Will Governor Benedict Arnold Cave?
When will Gov. Benedict Arnold cave and agree to the massive tax hikes?
It does not help when the governor's spokesman, Aaron McClear had this to say:
"But, as he has said, it is important that everything be on the table (referring to Gov. Benedict Arnold). "
Really? Everything? Then I say, we better hide our wallets!
There is no doubt that Gov. Benedict Arnold will cave and raise taxes. After all, he is not running for election in 2010 as he will be termed out of office. On almost every issue, Gov. Benedict Arnold has been a Democrat enabler.
On same-sex marriage, he danced the fence but the real feelings about it came even before the California state supreme court divined a "right" to same-sex marriage. He told the Log Cabin Republicans that he would oppose Proposition 8, which would recognize traditional marriage. It would not take away any of the domestic partner laws that apply to same-sex partnerships.
When the court made its ruling, Gov. Benedict Arnold said that the state would accommodate right away. Not exactly a Mitt Romney on that subject.
Then there is globaloney warming. Gov. Benedict Arnold puts Al Gore and Sen. John "F--- You" McCain to shame in his never-ending quest to stop something that no one really knows is man-made or not.
On issue after issue, Gov. Benedict Arnold has been no more than a caretaker governor. Gray Davis with a personality.
The budget issue is finally a moment that Gov. Benedict Arnold could make a difference. But, he will not. He wants a deal. For it is more important for him to show that he was "post-partisan"-read, caving in to the Democrats.
Gov. Benedict Arnold could call for budget reform. But he will not.
I am afraid that the compromise will end up being what kind of taxes will be raised and how high. The Democrats have layed down where, how high and on who. All the legislative Republicans can do is just say no. And wait to, once again, be let down by the leading state Republican, Gov. Benedict Arnold.
California will eventually have to deal with the structural budget problems. It would be better to do that now instead of later. But, that will just get in the way of the tax hike.
It is only a matter of time before, once again, Gov. Benedict Arnold folds like a cheap lawn chair. And the people and what is left of business in California will be left holding the bag.
The Audacity Of A Dope
Now, I agree that immigrants should learn English. I agree with that. But understand this. Instead of worrying about whether immigrants can learn English — they'll learn English — you need to make sure your child can speak Spanish. You should be thinking about, how can your child become bilingual? We should have every child speaking more than one language.
You know, it's embarrassing when Europeans come over here, they all speak English, they speak French, they speak German. And then we go over to Europe, and all we can say [is], "Merci beaucoup." Right?
Sen. Messiah Barack Obama via You Tube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZprtPat1Vk
Is the above some of the most astonishing commentary from a serious candidate for president of the United States?
Here are the three ways that this is something that Sen. Messiah Barack will not be able to run away from.
1) The smugness of his superiority to that of the rest of us. You know, us bitter, gun-totting, church-going Americans. What Sen. Messiah Barack is saying, once again, is that the European is smarter than the American. Why, many can speak two or more languages. Look at you ugly Americans when you go over to Europe. You can't even speak a lick of the native language.
2) Telling parents and or potential parents that he, the government and "experts" know better than you about your child or children's education. You need to make sure that your child speaks Spanish. Yeah, the foreigners will learn English. But, dagnabit, your child has to learn the language of the immigrant.
3) He really is not all about unity and change but all about insulting a helluva lot of Americans.
Firstly, I am not ashamed to be an American. I am happy and yes, proud to be an American. And, I do not know how to speak and or write fluently in another language. If I were to go to a country that English was not the first language, I would try my best to learn a rudimentary bit of that language. I would expect that of one coming from another land. And, what Sen. Messiah Barack should have said is that those who come here need to learn English. Do you notice the way he said "They'll learn English"? No, Sen. Messiah Barack, they will not learn English. There is no incentive for the Spanish-speaking to learn English.
Secondly, the bizarre nature of the comment is that he really does not know much about education in the United States. Most school districts make students take at least one year of a foreign language if they intend on attending college upon graduation. If one starts in the first year of high school and sticks with that language all the way through, they will become well acquainted enough. And college will make said student proficient enough to speak it as easily as English.
Thirdly, can this man ever make sense when there is not a teleprompter in front of his mug?
I mean, we are a nation where many high schoolers are not proficient in reading, writing and or speaking English. There is a reason, Sen. Messiah Barack, that there are remedial English classes offered by community colleges and state universities. Maybe you do not know that since you did attend a private high school in Hawaii, private Occidental College and Harvard. So, what you should have said is that we need to make sure that all who graduate high school can read, speak and write basic English. Then you could have gone on with the self-flagellating anti-American diatribe.
And the real outrage about this comment from Sen. Messiah Barack? He does not speak Spanish! Read the following:
Asked what languages he himself speaks, Obama answered, “Indonesian and a little Spanish.” Also of note:
Senator Barack Obama, a Democrat from Illinois, attempted Spanish last year when he delivered his party’s Spanish-language radio address. But his Spanish is limited, and the taping of the speech was “tedious,” the Chicago Tribune’s political blog reported.
Now once again, our secular Messiah, Barack, tells us what we have to do yet does not do as he says himself.
This is possibly more damaging to Sen. Messiah Barack than the infamous San Francisco comments. That gave Sen St. Hillary Clinton an opening and a string of victories before the Messiah ended up having the Democrat superdelagates fall in line and secure, more or less, his nomination.
It really is mind-boggling how Sen. Messiah Barack comes up with this stuff. It really shows an elitist disconnect and that he really is audacious. As a dope!

Interesting Vice-Presidential Observations
I like that he breaks down the Republican potentials in three categories:
A) Media Picks
B) Conservative Picks
C) GOP/McCain Insider Picks
Now, I quibble just a bit on where he puts one like Sen. John Thune (R-SD). I would put Sen. Thune on both the Conservative Picks and GOP/McCain Insider Picks.
But, Mr. Lewis hits it out of the park with his analysis of how former Massachusetts governor, Mitt Romney, easily fits all three categories. And that only Mr. Romney or Sen. Thune, who I would argue can be on both the Conservative Picks and GOP/McCain Insider Picks, can generate excitement among conservatives.
One that is not on the list but has suddenly gained traction is former Ohio Republican congressman John Kasich.
Mr. Kasich, a current Fox News Channel contributor, is a Reagan conservative who has a great track record and like Sen. John "F--- You" McCain, spent a lot of time as a member of congress railing against excessive government, spending and pork. But, save for a book and being on Fox News Channel, he has not been all that much a Republican player lately.
Another intriguing choice is Virginia Republican congressman Eric Cantor. He is third in the Republican House leadership. He is a strong conservative. And, he is Jewish. That would be a way of having an interesting first. See how the DDBMSM would cover that!
At the end of the day, I still will go with Sen. "F--- You" McCain choosing Mitt Romney for the second spot.
One thing that I know Sen. "F--- You" McCain wants is to win this election. Do not let the "respectful campaign" rhetoric fool you. He will bring in the team that it takes and fight for the presidency on all cylinders. Sen. "F--- You" McCain would not have tried again if he did not really want the job.
A great post and an interesting breakdown of the Republicans choices for Vice-President from Mr. Lewis.
American's In Rebel's Corner
He was taken down in protest by an Islamic town councilor who objected because, well you know, it is an eeeeviiiiiillllll act to treat dogs good. For the Koran says dogs are evil. And, having a cute puppy dog that will be a police dog offends Islamics.
The article I link is a column by John O'Sullivan and he hits it right on the head what hath multiculturalism wrought. Or in this case, not wanting to be accused of Islamophobia hath wrought.
I would like to pose this question to our friends across the pond.
Where is the British and Scottish outrage over a singular town councilor telling a police department how to do its job?
And it leads to other questions.
When will the frightened, political correct, cowering British left come to realize, that unless you join the radical Islamics outright, their insidious demands will never stop?
And, where is the Conservative party "leader", David Cameron on this and similar matters?
What Britain needs is another Margaret Thatcher. One who realizes who the enemy is. Not the British people, but radical, Islamofacists. And, one who will not kow-tow to ridiculous demands.
Oh, and this comes on the heels of a potential new proposal by the Association of Police Chiefs to have bomb sniffer dogs wear "booties" where Islamics object http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/article4276489.ece because, you know, dogs are eeeviiiilll and unclean, according to the pedophile prophet, Mohammad, and the Koran.
Wake up, Britain! Soon, radical Islamic will not just object, but kill your dogs. What will you do then?

Some More Hyperbole From Gov. Benedict Arnold
As the Pasadena Star-News editorial points out, there is absolutely no evidence that legal fireworks have caused any of the current fires or any major fires to speak of.
Yet, there Gov. Benedict Arnold spout off, threatening the sale of legal fireworks in California.
The fact that many cities and counties in California have bought into the ridiculous notion that legal fireworks are so dangerous and banned them leads to a fact. The smuggling of and sale of illegal fireworks increase dramatically. And the chances are greater that the illegal fireworks can cause fires more than legal ones.
Just driving around Pasadena, California this morning with Mrs. rightviewfromtheleftcoast, we saw a man selling illegal fireworks right out of a van. That would probably not happen if Pasadena allowed legal fireworks.
But, leave it to the Republican governor to spout off and threaten to take another right away under the guise of a greater good. When there is no evidence that taking away that right will be for a greater good.
The solution is that the governator should either shut his yak and govern or allow the sale of legal fireworks throughout California.
But, one can not expect any logic from Gov. Benedict Arnold. He has swung so far to the left, I am afraid he will fall down. Hmm, maybe that would be a good thing!
Jesse Helms, 1922-2008
Mr. Helms, who had been in declining health for several years died this morning at 1:15 am according to spokesman Jimmy Broughton.
Mr. Helms was first elected to the senate in 1972 and retired in 2002. Mr. Helms was an early supporter of then former California governor Ronald Reagan in the epic 1976 Republican struggle with President Gerald Ford for the presidential nomination. It was Sen. Helms support in the North Carolina primary that saved Mr. Reagan and kept the campaign going.
Most importantly, Mr. Helms was a staunch anti-communist and leading opponent of then Soviet expansionism. Mr. Helms, in a way, was well ahead of his time in believing that the Soviet Union could be defeated, not just contained and or lived with under detente.
The DDBMSM will paint Mr. Helms in a very unflattering light. The DDBMSMers will make Mr. Helms out to be a Grand Dragon of the Ku Klux Klan because he was opposed to affirmative action and basically the overall liberal-left agenda. And throw in the fact Mr. Helms was an old-fashioned Southern gentleman and the stereotype was born and fed constantly.
Jesse Helms was a one of a kind senator and his vision and logic is something sorely missing today in many a politician. May he be with God and the angels.

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY! And GOD BLESS AMERICA

Is This ANOTHER Sen. Messiah Barack Flip-Flop?
As we see once again, the Democrat presumptive presidential nominee, Sen. Messiah Barack wants you to believe that it is us eeeeevviiiiiiil Republicans that question his patriotism.
But, as National Review's Byron York points out http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/?q=ZTE2MmQzOTFkZjg3NTI4NjIwM2FiNjcxNTYwODFkM2I=, it is Sen. Messiah Barack himself that opened the door to at the very least ask questions about his overall view of the United States and what constitutes patriotism.
It has to be repeated and repeated again, but Sen. Messiah Barack is the one who brought up the issue of the American flag lapel pin that he wore, then stopped wearing and his reason why. And now, with nary a question from any in the Dinosaur, Drive-By, Mainstream Media as to why he is wearing the lapel pin again.
Let me make it clear. I really believe that Sen. Messiah Barack at least appreciates America. I think that Sen. Messiah Barack thinks that there are many ills that ails this Great Land. Some real and some imagined. What the secular Messiah wants to do is transform the United States into a socialist paradise, like much of Europe. And, I think that would be the wrong direction for the United States.
That is why Sen. Messiah Barack explained his stopping wearing the flag lapel pin the way he did.
So, clearly the secular Messiah is flip-flop-flip on the American flag lapel pin issue.
It is not a grand scale issue, but it shows that Sen. Messiah Barack is both a different kind of politician and a charlatan all at the same time. Amazing!
Another Sad Sign Of A Depraved "Culture"
For the poor dogs, they will be spared death. They were unwilling participants in porno movies allegedly having sex with a woman.
It is so hard to even think of such a thing, but it is not all that surprising in the non-judgemental "culture" we now are a part of, like it or not.
At one time, society would look down on such depravity. But, many are just mere participants.
S & M "clubs", "fetish" clubs and, apparently, adults having sex with children.
Now, supposedly, "consenting" adults can engage in almost anything short of torture and death. But, S & M can be torture. And can lead to death. Somehow, it is at the very least at the margins when it comes to adults having sex of any kind with children.
However, there is the North American Man-Boy Love Association, NAMBLA, that advocates sex with adult men and boys, underage of course.
One thought that they were but a fringe. But, NAMBLA gets press and some people asking, what is wrong with that?
Back to the bestiality.
What would possess a seemingly sane person to want to engage in sex acts with any animal? What is that a real sign of?
I am not a psychologist, but I can write this. It is the sign of a very sick mind. Of someone that goes beyond living on the edge. It is a cry for help, I suppose.
But where is the judgement? Where is the shame that these two people have?
No judgement because they are adults after all and what is the harm? Well, ask the dogs. Oh, we can't since they do not speak. However, the whole reason that they were to be destroyed is because of the aggressive behavior that they showed. No wonder.
Instead of shame, these two cretins may not see a jail cell. But they could see the set of Oprah Winfrey's talk fest. Or worse, the charlatan, Dr. Phil, forced on the American people by, you guessed it, Oprah.
In a perfect world, these two would be charged with every count imaginable. And once convicted, on their jail uniforms, on the front and back would be "I had sex with dogs". And be made to show that in court and the media taking photos and video.
A return to judgementalism and shame. It is so needed now more than ever judging by this case in Florida.

Turning Point For Sen. McCain?
Exactly a year ago, John McCain purged a large portion of his staff including his highly-regarded campaign manager. At the time, this was seen as his campaign's nadir, but was actually the beginning of his comeback.Today, John McCain has once again endured a campaign shake-up. But this time, the hope -- and speculation -- is that this change will once again create some momentum for McCain. This is not an absurd thing to suppose. Not only did McCain's '07 campaign shake-up help McCain, but other recent candidates have witnessed a similar phenomenon. John Kerry famously fired his campaign manager in late '03, before coming back to win Iowa -- and capture the nomination. And earlier this year, Hillary Clinton famously fired her campaign manager before turning her campaign around (though it wasn't enough to capture the nomination).McCain might also be aided, however, by the recent erosion of support that has occurred since Barack Obama started flip-flopping on core issues (such as his politically calculated decision to not accept public financing) and tacking to the center (such as his change regarding FISA legislation). Additionally, attacks on McCain's military background have undermined Obama's optimistic and positive image. Clearly, the talk about Obama being a "new type" of politician has now become laughable. Could we be witnessing the watershed moment of this General Election campaign?
Steve Schmidt is the gentleman taking over the day to day operations of the Sen. "F--- You" McCain campaign. And, if Mr. Schmidt is any indication, the McCain group is getting serious about getting aggressive with the junior Solon from Illinois, Messiah Barack.
The following link gives some background to the Schmidt appointment http://www.politico.com/blogs/jonathanmartin/0708/Schmidt_takes_control_of_daytoday_operation.html.
I will not hold it against Mr. Schmidt for his involvement in the reelection of California Governor Benedict Arnold Schwarzenegger. Mr. Schmidt was a heavy-hitter in the Bush-Cheney reelection in 2004.
Another positive sign is that many Christian conservatives are beginning to coalesce around the Sen. "F--- You" McCain candidacy http://www.politico.com/blogs/jonathanmartin/0708/Progress_with_Christian_conservative_elites.html.
It appears that the Republican base is beginning to see the high stakes in this election. Most are coming home and supporting Sen. "F--- You" McCain.
Now that Sen. Messiah Barack has, in Clintonian fashion, essentially support of same-sex marriage, these Christian leaders may not be comfortable with the position of Sen. "F--- You" McCain, but note that he is very much endorsing Proposition 8 on the California November ballot that restores marriage to one man with one woman.
All of this comes one year to the day that the Sen. "F--- You" McCain campaign was all but given up for dead as the Arizona senior senator laid off a lot of staffers and began a literal one-man campaign for the Republican nomination for president.
One thing about Sen. John "F--- You" McCain. He likes to do things the hard way. And at some level, that is what I respect about him. I think that the American voter will do the same come November.

The Truth From Tony Blankley
Say what one will about Sen. "F--- You" McCain on policy, but as an American hero and most important a patriot, do not say anything less about Sen. "F--- You" McCain.
Remember, Whinny Wesley Clark said that then Capt. John McCain was "riding" in a fighter plane. Well Whinny Wesley, Capt. McCain did 23 of those "rides" more than you ever did. And you sir, were a disgrace as leader of the air war over the Balkans.
Maybe Sen. "F--- You" McCain would not lower himself to say what has to be said, but I will and all those who value the kind of service and sacrifice that has defined John McCain.
Read for yourself.
The Latest To Rile Up The Islamofacsists

Take a look at this advertisement from the Tayside, Scotland police.
Do you notice something, oh threatening? Unclean? Evil?
Its the puppy, stupid!
The London Daily Mail http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1030798/Muslim-outrage-police-advert-featuring-cute-puppy-sitting-policemans-hat.htm reports that the Tayside radical Islamofacsists are upset at this because, dogs are unclean according to the pedophile prophet, Mohammad and the Koran.
So, this postcard is not being displayed in many shops in Scottish city of Dundee that are Islamic-owned. You know, it would be terrible to show such a post card with an eeeviiiiilllllll puppy, sitting there in wait to tempt the Islamic into some impure thoughts and or acts.
But, this does not get any better.
There is actually a "diversity adviser" to the Tayside police board according to the article. And the chief constable, John Vine, is being called to task by an Islamic member of the Joint Police Board, councilor Mohammed Asif.
Of course, Chief Constable Vine had to issue to sniveling apology to the Islamicfacsists. But, Chief Constable Vine was honest enough to admit that he nor anyone else sought the advice of the "diversity adviser". Then Chief Constable Vine made a half-hearted apology.
There is no reason for any apology. The puppy, named Rebel, is a popular mascot, so to speak, that was introduced to the public six weeks ago. With clearly normal people, animal lovers and not-so animal lovers, he is nothing more than a cute puppy. To clearly unbalanced Islamofacsists, Rebel is a grave threat to Islam.
What I really get out of this? That it can happen here. And, that in some parts of the United States, it is already happening.
What Chief Constable John Vine should tell Mr. Asif and his fellow Islamofacsists is that they are in Scotland and there are aspects of Scottish life Mr. Asif and fellow Islamics need to get used to. And one, is the Scots love for animals. Something Mr. Asif and his fellow Islamics need to come to grips with.
Sen. John "F--- You" McCain, Just Calm Down About Your Military Service!
This comes from a man who was a Republican. And he was the navy secretary under former President Reagan. And he ran his campaign totally on his military experience. That his experience was superior to that of President Bush, and especially his military commanders on the ground. And that he was against entering the Iraq theatre in the War Against Islamofacsist Terror.
So, along with Whinny Wesley, Sen. Webb thinks that Sen. "F--- You" McCain's service is fair game.
Here is what these Sen. Messiah Barack supporters are trying to do.
These cretins are trying to inoculate the secular Messiah from the attacks, rightful, that he has little if any experience in foreign policy and even worse in regards to the War Against Islamofacsist Terror.
The reality is that Whinny Wesley wishes that he was "riding" in an airplane that got shot down in the Vietnam war.
For the record, Sen. "F--- You" McCain was not "riding" in an airplane. Sen. "F--- You" McCain was in a fighter plane on a mission over Vietnam when shot and captured by the communist Vietnamese forces.
And what is former general Clark's claim to fame? Directing an air war over the Balkans that was an utter disaster for the bombs dropping on civilians.
And, Sen. McCain, before running for congress in 1982 was the naval liaison to congress.
What has former general Clark done? Tried to run for president twice.
Sen. Webb, now he is just another Democrat hack. While it was A-OK for him to run a whole campaign based on his service to the nation, it is not OK for Sen. McCain, who speaks of his service in terms of the American experience of selfless sacrifice. Such hypocrisy.
But, that is what this campaign for Sen. Messiah Barack has become. One flip-flop after another. Telling everyone what they want to hear and not remembering what he tells to who.
But, these two, former general Clark and Sen. Webb are true believers. They will not back down.
And, Sen. John "F--- You" McCain should not either. It is time for the senator to take off the gloves. The Democrats are not going to play nice and you can not either.
I, for one, hope that you do not calm down, Sen. "F--- You" McCain!
Can Sen. Messiah Barack Use These Two For Religious Outreach?
Note that the two, Joseph Scott Craig and Joy Johnson, are activist Democrats. Both are young. Clearly, the Sen. Messiah Barack demographic. Maybe they are supporters. Maybe this was all some kind of outreach?!
All dark humor aside, if any of these allegations are true, it is very disturbing the depravity that human beings will go. Something is really missing in the lives of people who commit such acts.
One thing is clear. If true, these two need some real help, ASAP.

Laura's Back On The Radio-WOO HOO !!
***BREAKING NEWS***It's official! Laura will return to the radio airwaves on Monday, June 30. Buckle your seatbelts!
This is direct from her website http://lauraingraham.com. So, if I am wrong, do not blame this messenger!
We may find out some of the details as to why her syndicator, Talk Radio Network, had her off the air for almost a month. Or, we may not.
No matter what, it will be great to have her back on the airwaves and just in time for the sizzling summer of mindless political "news".
Also, I want to thank Monica Crowley http://monicamemo.com, who filled in for her most of her absence. Clearly, Miss Crowley was in a rather unusual situation and handled it with class. Same for Tammy Bruce http://tammybruce.com, who did a little fill-in duties.
Laura, I am glad you are back!
Anglican Communion, R. I. P.?
What the traditionalists have done is exactly what the modernists have done. Decided that they knew best and the current Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Rt. Rev. Dr. Rowan Williams has played his fiddle while the Communion burns.
The issues are much more than human sexuality. That is the thrust of it according to the Dinosaur, Drive-By, Mainstream Media. There is so much more.
For the Anglican in the United States, the Episcopal Church, the mindlessness in mind numbing.
Take something as basic as a Christian denomination that rejects it's very purpose? Well, the Episcopal Church does just that. The official party line, if you will, is that Jesus Christ is NOT the only way, the truth and the life. No, not at all. Since at the last general convention, a seemingly innocuous reaffirmation of what it means to be a Christian, the understanding of the basics of the faith was rejected. By a vote, of course. Sort of like the "Jesus Seminar." Picking and choosing what they like or don't like.
And there is the constant changing of the Book Of Common Prayer. The last major revision was in 1979. It was divisive because it brought in contemporary language. And some wanted to jettison the Elizabethan English that had been in place since the founding of the Church of England and the Protestant Episcopal Church. But, the compromise was to have both. That should have been sufficient. But, not to the modernists. Many want "inclusive" language. You know, no He or Him for God. Just God, God and God. And forget those pesky His and Hers. No differentiation of sexes. No, no, no. And to make the Lord's Prayer something of a gobly-gook that one could not say with a straight face.
To the Anglican, the Prayer Book is as important as the Holy Bible. Unfortunately, some see it the other way around. But the importance can not be brushed away. That is why the radical changes that the modernists would want would make the Episcopal Church unrecognizable in a generation or less.
It is just an overall trend among those of us who, for some inexplicable reason, stay in the Episcopal Church and thus by extension, the Anglican Communion.
But now, we may very well have two leaders. The Archbishop of Canterbury and the head of this new group that wants very much to stay in the Anglican Communion, but is tired of being lectured to by the so-called enlightened modernists.
The numbers, and regret ably that is one of the ways to monitor trends, are not good for the Episcopal Church. Many more traditionalists will leave to join a new province in North America. Some sitting on the fence may look closely at this new grouping. Churches and whole diocese's will leave. It is very possible that when all is said and done, the Episcopal Church may be left with fewer than one million members. Ditto for the Anglican Church in Canada. The Mother Church, The Church of England would be out of existence where it not for the monarchy and the Queen, Elizabeth II, being in charge.
The traditionalists have finally taken the shot across the bow. It is time to see whether Archbishop Williams will respond, or let the bow pierce his heart, and that of the Anglican Communion.

McCain Still Has A Good Chance
One of Sen. "F--- You" McCain's strengths is that he is seen as a reformer. And, he needs to pound that home day in and day out. And, as Mr. Fund points out, he needs to have a focused reform agenda.
A fasicinating point is about the two polls that came out.
One was a Newsweek poll that showed Sen. Messiah Barack ahead of Sen. "F--- You" McCain by 15% and the Los Angeles Times/Bloomberg poll showing Sen. Messiah Barack ahead by 12%.
Mr. Fund points out the over sampling of registered voters and padding the Democrat respondents.
And Mr. Fund points out that once people get really focused on the election, generally after Labor Day, the seemingly overwhelming numbers that one can have evaporate. As examples, there is 1976 in which it appeared that then President Ford was going to be drubbed by former Georgia governor, Jimmy Carter. Mr. Ford only lost by two percent.
The ominous is that the election seemed very close in 1980 between former California governor Ronald Reagan and incumbent President Carter. Mr. Reagan won in a landslide.
Some observations.
The Democrats have nominated one of the least experianced people to ever be a major party candidate for president in Sen. Messiah Barack. Two terms in the Illinois state senate and less than one term as a United States senator. While Sen. Messiah Barack is often compared to President John F. Kennedy, here is a fact. When Sen. Kennedy ran for president in 1960, he had been in congress for 12 years. So, Sen. Kennedy was much more versed in the ins and outs and knew how to frame issues. Sen. Messiah Barack is like dung. He is all over the place.
Even former President Carter had time in the Georgia state senate and was governor for a term.
The United States is a center-right nation. Sen. Messiah Barack is an unrepentant left-winger. While many conservatives have a lot of rightful doubts about Sen. McCain, he is much more reflective of the general mood of the United States. And, does not seem like a fringe candidate. Sen. Messiah Barack will be proven to be a fringe candidate.
As Mr. Fund points out, elections are won in the fall, not the summer. But, impressions are made during this time. So far, Sen. Messiah Barack has failed to impress. If the mood of the United States is that we are in a terribly wrong direction, Sen. Messiah Barack should be an easy 20% ahead of Sen. "F--- You" McCain. But, I think that a lot of what ails the United States populace is, and I write this with regret, President Bush.
And, that is why Sen. "F--- You" McCain needs to be his own man and distance himself, respectfully, from President Bush. He has done so on major issues. Not the ones that count and that is important to excite the conservative base.
Sen. Messiah Barack is going to have a hard time convincing those Sen. Hillary Clinton voters back in the Democrat fold. Many supported Sen. Clinton because she had some experiance and did not seem as radical as Sen. Messiah Barack. But, her sin to many a Democrat was that she voted to authorize President Bush to use force to topple the Iraqi dictator, Saddam Husein. And the anti-war crowd did not like that and she could not explain it away. DO NOT let the "kiss" today between those two (YUCK!) fool you. She has no interest in seeing a Sen. Messiah Barack win.
So, the bottom line is this. Sen. "F--- You" McCain is more than still in this race. He needs to get a reform agenda on track. And this shapes up to be another nail biter. Do not take my word for it. Take John Fund's!
This Is The Most Frightening Photo Today!

two who slugged it out to the end in this frightening photo? And the
phoniness of it all!
But, there it is. Sen. Hillary Clinton and Sen. Messiah Barack Hussien
Obama and the most painful kiss since, well that hideous photo of
then first lady Clinton and then President Bill Clinton frolicking on a
Caribbean beach. BUUUUUURRRRR!
The photo is the Lie Of The Day!
Mark this posting that Sen. Clinton will be doing all behind the scenes
to make sure that Sen. Messiah Barack never sees the front door of
the White House. Except to meet President-elect McCain on the way to the inauguration on January 20, 2009!

A Case For Mitt For Veep
Looking at this chart of swing states, it becomes clear who John McCain's choice for VP should be. McCain should select Mitt Romney as his running mate. This move would put Nevada in the Republican category and, at the very least, make Michigan a "toss up" if not "leans Republican." To the extent Romney supporters are willing to travel to nearby Colorado and New Mexico, it could also ensure that McCain has a much needed, fairly active get out the vote effort in the southwest.
I never liked Romney. It wasn't the Mormon thing—every Mormon I've ever met has been an upstanding citizen. It also wasn't the slick way he managed to slam McCain for positions he had taken in the months before announcing his candidacy. My problem with Romney was that he embodied the ever-increasing banality of politicians, which I feel duty-bound to resist.
So I am rallying around him why? Not least because John McCain's election will postpone the death of personality for four to eight years. After all, McCain, as a boy, used to hold his breath until he got his way. There is every indication he would sucker punch a recalcitrant congressman once in the Oval Office. For his own part, Romney might even be willing to cut a big check, because McCain's selection will secure Romney the Republican nomination in the future.
The only downside? If McCain/Romney pull this off, National Review's post-election cruise will be short one VIP.
Save for the humor about the National Review post-election cruise, this is a spot-on analysis.
And, I will make this prediction.
If Sen. "F--- You" McCain has the good sense to put Mr. Romney in the number two spot, Mr. Romney should be spending a lot of time in California.
Why?
After all, it was then-Gov. Romney who had the misfortune to be the sitting governor when the Massachusetts supreme court found a "right" to same-sex marriage. And, as noted here many times, then-Gov. Romney tried to get the issue on the ballot to have a state constitutional amendment to recognize marriage as between one man and one woman. Because of the convoluted process, then-Gov. Romney was unsuccessful. His successor, Democrat Gov. Deval Patrick let it die in the General Court (legislature), dominated by Democrats.
Here would be a chance to show those power-grabbing courts that the will of the people does account for something.
If advocates of same-sex marriage want to convince people of their position, they need to and should in the court of public opinion. Depending on courts to divine rights sets back the cause.
Before I trail into another post, the case for Mitt is now being made in The Weekly Standard. And I could not agree more.
One For The Second Amendment
