking his way.
Now, with a month to go, it is not time for conservatives and Republicans to be buying the propaganda in the Dinosaur, Drive-By, Mainstream, Obama-Worshiping Media. We know their narrative. They want Sen. Messiah Barack in the White House. In desperation, even the Obama Press, aka the Associated Press is pushing the every criticism of Sen. Messiah Barack is racism line.
But, as I note, there is one month left and in this advanced information age, this election is nowhere near over.
So, here is what I would like to share with you from some great conservatives around the net. Jim Geraghty at The Campaign Spot on National Review Online asks the fundamental question. Does Sen. John, "F--- You" McCain want to be president? FTR, I believe that it is without a doubt Sen. "F--- You" McCain wants to be the next president. Back to Mr. Geraghty. Mr. Geraghty is pointing out that Sen. "F--- You" McCain can not let his running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, be the only attack dog. He has to come out and explain why the current financial services fiasco is, a big partially, the fault of Democrats. And, he can not equivicate. Hit and hit hard. An aside. Sen. "F--- You" McCain can do that because he did that to the only Republican in the primary season to take him head on, Mitt Romney. So, I think because he does want to be president, look for Sen. "F--- You" McCain to start to take it right to Sen. Messiah's grill.
The advice comes from columnist Salena Zito. Miss Zito says in a Dear John (McCain) letter that it is time to be yourself. Stop letting the handlers have their way with you. Miss Zito uses one example that showed to many Americans Sen. "F--- You" McCain to show a steady hand and leadership. His reaction to the Russian invasion of Georgia. But, then Sen. "F--- You" McCain had a hairbrained scheme to suspend his campaign to offer to help the bailout/rescue fiasco. At first, I thought it did show leadership. And, it turned out to get the House Republicans involved. But, it was not enough. And, it ended up looking strange to many people. I agree with Miss Zito, go back to that sure leadership. It will help.
There are two positives offered in the Weekly Standard.
The first is from Stephen Hayes, giving a history lesson of the 1976 battle between incumbent Republican president Gerald R. Ford and Democrat upstart and former Georgia governor Jimmy Carter.
FTR, the United States was even more divided in 1976 than it is today.
The stench of the Watergate saga still hung like a skunk. The economy was in the midst of high inflation and stagnation. The United States also had a humiliating exit from South Vietnam the year before.
In came Mr. Carter. A one-term governor with little accomplishments or defeats to speak of. But, Mr. Carter tried the change mantra. It gave him a seemingly insurmountable lead that in the end, Mr. Ford closed within two percentage points.
For Sen. "F--- You" McCain, he is only down six percent on the Real Clear Politics poll average. So, he can make up much more than 33% in a month.

Then comes this uplift from the Weekly Standard Editor, William Kristol.
Mr. Kristol just lays out the case that this election has already taken at least a couple of twists and turns and there is room for more. And it lays out both the positive approach and the negative approach Team McCain is going to have to take as we are on the turn heading for home.
Bottom line is this.
Do not listen to all these polls. Do not listen to the DDBMSOWM types. Do not pay attention when some say that this campaign is over. Do get out and volunteer. Do get excited about McCain/Palin. We did not think that Sen. "F--- You" McCain had it in him to choose someone like Gov. Palin. But he did. And we owe to him to work for victory. Do remind those you are close to and even not so close to what an Obama/Biden administration can do to this Great Land.
In other words, keep up the fight!

Palin Packs The House!
The Republican vice-presidential nominee, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, made a campaign stop today here in the Bluest part of Southern California and packed the house at the Home Depot Center in Compton.
Sure, one would wonder why would Gov. Palin come here in a state that should be an easy one for the Democrat presidential ticket of Sen. Messiah Barack Obama and Sen. Blowhard Joe Biden. Especially after Team McCain decided to scale back in Michigan.
Two things come to mind.
One, money. Gov. Palin also is attending fundraisers in Orange County-the deep Red part of Southern California-and in Northern California. Even though it is more than likely that the Republican ticket will not win California, they need to wake up the Republican giant down the ticket. And, without a doubt, Gov. Palin's visit has done just that.
Secondly, Sen. McCain said that he would try to win in the West. The whole west. And, this is part of that strategy.
Does Team McCain have any chance in Oregon? Washington? And, really, California? Yes, yes and maybe yes.

Oregon is a good state that can flip to the McCain side. It has been reliably Democrat in recent elections, but growing suburbs around Portland and the exurbs do give Republicans some faint hope.
Washington is in the same situation. There is Seattle-Tacoma and the rest of Washington. And the rest of Washington is reliably Republican. The question is will the reliable Republican areas be enough to offset the Seattle-Tacoma Democrat machines? Quite possibly since here too, the Maverick image of Sen. John "F--- You" McCain can be to his advantage.
Now, I have been saying that California should not be taken advantage of by the Democrats and ignored by Republicans.
There is no question, Sen. Messiah Barack is going to win very handly in Los Angeles county. But, Sen. "F--- You" McCain should swamp Sen. Messiah Barack easily in Orange and Riverside counties. San Bernardino maybe tough, but they have a great local party chief that will make a huge GOTV effort. Ventura county will go for Sen. "F--- You" McCain. Then there is the spine of California. Basically, it is Interstate 5. It is the heart of Red California and it is full of medium size cities like Bakersfield, Fresno, Sacramento and Redding. Other than Sacramento county, it is very much Johnny Mac country. And of course there is the very liberal Bay Area. Forget about any attempt to get anywhere there. It appears that the liberal majority has a stranglehold that not even some one like Sen. "F--- You" McCain can overcome. It is where Sen. Messiah Barack will get a huge amount of the vote here in California.
And while California is reliably Democrat in recent elections, it has not gone over 55% of the vote for the Democrat candidates, former president, William Jefferson Blythe Clinton, twice, Al Bore, John Kerry.
So, there is a faint hope that this ticket can make a breakthrough.
And that is one of the reasons Gov. Palin made a trip to Blue California. And, she packed them in as you see in the pictures.
Dodgers Advance, Come On Angels!
Tonight the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Chicago Cubs, 3-1 and swept their end of the National League division series, three games to none.
It is really great because it is the first time since 1988 that the Dodgers have won any post-season series.
It was in 1988 that the Dodgers last won the World Series, defeating the Oakland A's, four games to one.
On the other hand, the Anaheim Angels* are down two games to none in their American league division series to the dreaded Boston Red Sox. And they have to win tomorrow night in Fenway Park to keep the series going, eventually to end up back in Anaheim.
I plead to God Almighty that he lets the Angels make a miracle comeback and get into the American League championship series! I want that Freeway Series to happen this year!
So, come on Angels! The Dodgers are keeping up their end of the bargain!
