Oh no, really the tattoo culture I have written about here and a variation of here has gone to the dogs.
If you don't believe me, meet Zion from New York City.
If you think that your eyes deceive you, they do not.
Poor Zion has a tattoo on his right front leg.
That is courtesy of a certifiable douchebrain "Mistah Metro" who according to this article is also known as Alex and also known as Orangutan Joe.
First, this dude needs to get his damn name straight.
While I commented about this clear case of animal abuse on my Facebook page, a friend of mine thought it was no big deal.
So this is a part of why I think that this was not only animal abuse but something that can extend to children and even babies.
Of course I find it abhorrent that someone would not just do this, but do this while the poor dog was sedated for the removal of it's spleen.
What the hell is up with a veterinarian to let this whatever his name is tatt his dog up while he has already endured a serious operation?
According to the article, that is indeed what happened.
But apparently tatting an animal after an operation is done. But according to an unidentified spokesman for the local ASPCA, it is minimal and simply an identifier.
“It helps animal-welfare professionals clearly identify animals that have been altered . . . The incident in question is not at all comparable. ”
No kidding it is not comparable.
As I point out in my Facebook thread, it is one thing for human beings with the capacity to understand to decide whether or not to get a tatt. But a dog or any other animal, they do not have a choice.
Oh, I know, someone will ask about branding cattle.
Again, that is not for some kind of sick pleasure but to identify cattle for the purposes of the possibility of getting off the land, stolen or anything of that nature. It is not for being cool.
And whatever his name is believes that his dog is now sooo cool.
Here is what the douchebrain wrote on his now deleted Instagram account:
“My dog is cooler than yours!”
If you define being cool as being tatted against his will, sure. But he is not cool because of your own way over sized ego.
If you thought it was something so cool, why didn't you tatt him up when he was not under anesthesia and just had a serious operation?
And why, pray tel, if you are not proud did you delete all of your social media sites? Huh? We who find this disgusting want to know the answers.
Oh, I just thought of another question.
What does Mel, your wife, think of this?
I alluded to the possibility of parents deciding one day, hey lets tatt our baby. Do you not think it will not happen? If it has not happened already?
I sure do.
People that do not think this have their heads buried very, very deep in the sand.
One of the problems I have with tatt fiends is that they get their body full of tatts. They fill them up so much that in many cases they run out of room for anymore. It is odd to see someone walking from a distance and they look like they are wearing a long-sleeved shirt. Get a little closer and it is not a long sleeve shirt but two arms full of tatts.
What I suspect is that whats his name looks pretty much like that. Probably Mel, the wife, too. So they probably look at their dog as some kind of accessory rather than a best companion/friend. And that is the problem. No doubt in my mind is that they would look at a child in the same way.
I do believe that whats his name needs to be prosecuted but so should the vet that allowed it to happen. It is animal abuse and can not be tolerated.
The sad reality is that tattoo culture has gone to the dogs.

Is This Presidential Election Going To The Dogs?
It is amazing that as the United States appears to be at a tipping point economically, socially and our standing as the world's last superpower, this presidential election is becoming one about. . .dogs.
It started when Team Dear Leader, President Obama continued to attack Mitt Romney over an event that happened 29 years ago.
That event is Seamusgate as it is now being called.
That was when the family Romney took a driving trip from Belmont, Massachusetts to a family cottage in the Canadian province of Ontario.
The drive was 12 hours.
The family at this point was full. Mr. Romney, wife Ann and all five of the boys for a total of seven people.
But there is the family dog, Seamus the Irish Setter.
And the family car was a Chevy Caprice station wagon.
Below is a photo of Seamus. Pretty big dog, eh?!

And below that is what the Chevy Caprice station wagon looked like in 1983.
OK, so even though it is a small photo of the car, it barely had room for the people.
So, what to do about Seamus if he is going to join the family?
Easy.
Have a kennel, put it on top of the car and voila! Seamus can join the family.
Well, if you read the link, it did not go all that well.
Seamus, to be kind, got car sick and beautiful stream of diarrhea streamed from the roof down the car windows.
Now, it probably was not the best thing in retrospect to do. But hey, the family all wanted to be on vacation together.
And Seamus, he was family.
Needless to say, the animal "rights" crowd went ballistic over this tale.
And Team Dear Leader, President Obama, took advantage of this situation.
Top political operative David Axelrod tweeted a photo of the Dear Leader, President Obama, with the First Dog, Bo, in the presidential limo with the Dear Leader, President Obama.
The comment?
"How loving owners transport their dogs."
Oops! Team Obama bad!
Too bad that they forgot a little anecdote in the pre-presidential tome written by then Barack Obama, "Dreams From My Father".
Thanks to the doggedly intrepid work of the Daily Caller's Jim Treacher, we have this direct from the best-selling book:
“With Lolo, I learned how to eat small green chill peppers raw with dinner (plenty of rice), and, away from the dinner table, I was introduced to dog meat (tough), snake meat (tougher), and roasted grasshopper (crunchy). Like many Indonesians, Lolo followed a brand of Islam that could make room for the remnants of more ancient animist and Hindu faiths. He explained that a man took on the powers of whatever he ate: One day soon, he promised, he would bring home a piece of tiger meat for us to share.”
YIKES!
It appears that young Barack was eating his way through the animal kingdom while in Indonesia.
Snake, check.
Grasshopper, check.
D o g, check!
And at one point, young Master Obama's stepfather, Lolo Soetoro, even promised tiger meat.
I wonder if Lolo knew Charlie Sheen at any point?!
So, our Dear Leader, President Obama, is. . a. . .dog eater!
In the young gals modern vernacular, EEEEEUUUUUWWWWW!!!!!
Now Team Obama is fighting back by suggesting that Team Romney is picking on a then-10-year-old Obama who was in a foreign land and surely under some kind of pressure to adapt to his new family.
OK, I think that by 10 years old, even in a foreign land and knowing that dogs, well they are more man's best friend rather than whats for dinner.
Young Master Obama could have simply and politely declined the delicacy.
But he did not. And he wrote it in his own words.
Now we do not have a photo as to what kind of dog then Master Obama ate. But it kind of makes this photo a little scary*.
Once again.
EEEEEUUUUUWWWWW!!!!!
Now there is a lot to make fun about for both dudes.
One problem is that both did what they did when they were younger and less unacceptable as it is now.
I remember many times riding in the back of an open pickup truck as a kid. I'm still here. And ir sure was not unusual to see dogs doing the same thing then.
As far as eating dog, in many lands it was and still is a delicacy as noted.
So in a way, yeah, I am defending both for doing what was OK seemingly now way back when.
Oh but that does not mean we can not have a little fun with this.
While we are having fun with Doggate, we must remember this.
The upcoming election is about very serious issues from the economy to whether or not the United States will continue to even be a superpower.
Because if we get it wrong, this nation as we know it will go to the dogs.
So, I will vote for the dude that put the dog on top of the car rather than the roof of his mouth!

Want Another Reason California Is So Screwed Up?
Well, probably not. But I have to offer you the latest installment of the never-ending series on why the once Golden State is ready to go off the cliff.
Thanks to my pal An Unmarried Man, I was treated to this story that is, well bizarre seems to be too tame.
So, this dude Robert Edward De Shields, a frequent guest of the county and state prison system, committed an act that is beyond unthinkable.
Yes, Mr. De Shields committed the act of bestiality. He had sex with a dog. Not any kind of dog, mind you. But a puny chihuahua.
But hey, I guess when you are tweaking on crystal meth, a chihuahua looks like any other kind of hottie, right?
Yep, Mr. De Shields was high on meth and raped a chihuahua.
Needless to say, it was not his dog. Thank God. But horrified homeowners came home to find the tweaker, Mr. De Shields, holding the terrified dog. And after being examined by a vet, it was determined that the dog had severe injuries to his rectum and internal organs.
Now insert a big, fat eeeeeeeeeeuuuuuuuuuuwwwwwwwwww!
But wait! There is more!
Rightfully, Mr. De Shields was convicted of a crime.
But not just any crime.
Mr. De Shields was convicted of sexual assault of an animal. And he must register as a sex offender. And because of that, Mr. De Shields will have to serve time in state prison.
Ten years is the sentence.
Now because of the budget crisis that has made county jails extensions of state prisons, supposed low-level criminals are being sent to the jails to make room for, well the likes of Mr. De Shields.
But here is the thing.
Is it not a more severe sentence than if he had committed a similar act against a human?
And is this not elevating the rape of a dog, gross as it is, over the rape of a human?
Bingo on both counts!
The question is why in the hell was Mr. De Shields allowed to roam among the citizenry? Should he have not been in jail and or a mental institution?
Of course he should have been in one or the other. The dude has been in and out of prison since 1992. What is more amazing is that Mr. De Shields is wheelchair bound and yet raped a puppy.
Leave it to the London Daily Mail to delve a little deeper into this tale. As the report pointed out, the basis for seeking such a sentence is Jessica's Law. And it is the first time it has been applied to the rape of an animal.
But since the dude was high on meth, did he really know what the hell he was doing?
No. Being convicted of animal abuse under the basis of Jessica's Law is going way too far.
Yes, Mr. De Shields should be somewhere away from civilized society. But this is not the way to do it.
This puts the puppy at an equal level as human. It is the extension of the animal "rights" movement writ large.
As I have written many times, I am an animal lover. I do not like to see animal abuse. I do believe in animal welfare. That animals, even those bred for food, should be treated well. But animals are not human. They have some human characteristics, but they do not have the cognitive use of reason we do. Thus they do not and can not have "rights".
It is why there are laws against having sex with animals. Because we, the human, even under the influence of meth, have the ability to reason that it is not right nor natural to do such a thing.
But treating it at the same level in a court of law, well this is wrong.
While many real criminals will serve minimal time because of state prison overcrowding, a sledge hammer was taken in this case because there seemed to be no other way to get this degenerate, De Shields, off the streets.
Two lessons should be learned here.
One, druggies like Mr. De Shields are not going to be helped. They need to be institutionalized. Yes, I want my tax dollars to go to building more to get people off the streets and the proper help that they need.
And second, animal abuse can not and should not be equalized in any way with human abuse. It debases the humans and elevates animals.
Now I wonder if California will learn any of these lessons? Or will we just continue out descent unabated?
