Dems Mad At Losing Colorado Recall Vote

The Democrats at all levels are upset that two state senators in Colorado were recalled for their endorsement of a slew of gun control legislation.
What a shock!
But the reason that they are giving is sooooo rich.
Colorado Democrats were clearly already worried that they were losing so they started the meme that it was voter suppression.
Voter suppression?!
So how was that done?
Well because for one, a court decision made the elections ones where one had to actually show up to an actual voting booth.
OH MY!
How awful! Awful if people really cared about the vote, they would have to actually show the hell up to vote. That they could not in between sparking up a doobie* vote and if in the right frame of mind mail the ballot.
Not that there is any possibility of voter fraud, right?
Do read the other link for even the dim DNC chair, Congressman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, is trotting out the voter suppression meme.
It was a recall election. And the voters that cared would have got off their rumps and voted. Whether early voting or on the actual election day, they would.
A clue here.
No matter how easy and slippery voting can be made, the reality is that there is still a wide swath of people that will just not vote no matter what.
So Dems, stop with suggesting the reason two Democrat state senators in Colorado lost their recall elections is because of some mythical voter suppression.
The reason that they lost is because voters did not like their votes on gun control. Some state citizens got enough signatures, per the Colorado state constitution, to launch a recall election. And they won the recall.
Gee, maybe it is the policies that got them in trouble. Maybe THAT is the reason that they lost.

Gun Grabbing State Senators Recalled In Colorado

They thought that they could ram multiple gun control measures in Colorado and not face consequence, but last night two Democrat state senators paid the price as they were recalled and replaced by gun-rights Republicans.
State senator John Morse, the Democrat president of the state senate and state senator Angela Giron were recalled for forcing through a slew of gun control measures that were clear over reactions to the movie theatre masacare in Aurora and the masacare of children in Newtown, Connecticut.
Even a fellow Democrat state senator, Lois Tochtrop, warned that the measures were too much.
Here is what she said, prophetically.

"I feel like all these gun bills have done-to quote the last words in the movie Tora! Tora! Tora!-is to awaken a sleeping giant."

And of course she was correct.
And here is the carnage for each candidate.

Senate District 11, recall of John Morse
Yes	51%
No	49%

Senate District 3, recall of Angela Giron
Yes	56%
No	44%

And here is the scary part for Democrats.
State Sen. Giron was in a more Democrat district than Sen. Morse. And she lost by a wider margin. I think Sen. Morse had the fact that he was the senate president going for him and thus it was a closer race.
But no matter, these two defeats made the Democrat hold on the state senate a tenous one at a one-seat majority. All it takes is one flip of party to have a tie and one more to put it in Republican control.
I do not think that either will happen.
But what will happen is that more than likely the Democrats will lose the state senate outright at the polling booth. As well as the state House of Represenatatives. And probably the governor's mansion as current Gov. John Hickenlooper, the worst named governor in the United States, is dropping in the polls and Republicans are falling all over themselves to run against the governor.
Much of the gun legislation of the past year throughout the United States was a reaction to each other. Some states tightened already strict laws while others made it easier to obtain a gun. A classic Blue-Red divide.
But Colorado has a long libertarian sreak and that was what made many surprised how the legislature and governor, who was cautious in the early days of the Aurora move house masacare, went after guns with a vengeance.
After all, this is one of two states that the voters okayed the essential legalization of marijuana.
But the one Democrat that respects her voters is Sen. Tochtrot. She voted against five of seven gun-grabbing laws.
The left-wing of the Colorado Democrat party, not so much.
Again, they basically suspended all legitimate debate and rammed the bills through. It is what Dems do when they want something badly about at all levels of government.
And this is the result of that kind of governing.
When the GOP does take back the legislature and the governor's mansion, they will roll back if not rescind much of the laws. After all, they can't run a recall that proved to be sucessful and just let it be.
A lesson for the Republicans nationwide is to fight and fight hard to win elections. Because while this recall and rhe election of two Republicans feels good, it was because the people said enough is enough.
The sleeping giant, the people, are awakened.

Massacre In Colorado

Last evening at this time, there were a lot of people in a movie theatre in Aurora, Colorado watching the latest installment of the Batman trilogy, "The Dark Knight Rises," when a man went on a systematic murderous rampage that as of this writing killed 12 and wounded 58.
Before I continue, let me get something off my chest.
For those involved in this heinous act of violence, yes it is a tragedy. But the rest of us must look at what the accused gunman, 24 year-old James Holmes, as nothing but a criminal. Oh yes, probably it will come out a sociopath. But according to reports, Mr. Holmes is a damn smart one at that. But make no mistake. To start by referring to the event as a tragedy is to compare to a plane crash. Or an earthquake. Or a fire. Something that is unintentional, what we call in many cases an "Act of God". This Holmes fellow, he planned this crime. This is way to sophisticated to just be a case of someone just snapping one night. So please, this is a vicious crime and yes, it is evil. I will not refer to it as anything less.
One other thing is that reporting on these events has to not be sloppy and there should not be a damn agenda by so-called legacy media. Here, it is either referred to as the Leftywhore media.
Why am I upset?
Because of the "reporting" of Brian Ross of ABC news.
Mr. Ross went on the air with former Bill Clinton lackey George Stephanopolous to "report" that there is a James Holmes that is a member of a Colorado Tea Party group. Well, too bad that Mr. Ross was, to quote a fictional baseball announcer Harry Doyle from the movie Major League, "Just a little outside". In fact, waaay outside. The Mr. Holmes in question is a 52-year-old Hispanic man. And he is almost double the age of the actual suspect. Eventually ABC news was forced to issue a retraction.
And here is the statement from the ABC news website:

Editor's Note: An earlier ABC News broadcast report suggested that a Jim Holmes of a Colorado Tea Party organization might be the suspect, but that report was incorrect. ABC News and Brian Ross apologize for the mistake, and for disseminating that information before it was properly vetted.

And it should have never gone down that road to begin with.
What if James Holmes could have been tied with the so-called Occupy movement? Does anyone thing that Mr. Ross would have gone of television breathlessly saying that Mr. Holmes was active in the Occupy movement?
Or what if it was not a White guy named James Holmes but a Middle-Eastern looking dude, oh I don't know, how about Mohammed Habbib? And what if based on that little, he could have been tied to Islamofacsist terror? Again, would Mr. Ross gone on the air with that information, tenuous at best.
HELL FRICKIN NO! And no on both counts. Because we have to be careful when it comes to the Occupy movement and we can not assume that anyone could do such a crime that is of Middle-Eastern origin.
When is the Leftywhore, legacy media going to not speculate but report facts as they are known? If you do not know for a fact that a suspect is part of any group, why the hell go on the air with such speculation with not one iota of fact to back it up?
There. This part of a rant is over.
There are so many layers to this story that this will go on for quite a long time.
There is the event itself.
How did this dude, Holmes, enter the particular theatre from an emergency exit?
Why were there very, very young children at this midnight premiere in the first place? A four-month old baby? A six-year old? What the hell kind of parents are this selfish that they would drag babies and very little kids to a midnight movie show?
Two aspects of the first-responders, the Aurora police.
One, the bravery that they took to quickly ascertain the situation and not wait for medical first responders. Many police officers gathered the wounded and took them to area hospitals. Who knows how many lives were saved because the police acted the way they did?
The second is the professional way that they showed absolute restraint in letting Mr. Holmes surrender to them.
What I am about to write maybe controversial, but it is what I am feeling about people that commit these evil acts and eventually get a stage to spout off their "reasons" for doing the act.
I do not think the overwhelming majority of Americans would have been upset if the police simply shot and killed Mr. Holmes right then and there. They could have said that he threatened them. Something. The only people that probably would be upset are the usual suspects. The ACLU crowd and some bloggers that value the life of scum over those that they kill for no reason.
I can only ask you to look at the case of the Norwegian mass murderer, Anders Brevik. Since Norway has nothing in their criminal code for his act of terrorism, he may be confined to a mental institution for a grand total of 21 years. Now, more than likely he will be confined longer than the 21 year max because his freedom will be based on his ability to prove that he is not nuts. But I would not be all that surprised if he did get out in less than 21 years.
Another layer is how social media was used by the victims as they were evacuating the movie house. I for one would not be thinking do that, but some did. It gave a birds-eye view of terrorism.
And as always the outpouring of righteous grief and support to the victims, their families and the community that is Aurora, Colorado.
Both President Obama and the Republican presumptive presidential nominee, Mitt Romney gave excellent remarks about the tragedy. And hey, on this no one better dump on President Obama for having a moment thinking about his own daughters, Malia and Sasha, and if they were in something horrific like that. He is a good dad and husband. Both men spoke from the heart. And that is what I want in situations like this. Though I pretty much loathe politicos giving comments in such situations, if they have to, both men did a great job.
There is a lot of time for the investigations, the obvious finger-pointing, the calls for gun control, the whole politics of this massacre. But for now, we must let these people bury their dead and the community of Aurora, Colorado grieve and begin the process of getting their shattered lives back together as much as possible.

Santorum Three For Three Tonight!

In a possible real turning point to the Republican presidential nomination Death March, former Pennsylvania senator Rick Santorum scored a clean sweep of three contests in Colorado, Minnesota and Missouri tonight.
In Colorado and Minnesota it was caucus night and Mr. Santorum won in Colorado with about 40% of the caucus vote. In Minnesota Mr. Santorum scored 47% of the caucus vote.
But the big result is the primary in Missouri where Mr. Santorum got 55% of the vote.
The reason that Missouri is a big deal is the fact that Mr. Santorum won every single county in the state. No one else did. Not Mitt Romney. Not Ron Paul. And certainly not Newt Gingrich, who was not on the ballot here.
Now, you will hear that there were no delegates chosen in any of the three races.
That is true. But the results should give the eventual delegates to Mr. Santorum.
It would not be cool to have these contests and at a later date choose delegates at state and or county conventions that the voters did not favor.
Several things come out of tonight's votes.
One, Mr. Santorum is now the last conservative standing. Newt Gingrich is fading like the Hindenburg did over Lakehurst, New Jersey in 1937.
Two, for all the talk of the Ron Paul campaign being masters of the caucus process, my question is this.
Wha happen?!
Second place or third is not a sign of great organization as far as I can tell.
Three, now the Leftywhore media will start having to take Mr. Santorum seriously. He has won in four states. Mr. Gingrich, the Leftywhore and even some conservative media favorite has only won in one state. South Carolina.
Four, Mitt Romney needs to desperately step it up if he is going to be the eventual Republican presidential nominee.
What tonight proves is that in this election season, nothing is absolute on the Republican side. And that while this race started with a lot of candidates, the last three, and yeah, Crazy Uncle Ron Paul, are he most serious ones.
Saturday is the caucus in Maine. Mr. Romney should win there. But again, if tonight is any indication, Mr. Santorum could provide some fireworks.
Now, I do not hear it, but maybe Mr. Santorum should tell Mr. Gingrich to get out of the race and not to stand in the way of the clear conservative alternative. But, unlike the classless Mr. Gingrich, I do not think that you will hear this from Mr. Santorum.
We are now down to two men who are the serious fighters for the Republican presidential nomination.
They are Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum.
And tonight's results put Mr. Santorum in the game for sure and maybe for keeps.
